I wish I could name them all by name, but there is one especially who has made an invaluable difference in my life. Not just by the way he has treated me, nor by the way he has treated everyone else, but by the personal impression he has made in my life. I am truly a better man by witnessing his example and feeling his care and concern for me individually. ..Riley I want to thank you for all you have done for me. Thank you. Each time I have came in and seen him he is actively making the best possible difference in the lives of those around him. People need to stop bringing animals into any place with food. It is not sanitary and breaks health codes. Employee was not bothered and gave dog a treat. Not happy to see this ever happen. Today, I showed up and yet again their card readers won't recognize/read my card (a circumstance unique to Slim Olsen's) and an event so frequent that most of the cashiers recognize their equipment problems as a known issue. After waiting for the cashier to offer me a moments attention, I explain the issue with the card reader and ask him to open the pump. He explains to me that because the card didn't read, he would be uncomfortable letting me get gas. Not sure what level of discernment he's utilizing but i have all my teeth, comb my hair, dress well and have a vehicle that should afford me the benefit of any doubt. So, I left and said that, I won't be back. By the look of things, I don't think I'm the first to write Slim's off; there's just not the customers that there used to be. The reviews speak for themselves. I can appreciate that people may take advantage of a gas station but when you treat a loyal customer as though he's a common criminal you're embarking on a bad and very short term business model. And two minutes later at a nearby Chevron, using the exact same card, at a much lower price, I filled my tank and felt happy about it.

It's part of their initiative to make the place feel very welcoming and friendly. The store is well organized and has pretty average prices. They do have a few specials to entice return business in the form of punch cards. I'm not sure of all the punch cards they offer these days. They used to have a "milk" card (buy 10 gallons get 1 free). I know they still have a card for fountain drinks and for car washes. Overall a pretty decent place to get gas and goodies.
