June 2023 - Scheduled new patient appts. for my spouse and I for the first day that my insurance…read morewas effective. I didn't need their membership, because I have insurance, they said that was totally fine to go through them with regular insurance, no membership required. I told them we wanted to be seen as soon as our insurance was effective. They scheduled my spouse and I appts for the effective date. July 2023 - Go in for scheduled appts. The same woman who scheduled us was the same woman that greeted us and did our intake. We did not have our physical insurance cards yet, obviously. Upon arrival they told us we would need to sign up for their membership that was a 3 month minimum requirement since we didn't have our insurance cards yet. We called our insurance company and got our group ID number but member ID's were not available yet, Big Tree would not accept. Frustrated, but we were desperate to be seen so we signed up for the 3 month minimum ($130 a month on top of our normal insurance) so that we could be seen that day. Red Flag #1 but lots of people we know claim to have good experiences so we tried to keep an open mind. After this appt I switched to their pharmacy for my regular mental health prescription that I had been taking for almost a year at this point. This medication is not a stimulant or an addictive drug, or something that is sought after on the street. They prescribed me a 90 day supply, with one refill before 07/24. I have NOT used that refill. 11/2023 - I went in for an appt to address a GI issue, they sent me to have labs done at quest diagnostics. I paid for my bloodwork at quest diagnostics. Today - I get a message from their billing dept that they have an invoice for my lab work from Quest. They also immediately called me after sending the message which was annoying. I told them I already paid quest, they said well you have a balance and they sent it to us. I asked them to send me the invoice from quest, they originally told me they couldn't because it had other patient information on it, they then sent me a picture of small portion of my name with a line item and an amount. Nothing that said quest on it. I called quest, they said I have no outstanding balance, my balance was paid in person the day of the blood draw and that no invoice would have been sent to Big Tree Medical. I then contacted Big Tree, their billing dept had conveniently left for the day, it wasn't even 4p yet. I then ask them to refill my medication because I was down to a weeks supply. Right before their "closing time" I get a text from their office that they can't refill my prescription and I need to be seen first. I ask why, I have been seen by my GP twice in the past 6 months, they said because we no longer have a membership with them I would need to be seen again even though my prescription bottle from their pharmacy shows that I have a refill left. They also charged my husband's card they had on file for our membership for "lab work" without any authorization from him. STAY AWAY
