Ian is great. Found the electrical problem (key fob, folding mirrors, inside lights and more stopped working) and was able to diagnose and fix within a few hours at a really fair price. He texted me photos of what he was doing and explained the problem. I was really impressed and wish more of the service industry measured up. read more

I lost my keys for a Land Rover Freelander and Ian told me he could get me a code to cut me a key through his contact. He charged me $50. When I tried the key on my Freelander it did not work. He told me there must be something wrong with my ignition, maybe it was replaced. My Freelander has 50K original miles and I got it from an old lady, the original owner. The key code he got me was 4 digits. Ian ghosted me and moved on. I got another locksmith to come out and he used the "Lishi" method to make me a key and he supplied me with the 10 digit Key code. Ian can't get the job done but he'll gladly take your money and ghost you. read more

Highly recommend Ian and KeyMD. Needed an additional key for a used '12 Civic recently purchased. Ian was professional, prompt, flexible and knowledgeable. His mobile shop had everything needed, and saved me lots of time by making the duplicate here at home. Another plus, super fair price. Key is an exact match and works better than original one. read more

I lost the one and only key (fob) I had for my 2012 Audi A5 and called the dealer who quoted me $800 for a replacement and they wanted me to have the car towed to them! I was horrified. I knew key fobs were expensive but $800?! I looked up automotive locksmiths and found Key MD. The dealership told me that they were the only ones that could replace my key. When I talked to Ian at Key MD, he told me that was not true and that he could take care of that for me. He did not need me to have my car towed in to him. He came to me, I provided him all the required documents that I owned the car etc and he made the replacement key fob for me and it cost only $500! I was so relieved. I was so grateful for his kind and knowledgeable demeanor. I absolutely recommend Key MD! No question. Thank you Ian and Key MD! read more

Needed 2nd fob for my car. Initially contacted my local Ford dealer. They said over 300 for the fob and over 200 to program it. Key MD came to my house the next morning and gave me a replacement fob with programming included for a total of 200. Great guy. Can't say enough good things about Key MD. read more

Ian was very helpful. He aided me in getting me back on the road after having lost all keys to a new Accura MDX. Very professional.

Great work ! You won't be disappointed and the best value in SCV I recommend this business to any who needs a key replacement

Ian and KeyMD were exceptional. I needed an extra Key fob because the previous owner for my Dodge Challenger lost one. Ian was very punctual with communication, arrived on time, and finished the job in 30 minutes. The Key Fob and the actual key both worked seemlessly. Prices were also very fair for the service he provided. 5/5 stars will use his service again if I ever lose a key fob. read more

I was out with a few friends and lost the key to my car. I was freaking out as it was the only key I had, was not near my home and had people with me. I was in such a panic because I had called the dealer first and I was in tears when I got off the phone as I didn't have the money or the time they required to get me a replacement key. We were stranded. I called Key MD and thank goodness, the guy there Ian had the correct key, came out to us and made me a new key to my car. I didn't have to wait several days like the dealer said. I didn't have to have my car towed into them, like they said. He was calm and reassuring and didn't take advantage of me or my situation. I am so relieved I called Key MD or I don't know how this would have all turned out. Thank you, thank you thank you!!! read more
