Otto Zutz is not the absolute best club in Barca. It's probably not even in the top quartile, honestly. But, it was walking distance from home, and that counted for a lot. I always had different coupons to get in (pick em up at shops and bars and restaurants all over the place, you will encounter stacks everywhere), so I don't recall ever paying a cover. The three floors of various music can be confusing but simultaneously fun, depending on who you're with and what state of mind you are in! It's a good place to start off the night, or to go for an random night of dancing. Heavy pours at the bar for sure, but I found that's pretty typical all around the city. Easy door, no face control type BS that you might find elsewhere, and a steady crowd of locals makes it a good and not brutally expensive night out! read more

The service, DJ sets, and experience are all mediocre. On certain nights, an open bar is promised until 1:30am. However, the club doesn't always keep to its promise and has closed the open bar on me up to half an hour before the said time. The DJ has poor transitions in between songs -- I'd be dancing and then stop for 10 seconds as the DJ made the awkward switch from one song to the next. Not only that, but the song choice isn't the most fun to dance too -- a lot of outdated music is played. The club gets too crowded -- people were crammed full in the VIP area when I last went and would accidentally push open the metal bar separating the VIP and GA areas, which would then hit unsuspecting dancers. Also, my experiences at Otto consist mostly of people pushing their way through the crowd and through my group of friends half the time. Not fun. read more

I was in this club for all of five seconds when I walked into a broken glass bottle on the floor and cut open my big toe. The bouncers and security were very helpful in pouring some mixture on my toe, shoving some cottonballs into the wound, and slapping on a bandaid that wouldn't even stay on because my foot was saturated with blood before yelling, "HOLA! Done!" and calling it a day. This ended my night. I'm sure if this hadn't happened I would've perhaps had a swell night at Otto Zutz, but ladies with the open toed sandals beware and Otto Zutz please keep your establishment safe. read more

Trash club. Rude staff. Overpriced. Spend your money elsewhere. One of the most shocking experiences- the price of 2 vodka shots is 8€, I asked for a glass of ice on the side because the bartender refused to chill the shots and was charged another 6€ for the ice. Completely ridiculous. When I asked why the bartender immediately became confrontational and summoned a bouncer who then tried to take my credit card by force and threatened me physically. They didn't realize I spoke Spanish and spoke openly in front of me about the ease of scamming American tourists. Be careful at this place. read more

I give 3 stars when I don't have the full details. :) Read about this online, did lots of hunting to find what I hoped would be a Top40/hiphop kind of place although "hiphop" means something entirely different around the world, especially in Europe. Taxi cabs do know where this is, no problem. Pronounced "otto zhusz" not "zootz" based on how the driver said it back to me. On arrival -- surrounded by other bars and clubs. LINE IS LONG. On a Friday night, got there at 1 am, line was AROUND THE BLOCK. And filled with 18 year olds, and some kids we suspected to be under 18. So even though people don't go out until late apparently you still need to be in line at least an hour before -- kids brought booze in plastic cups and bags from the store and drank in line. Clothing was a mix of edgy streetwear and casual. I didn't want to pay VIP so ... Recommend you get in line at 11 pm to get in in a decent time frame; we stood in line for 30 min and one group gave up; otherwise we probably moved about 1/8 of the distance in the line during that time. So we peaced out, got warmed up at a bar, then hit another lounge. read more

Came here with some friends who are visiting Barcelona and was disappointed. We got there around 1:45 am. Not sure if club promoters mean nothing here or what, because they charged a 20 euro cover that only got us one drink. It's a club, and an average one at that. Looks even worse in relation to the price. Admittedly, the music on different levels was cool. However, the club was packed and at times you had to avoid stepping on broken glass, so look out if you do go. On the bright side, the bathrooms were clean and the attendant was nice. The Barcelona club scene certainly has more to offer beyond this, and I would highly recommend looking elsewhere if you're planning on going out. read more

15 euro cover charge which included one drink in a thin glass filled with ice cubes. Me and my friend got there 12:30 am and we were practically the only ones at the club. The crowd got there after a little while. We had a really great time, and this place is definitely worth a visit if you want to visit a club in Barcelona. I don't remember much about this experience - so it must have been fun. I do remember the 20 euro cover charge - (at least there was a drink ticket to go with it - and a heavy-handed drink pourer, thanks)... there may (or may not) have been 3 levels of dancing with more 80's or retro music on the top most floor - which is where my group gravitated. Mr. red shirt - thanks for the dance! Italian trio - well, since one of you took off with one of our friends, we were left with a duo... i think i was dancing with roberto? hmmm i don't remember his name... i don't even know what he was saying - i just said "keep talking to me in italian" because everything sounds better in italian, right? This club was the closest thing to my beloved late great Club Cherry (at the Love Lounge and the Playroom in West Hollywood) of the late 90's/early 2000's... Cherry was always my benchmark. This place came very close. it was daylight when we walked out. and i was happy, smiling, and then met the most beautiful man in the world while trying to figure out what to do next... This place used to serve breakfast in the morning if you danced until dawn. Today the club leans toward the "big beat" of the Crystal Method and 80s remixes by Fat Boy Slim. They stopped the foam parties. Its first come first serve with no bouncer politics. read more

This club is incredibly stupid. Our hostel promised us free shots but when we got in, they would not provide them. In addition, there are no locals. It s all awkward sweaty tourists who are horrible dancers and are only functioning off of their hormones. Worst club I've even been in my whole life. We made an 1h queue for the wardrobe, and then they said it was full so we had to go upstairs and wait AGAIN. The only room worth to be was the hip hop one (I don't enjoy that kind of music but the atmosphere was OK), the other rooms were completely random music. How the hell can you play rock+ed sheeran+pop etc? The service and attention of people working there was really bad specially in the bar, we asked for 2 drinks and the girl just gave us 1 and it was not what we asked for and after complaining she said we did not pay when we paid both of them. Outside there are people asking you to shut up all the time because it seems like they had the brilliant idea to run a club in a residential area. Nice club, good selection, amazing people, different music styles.

We got a table and after paying over 700 euros for bottles, the service was terrible. For 2 hours we waited for a hookah tip. One worker told me to calm down when I was calmly explaining that we still haven't gotten the tip yet. Then we kept getting pushed by workers who were walking back and forth through the tables and stepping on our toes and shoving us aside. You'd think they would inconvenience the people in the general area but no they decide to shove the VIP people. What a terrible experience this was I definitely recommend people to find a different club because the employees at this one will break your toes and shove you around no matter how much money you spend here. read more
