When I tried the key on my Freelander it did not work. He told me there must be something wrong with my ignition, maybe it was replaced. My Freelander has 50K original miles and I got it from an old lady, the original owner. The key code he got me was 4 digits. Ian ghosted me and moved on. I got another locksmith to come out and he used the "Lishi" method to make me a key and he supplied me with the 10 digit Key code. Ian can't get the job done but he'll gladly take your money and ghost you.

I hired Zezo (Swaha Locksmith) to re-key locks for my new home. He told me it would be $50 for an…read moreelectronic deadbolt and $30 per cylinder, then quoted $120 for my job. I brought new, unopened locks: * 1 Schlage Encode deadbolt * 2 Schlage FB50 single-cylinder deadbolt + handle sets After seeing the boxes, he recommended using the Encode's key to re-key the other cylinders, charging $30 x 4 = $120, and giving me one key copy. I trusted his professional recommendation and paid. Afterward, I realized both FB50 sets already had the same factory key code, meaning they already matched each other. The only lock that needed re-keying to match everything was the Schlage Encode, which would have been $50 based on his own pricing. When I raised this, he said he "doesn't look at the numbers" and that I "should have told him." No refund or resolution was offered. A locksmith should catch something this basic and recommend the least work needed -- especially when it affects home security. Sharing this so others can make an informed choice.
