Have to chuckle...took them two years to respond to my post....mirrors the horrible service we had. Never in a million years would we return. Absolute worst service EVER and you knew it. Called several times to try to make an appointment with no return call. Finally got through to someone on Tuesday when I called, just to be rudely hung up on. When I tried to call back, my phone call was not answered and then I received a text message from a number not associated with this business saying they are not taking new clients. Shady, shady, shady. If you're not taking new clients, why not just say so on the phone instead of hanging up on someone? Totally unprofessional. Found a better tax firm to handle my situation, and would recommend everyone to stay away from this questionable business. Will be reporting to BBB. read more

I do recommend this business as the employees are kind and courteous. They answered my questions immediately and when I couldn't figure out how to get to the parking lot, someone came out to find me. Turns out I was just over the curb at the store right along side their building. (how embarrassing!) Be aware, that this tax service is better suited for the wealthier population or businesses. Based on my experience, this is a small business who lacks the resources to handle new customers and their needs. I reached out to obtain a price quote, dropped off last years taxes, and scheduled a Zoom meeting to meet and greet their staff, review last years tax forms, and address any concerns for our upcoming taxes. The end result was their staff's absence at the meeting and failure to contact us before hand, which was all owed to a misunderstanding with the dropped off tax documents. After trying to schedule a 2nd meeting and calling to share my concerns about my first impressions of their company, the owner handled my feedback with defensive, condescending, and rude remarks. I would strongly not recommend this business based on their level of customer service and disorganized communication process. read more

We were referred here as our last tax person was not really doing anything for us that we couldn't do ourselves. Unfortunately after filing our taxes, we received a letter from the IRS needing paperwork. After NUMEROUS attempts to contact RD Tax Service, leaving messages, emails and even going to the office(closed at 11:30AM) we decided to handle this matter ourselves. At a time of my family's greatest need and crisis, Debra Popovich (president) and Nancy Jimenez (office manager) have been completely neglectful in communication and action. Debra with R and D tax service in Brea Ca. I've never been treated so bad in my life . Debra had all of my tax documents for 1 1/2 months prior to April 14. The final day to file taxes .. On April 10 Debra advised me I owed $ 46,000.00 for my combined state n Federal taxes ?? I paid her $350.00 to do my taxes n file an extension ... Come to find out she never did my taxes .. During all this time I was calling Debra to make sure there was nothing else she needed .. Debra wouldn't answer phone calls or emails .. Debra sent me a refund of $ 350.00 then put a stop payment on th check ... I went to another tax person who got me a nice tax return .. I never felt comfortable with Debra n her abilities.. DON'T let anyone go to r n d tax service .. I'm in the process of reporting them to the state n Federal tax boards read more

So disappointed with the lack customer service and performance! I was referred to Debra Popovich due to an ongoing problem with my taxes from previous years. I made an appointment with her and before doing so, I informed the representative over the phone of my issue (I had a first time home buyers credit that continues to show that I owe after I paid it back about 4 years ago). The representative said that wouldn't be a problem and said they could work with the IRS getting it resolved. I continue with my appointment, back in late March and brought in my 2017 taxes to show that I've paid the tax credit back. Debra did not consider needing my 2017 taxes until after the fact and in May . . . Over one month later. I get an email from her saying that she needs my 2017 tax forms and quickly thereafter stated she did not need them and just the POA (Power of Attorney). Months go by with no update and in early September I email Debra asking for an update as I have heard nothing from her and my outstanding check and refund check are outstanding . . . I get no response for two weeks. I then call her office and leave a message with the receptionist . . . I get no response! I call a couple days later, leave another message with the receptionist who told me she will call me back in "5 minutes" No call back and continue to get blown off! Finally after several additional phone calls and hours later, I get an email which was attached to my email to her two weeks prior. No apology for not getting back to me or having ANY kind of explanation of what was taking so long. Debra tells me in the email that she needs my 2017 tax forms to complete my 2018 taxes . . . I am absolutely livid at this point and I had to pick up my tax forms and drop them off at her office . . . After already bringing them the first time, going back and forth about needing them and having nothing done for months! In addition to ALL of this, her service fee was triple what my former tax preparer charged! read more

Be careful who you get to prepare your taxes. They were inaccurate in preparing our taxes two years in a row! We recieved a notice from the IRS saying our taxes were incorrect and we had to pay back almost $2000 for two years because of their mistake. This is not a professional tax service. On the couple of occasions when we heard from the IRS, due to what ultimately turned out to be errors on their part, Debra effectively intervened, pointed out the IRS' errors, and made them go away. My family and I had used RD Tax for a few years and it was fine. I had my 2017 taxes filled incorrectly and when I brought it up (I have email chain to prove) Debra said she would amend them and take care of it. Then came months of radio silence. I was forced to contact another accountant to handle the amendment. Last week I had to go down to the IRS office to prove my identity. This was because they said they only received the amendment from the second company and thought it was fraudulent. So here I am two years later still dealing w this mess. I reached out to RD to inquire about the non submittal of my original tax return and to request a refund. They sent me a print out saying it was accepted (not a formal IRS document).Since then, they have been so busy (non tax season) to return emails (3) calls (3) and literally 0 response back minus a receptionist saying everyone is in meetings. Horrible customer experience and complete lack of respect for clients time and m. We will definitely not be using them and I would shop around if I were you. read more
