Worst VIP experience I've ever had. If you are going to go, don't pay extra for VIP. Your belongs will not be kept in a secure place! I had bought a jacket just hours before getting in the club. I had checked it in the "VIP" coat check. I didn't realize until the morning that it had been shredded. When I contacted them, I did not get any helpful response from them about what had happened just hours before. Again, going as an attendee is fine but do not get VIP. If they treat VIP coatcheck like this, I'm nervous how they treat the coatcheck for the public! In regards to the club itself, we could not find the other rooms. Went here with several friends based on multiple recommendations and word of mouth from others who had traveled through Barcelona. We got the 3-room tickets, and were glad we did because it was more than enough variety. It was very crowded, as to be expected. It took us probably 30 min to get actually get inside even with tickets bought beforehand; there was a long outside line and another indoor line to actually get your ticket scanned. We stayed for about 3 hours and surprisingly it got better the later we stayed. Would recommend if you're with friends looking to dance to funky music, but not an absolute must-see club. read more

Despite being the oldest person** here by at least a few years, I still had a great time during my visit. No trip to Barcelona is complete without checking out some nightlife, and a Diplo show was the perfect excuse to check out Razzmatazz and do exactly that. Tix were around 25 bucks (not bad) and we were easily able to purchase them online a few hours before the show. Once inside I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was actually plenty of breathing room. It helped that we got there before Diplo and during the opener, but it didn't feel nearly as claustrophobic as other similar venues back home in NYC. I'm not a huge fan of standing in the middle of a crowded pit and we were able to snag a seat overlooking the stage in the upper level balcony area. We still had a great view of the stage and were situated directly next to the bar. **Despite all of this awesomeness, we were the only people on said balcony. Apparently thats a perk when you are the oldest person in the club. Whatevs. Not complaining** Bottom line: If you are less of a club goer and are more into the bar scene then this might not be your first pick for a night out. Butttttttt..... if you are in Barcelona, enjoy music and feel tempted to take a peak at the club scene then Razzmatazz is not the worst option. read more

Easily my favorite club experience in Europe. It's accessible and there's no crazy dress code or bouncers that don't like your face and willt urn you away. The cover is about 10-12 Euro and you get a really heavily poured mix drink or beer along with that. A beer is 5 Euro. Inside, the place is literally a sea of people. Going on the weekend, they open up even more rooms and each one plays a bit different music, but is just as big as the next. On the top, there's an outdoor balcony to cool off, sit down on the bleachers, and have a cigarette. In the main room, you can go on the second story and sit down with your legs hanging over the crowd and watch as thousands upon thousands are dancing and enjoying themselves. I must remind those who have never been to Barcelona though, the nightlife starts late. Don't start going to clubs until 1-2:00AM. So be prepared by sleeping later, eating later, and drinking later, as you'll be dancing later. This defined the peak of nightlife on my Europe trip and I can't wait to go back when I'm in Barcelona. read more

OMG LOL Everyone recommended this place. So we came for a little while. It's ridiculous. Disclaimer: I don't go to clubs often so I don't know how to properly categorize them (like you would with a bar). This one was huge, multiple floors. Extremely loud. Much louder than the other clubs in Barcelona and the few that I've been to in New York. For that reason, we went to some area upstairs and outside. Was it a rooftop? Who knows. We got there around 3am and a lot of the people appeared to be on hard drugs. Not my scene but I'm not going to hate on a place just because it's not "my" scene. For the Yelper(s) that complained about it being dead at 12-1am.... that's because the nightlife in Barcelona starts much later than in the states.... So that's your own fault for not knowing when to go.... The place was poppin at 3am. Also, I was afraid it would be filled with teenagers (like said Yelper who I will not name mentioned) but that wasn't the case AT ALL.... Everyone I spoke to was mid-late 20's. And yes, there are a good amount of tourist obviously but these tourists are from ALL OVER. It was a very mixed crowd with both locals and tourists which is a good thing in my opinion. When I find myself in Barcelona again, I certainly will NOT return here but I'm glad we got to experience this infamous place for ourselves. We stayed for a hot minute before moving on to the next and it was OK. Another thing though - location is not optimal so if your're here and want to go elsewhere, you'll most likely have to take a taxi. I would suggest going to clubs on the beach (Opium, Pacha, Shoko, etc.) because you can just walk to the next one if you're not happy where you are. read more

Before planning my 1.5 week trip to Spain, I obviously did some research on all the crazy clubs my boyfriend and I should go to in Barcelona, having heard of the crazy nightlife. Someone should have told me those reviews and articles I read were meant for teeny-boppers. My two picks were Razzmatazz and Apolo. I'll be writing a review for Apolo shortly after this. I had bought tickets ahead of time online. First off, you should know that clubs like the this are meant for kids 16 and younger. I had just turned 27 that summer... We came at 1am and it was empty. There were a few kids hanging on the rooftop. We stuck around for an hour. Some kid tried hitting on me and we left shortly. NOT WORTH THE MONEY OF YOU'RE AND ADULT- GO TO LEGIT CLUBS LIKE OPIUM AND PACHA!!! At least you get a legitimate concert DJ performance. As an American studying abroad at LSE, obviously we want to travel as much as possible. Our travels brought us to Barcelona, where again we wanted to go to the most popular clubs. Razzmatazz was first on our list and living in twenty tu, our hostel was super close by and about a 5 min walk. The music was great and they actually have live djs there. They played typical EDM which is perfect for dancing. It's very big, with two large rooms on the main floor, and 3 floors in total. There're a lot of bars so you'll never have to go too long without alcohol :) One thing though, your hostel might try to rip you off by selling you a "voucher" for 3 euros that will get you to the front of the line. Then, you're supposed to pay an additional 22 euros at the club. They say it's cheaper but me and my friends discovered it's actually supposed to 17 euros in addition to the 3 for a total of 20, not 25 euros. SO make sure you don't get ripped off and I promise it'll be a great night! It also doesn't close until 6-7am so I would say get there around 1am. If you come too late you'll miss the live DJ! So much fun! Went on a Wednesday night in March and it was PACKED! Usually free before 1am or 2am, it depends, but I got tickets for 12€ which included 2 drinks so overall a pretty good deal. A small, humid club on the east side of Barcelona it was with good fortune that Interpol's Turn on the Bright Lights tour was in town during a recent visit, the band sounding as tight as ever as they ran through the album cover to cover with several hits following, the only issue being that Razzmatazz clearly oversold the venue or failed to acknowledge the band's popularity as floor-space was at a premium both top and bottom with temperature control severely lacking when accounting for the humidity and mass of humanity. read more

The whole reason for my trip to Barcelona was to see Rise Against at this concert venue. Upon our arrival via taxi, I lost my phone. It seemed that as I was getting out of the taxi that my phone fell out of my pocket and back into the taxi. I didn't realize what had happened until the taxi was too far down the road for us to catch it, so my unlocked, beautiful iPhone was gone in a matter of seconds, but I digress. I was pretty sure that losing my phone was going to ruin the night for me. It was raining and there was a long line waiting to get in. I'd say that we waited a good hour or so in line before it started moving. When we finally got inside, I'd say that the place was much bigger than I expected. Apparently, this is the biggest club in Barcelona, but my friends and I only saw the room that hosts live bands. Drinks, even water, were a bit on the high side even on the Euro. Otherwise, I really enjoyed this place. It has great acoustics and is much bigger to many of the American indoor concert venues that I have been to. Tickets weren't too bad, price wise, either. My only real qualm is that I'm very sure Rise Against was a sold out show and everyone was dripping with sweat before the opening act ended. I tried to get up to the front, as I am not a fan of the moshpit but I do like being in front of the stage, but it just became too suffocating. Not to mention how rude people seemed to be. I love this place! If you're a tourist in Barcelona, you will have probably heard about this place along with Opium Mar and maybe the other beach spots next to Opium. Don't get it twisted-they are entirely different beasts. I will not crap on Opium Mar, because if it's your thing it's a very nice place. However, I have always said I want to either go to a bar, or a filthy dance club-I have no time for Night Clubs with more space for tables/VIP/standing around than dancing. If I want to drink and talk I'll go to a bar, if I want to dance I'll go to a place like this. So for you people out there with only a few nights out in Barcelona, just realize Opium and Razz are nothing alike. Also, you'll find a lot more locals in Razz. Anyway, most of what you need to know about this place has been covered already: huge, 5 rooms or something like that, DJ in the main room was spinning electro-pop mixed with some rock when I was there. I'll try to cover some things that will hopefully help someone reading this: -While BCN clubs do get going late, don't overdo this. I arrived around 12:30 or a bit earlier and thought it was perfect timing. When I got in it wasn't empty, but not packed, so collecting a drink was easy. The person I was with and I spent 15 minutes drinking and walking around the whole place scoping out the various rooms, then came in and slotted ourselves in the main room. About that time it got really, really good and I'd actually say the 1-3 or 3:30 AM time slot was more fun than later in the night. So don't show up early, but don't treat this as an after-hours place either. -This place strikes a nice level of grunginess (for me). You don't need to dress up, plan on getting sweating, you will probably see some drug use in the bathrooms. Yet if felt safe and I didn't have any issues with obnoxious drunks. -There are some cheap bars nearby. Get to the area early and drink for cheap to get a nice buzz going. -For my cool, well-put together guys: Despite the grunginess of this place, it's filled with gorgeous women. If you want to dance with, or (attempt to) talk to some, err on the side of politeness because by 3 or 4 am every girl in here will have dealt with 10 guys trying to grind on them, and be fully prepared to give you a death-stare rejection if you get too aggressive. -Funny story-while speaking English to my friend, one of the bouncers began to speak aggressively in French to me. Not sure why. I said 'what?' and he then told me in Spanish (which I do speak) "I've already told you," or something like that. After I expressed confusion over him speaking French he seemed a bit sheepish and told me we were in the VIP line, and needed to be in another line. Anyway, the bouncers are about what you'd expect at a place like this. read more

So we ended up here after hijacking two strangers on a bench off an alleyway in Las Ramblas and demanded they take us out. I know I know, long story. We demanded to go somewhere with good music and after turning on some American charm, they finally gave in. HA! Our destination: Razzmatazz! Supposedly the BIGGEST club in Barcelona, it boosts 7 rooms and is reminiscent of a gigantic warehouse. It was very casual, jeans and sneakers were totally acceptable. On this particular night, there was some Japanese Dubstep act. The cover was 12 Euros and that came with a free drink. The atmosphere was great. Lots of music lovers. You could tell they were there for the music not just for the "party" aspect. We had a great time. We ventured out to the balcony and found the "smokers haven". Even if you don't smoke, it was just a great place to mingle and meet new people (if you could get past the cloud of smoke - ick). Overall, a great club for music lovers! read more

The cover is a little pricey, but it includes a free drink and a great DJ, plus multiple floors to wander around with a wide variety of music. The best part aout Razzmatazz was there wasn't a stupid dress code to get in and I didn't feel like I was surrounded people who were too snarky or too grimy. Razz is a creation of its own...it is amazing and one of the only clubs I will crave to go back to. Although its swimming with Americans, the locals like to make a stop every once in awhile as well. Its on the expensive side, as nearly every popular club is, but you can get free entrance every once in awhile. The whole place is enormous, with multiple floors, tons of "mini" clubs and even a roof. So you can find your style of music somewhere. On week nights they close rooms so that it always feels crowded. I definitely recommend a visit, but make sure you're on your A game if you aren't a crowd person. read more

Inside this mythical mammoth of a club/concert venue you'll find both the tourist crowd that is brought here by its hype, and the Spanish/Catalan crowd that is responsible for the hype in the first place. Having experienced Razz for a year I can tell you it is easily one of the top clubs in Barcelona. The Loft, it's upstairs electrobeats room, is the best of them all with talented DJs from around the world that come to showcase their new music. Notice I said TALENTED, they don't have to be famous to be incredible. Sure it can be pricey, but only if you don't know your way around the system. There is always discounted entrance, check out their Facebook page for details. Best advice is to drink BEFORE you arrive, make sure your drugs are concealed and just HAVE FUN!! TALK TO PEOPLE!! Maybe I went on a bad night, but I've had better club experiences. However, the size of this place is still a reason you should stop by and check it out. Razzmatazz is in an odd area of Barcelona, and it feels kind of industrial. This translated into atmosphere of the club. It feels like it was just an old warehouse reconstructed into a gigantic, multi-room funhouse. The environment was therefore pretty casual and grungy. The cover was 17 euros for only one drink, which is more than I'd like to pay, but we still ended up buying drinks in the club (a fun night would definitely require more than one drink!). The room we stayed in the longest was some sort of electronic house DJ, which I really liked. It was a weekend night so the club was surprisingly empty, because a lot of the other rooms were nearly empty or not as full as I would imagine a popular club to be. That and the multitude of creepers (typical) was probably what made my night there mediocre. Judging from the reviews of this place though, I'd really like to come again to experience the good side of it! read more

Sugar Plum Fairy Land! At least that was the theme of the night as presented on the flier. It definitely was that type of atmosphere when you walk into... I mean, dance into the main floor. That was a pretty cool feature that I haven't seen in a night club before. As you dance in a very crowded dance floor there is also entertainment happening on stage. Music was pretty awesome, they played some top 40's and some funky tunes. Need a break? It's all good there is a floor upstairs that is reserved for people to take a break or catch a smoke. I have only been to Sala 3, so perhaps this is a biased review. Razzmatazz is an enormous complex with many distinct rooms and venues. Each area has different bands/DJs, so a variety of styles are presented. Sala 3 hosts live bands. The room is well suited for this type of show -- it's very large, with a raised stage, so it is easy to see the band even from the back of the room. While spacious, the room is very warm when nearing capacity. I was here for a sold out show in June, and everyone was dripping sweat. Drink prices were a bit pricey, but not too bad for a club. The bar is poorly situated. Its placement next to the entrance creates a huge bottleneck of people when entering the venue, as you have to move around the bar lines to see the stage. Lines getting into the venue were short, but bar lines were very long, even though the bartenders were working quickly, and it took forever to exit the venue, funneling 1000+ people out of one entrance... Despite the lines and the heat, I would go back here. I noticed some good EDM acts booked in the other rooms, so it's on my list for my next trip to Barcelona. read more

I didn't go to a club for years before going to Razzmatazz. Based on what we were told, the location is known to be sketchy. Aside from that, Razzmatazz is nothing but a good time! I paid 20 euro to see Knife Party, which also included a free drink (beer or hard). The place was flooded with people without a care in the world, taking in the whole experience. We had to leave at 5AM, but there was no signs of the club shutting down any time soon. My night at Razzmatazz was one of my most memorable nights during my study abroad trip. The chill vibe of Razzmatazz was a nice change of scenery from places like Opium, which has extremely strict dress codes on their busiest nights. I highly recommend going at least once! read more

First thing, clubs in Barcelona start at 12-1am! Coming from California, that was a shock to me because we Californians are in bed by 2am. So fellow Californians, go at 12 am because you will be partying until 5am!!! Sleep during the siesta, usually between 2-4pm. This is the biggest night club in Barcelona! It had 5 dance floors, although the locals say that there are 7... we couldn't find the last two -_- The night that I went, we saw Alpa Beat an up and coming band in Europe! It was about 20 euros to get into the club. The drinks were about 5 euros each. The main dance floor is massive, and there were tons of people. It was not overly crowded, so that was nice. The most original nightclub in Barcelona. Many different room with different style of music. The atmosphere is really cool, and the place huge !!! The music is more electro, pop or rock, so if you want something more latino or commercial it's not the good place! If you are in Barcelona, you have to try it ! I love Razz, i like the room options and how big it is.. honestly though i only very drunk it's In poblenou area, this club has 5 rooms I believe. Very popular. It's pretty huge, I've gotten lost a few times. each room caters to different music. Downstairs usually is for performances or special DJ's and would play the more commercial hits if they play them at all. Then they have like an 80s music room, techno, pop, and something else lol. Love this place though, it's great. If you're visiting and particular about music I'd check to see who's playing to make sure you like it. Female bartender was rude and treated people who pays like worse sort ( with the ticket you have free drink but I lost mine). She didn't give the change for a drink.
