This imaging center has the best hours. My MRI appointment was at 8:30pm on a Friday evening. They have convenient hours and are flexible with making and modifying appointments. The front desk team are outstanding. The ladies are welcome, kind and knowledgeable. My MRI technician was nice but he didn't provide step by step guidance on what was going on with my MRI. I was inserted into the machine, minutes later I heard the knocking of the machine scanning me. The space and comfort equipment appeared to be dated. Shima Goswami has evidently never written a radiology analysis before, or neglected to look at my previous MRI, which included actual measurements of my achilles tendon tears. When I phoned RAYUS to ask if I could get these measurements, I was told my doctor would have to request them. Hmm, I fail to see why I can't have access to basic data from a procedure I PAID FOR. Skip this center and go to one with better service. read more

I was referred to this location by a new doctor I was seeing but after my experience here, this is will be my first and last time visiting. Parking at this particular shopping center can be difficult but it does have a few reserved spots for patients which makes it a bit easier. I'll start be saying that the workers were very kind, easy to work with and very accommodating during the scan. Unfortunately I had way too many issues that made an urgent situation turn into a nightmare. All in all, I was scheduled incorrectly, my email address was recorded incorrectly, as was my address. I needed discs to give to my doctor after the appointment which they are unable to provide due to the system being down. That's fine, I opted to come back another day. I called ahead to ensure that the discs would be available at the front desk. It looks like they may have a general number for all locations. So I was asked to specify the location in which i would be retrieving the discs. I informed them of the location and was told they will be available to pickup in 20 minutes time. I arrived 5 hours later since I was working that day and there were no discs to be found. I had to wait 45 minutes for them to make the discs. I also had to call to gain access to the portal due to the email situation. All in all, there were just too many mistakes to return that resulted in a lot of miscommunication. Once again, the associates were friendly and I felt well taken care of during the actual scan but I would rather return to my previous location. read more

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Rayus was so disturbing that I feel obligated to warn others. Their equipment is completely unreliable. At my first appointment, I spent 1.5 hours inside the MRI machine before it broke mid-scan, leaving me without the test I needed. To make matters worse, their CD burner was broken on two separate occasions, meaning I couldn't even get the records I needed. Instead of taking accountability, Rayus falsified my medical report to say that I had terminated the exam - which was a complete lie - their machine broke. When I asked them to correct it so insurance would cover the test, I was treated like the problem rather than the victim of their broken equipment. On top of that, their staff gave me contradictory medical information. At my appointment in August, I was told it was safe to breastfeed immediately after IV contrast and did so. At my October appointment, I was suddenly told I must pump and dump for 24 hours. Imagine the anxiety that caused me knowing I had fed my baby immediately afterwards after being given the OK by their staff previously. This kind of inconsistency is unacceptable and dangerous. Because of that broken machine, I was forced to reschedule and come back a second time, a hugely inconvenient and stressful experience after already losing hours in their scanner the first time. At this rescheduled appointment on October 4, 2025, I was treated even worse. A technician openly called me a "problem patient" in front of others, clearly because I had insisted they fix their falsified report. When I called him out and said I had heard what he said, he lied to me and said he was referring to another patient. So it's ok to talk badly about any of your patients in front of other patients? The Staff also violated HIPAA by disclosing another patient's private medical details to me (saying the man ahead of me was "having his knee scanned"). The Director of Operations, Summer Rivas, failed to follow through on every promise. She acknowledged their wrongdoing regarding the falsified report and said she would send me a corrected report, then claimed she couldn't send it (after I followed up multiple times after not receiving it) because she had "dropped her laptop." She promised to personally be at my follow-up appointment to ensure things "went smoothly" because of all their wrongdoings - incorrect medical advice, broken machine, falsified medical report, lies to cover up their mistakes - but when I tried to reach her after she did not show up and the technicians had no idea why I was there, she gave another excuse, this time that she had "dropped her phone in the toilet." Perhaps they should consider hiring an operations director who doesn't consistently "drop" and break all of her work equipment every other day. Between broken machines, broken CD burners, falsified records, HIPAA violations, mistreatment, and repeated excuses from Summer Rivas, this facility has proven itself to be incompetent, dishonest, and unsafe. If you value your health, privacy, and dignity, avoid Rayus Radiology at all costs. read more

The reason I'm leaving this review is because of Nicolette T, the technologist I dealt with today was the rudest I've ever encountered, and because of her behavior, I will never return to this location. I am a patient who has undergone four back surgeries and currently have three screws in my back. My most recent surgery was in August. Lately, I've been experiencing pain that radiates from my back down to my toe, so my doctors ordered multiple MRIs for my hips, knees, and feet. I have done three MRIs prior to this one at a different facility, and the experience there was beyond excellent. The staff was caring, attentive, and professional. Unfortunately, today's experience at Rayus was the complete opposite. I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment for an MRI on my left foot so I could take my time filling out forms and updating my doctor's information. The receptionist was friendly and pleasant; we even joked about the toys on her desk. Everything was smooth until the radiologist appeared. She interrupted me while I was finishing my forms, even though the remaining questions were important, and refused to let me explain that I needed to update the referring doctor's information. She said she would "help later," but her tone was dismissive. As we walked to the changing area, she casually said, "You're doing the right foot today, right?" I corrected her; it was my left foot. I found this unprofessional, as confirming the correct body part should be the first step of any imaging procedure. She handed me the gown and told me to wait, but her tone was so mechanical that I didn't even hear her say it. When I walked to the MRI area, she was laughing and chatting with colleagues, but as soon as she saw me, her expression changed. She snapped, "I told you to sit down and wait for me," in a tone that made me feel like I was being scolded rather than treated as a patient. When I asked, "Wait where?" she didn't have a clear answer, just an irritated look. I again tried to mention my doctor's information so the report could be sent correctly, but she cut me off mid-sentence with a loud, impatient, "Do you have any metal in your body?" When I attempted to continue, she repeated the question even louder. Inside the MRI room, I asked for a pillow for my back, which I've always been provided during previous MRIs due to my spinal surgeries. She ignored me several times, then finally said, "You have to lay down first, then I'll give you one, but I'm not sure any of them will fit." I could clearly see three or four different pillows in the room, so I pointed to them and said, "You can't give me one of these?" Only after I firmly explained that I have three screws in my back and that I've had multiple MRIs recently, all of which provided proper support, did she finally give me a pillow. Even after that, she asked me for the third time which foot we were scanning. By that point, it was clear she wasn't paying attention or taking my situation seriously. This entire experience was unnecessary, disrespectful, and stressful, especially for someone managing chronic pain and a history of spinal surgeries. The lack of empathy and professionalism from this radiologist completely overshadowed the kindness of the front desk staff. Because of her behavior, I will not be returning to this location, nor will I recommend it to anyone. Patients deserve to be treated with respect, especially when they are in pain. read more

Billing system is horrible. They told us a procedure was not covered by insurance and had to sign some form. Apparently it was covered by our insurance, now they're making us pay them and request a reimbursement for our insurance instead of just submitting the charge normally. They don't care billing and accounting is horrible. Do not go here. read more

My husband and I have had repeated negative experiences here and despite living one block away, we will never use this facility again. We were told false information multiple times that resulted in time wasted and unnecessary costs at our expense. This current experience is a disgrace and has created a catastrophic amount of stress. The "manager" is supposedly Summer who is rude and dismissive. Refused to give me her supervisor or manager information. Told me she would tell "Jarrod" - whoever that is to contact us and two weeks have passed. I go to the location in person and they tell me they don't know any names of anyone but Summer. This is still an ongoing, unresolved issue and I'm likely going to have to dispute with my insurance company. I know at least a portion of this recent MRI is unusable and even the radiologist working for the company uses the term "blurry" to describe that portion. While my husband was in the machine, they did not monitor the results and did not ask him to try to be even more still in an effort to get a clearer scan. We have been lied to, told false information, and given no opportunity to speak to someone else who can assist us. It is frustrating to try to resolve an issue with someone speaking dismissively and rudely to you when this is a critically needed scan to help with very serious health issue that I struggle with daily. I'm hitting a wall trying to resolve this in a timely manner for appointments I've waited months for. Strongly suggest going anywhere else than here. read more

First time visiting Rayas. A few observations. The front desk woman was engaged in personal conversations loudly the entire time--I now know all about her life. I was quoted $125 when I scheduled my appointment and noted it in my calendar, but I was charged $150. I'll be requesting a refund. For comparison, The Radiology Clinic in Rockville charged $100 for a calcium score. The scan went fine, but I will not return. read more

Have been here twice now and will say the experience has been pretty good. They typically tend to have loads of times and if you call them enough, they usually have cancelations and can get you in way earlier. The first time I went was a Friday evening and so the MRI results weren't available until Monday. The second time I went in, it was Friday morning (first appointment) and my MRI was read within hours. Staff is friendly and helpful here too. read more

I had a horrible experience when I came here about a month ago. I was brought in by ambulance from a neighboring hospital because their machines have a high weight capacity. When I was brought in a staff member named Dan immediately said we cannot take her and told emt to take me to a hospital. When the EMT asked why he repeated himself and told them to take me to a hospital. When the EMT asked again. Can you tell us why he said we cannot lift her and he kept saying her her and EMT informed. Dan that I could walk and I informed Dan that I could also speak because Dan wasn't talking to me. Dan wouldn't even look at me. I felt humiliated in front of an office full of people that this was happening at. The walk ended up being very short. I walked to the table and a younger Asian guy reached his hand out to help me get on the table. Meanwhile, Dan sat in the back with his back towards me the entire time not addressing me and not saying anything. I would not recommend this place to anyone that is looking to be treated kindly. read more

I had a brain and orbit MRI done here. I told the person scheduling the exam that I am not claustrophobic but am severely needle phobic and was worried about the contrast IV. On the day of the exam, my husband came with me to help ease my anxiety. I told the tech that I'd like to have my husband with me. I could tell that English was not the tech's native language and he started to hand my husband scrubs. We clarified that I was the one having the exam and that I wouldn't need scrubs as I wasn't wear clothing that contained metal. He still made me take my sweatshirt off (I had a t shirt underneath it). I told the tech about my needle phobia, and he said "What are we going to do". I laughed and said well, I'd like my husband with me when you do the IV. The first part of the exam was fine (no contrast) but I was freezing and not offered a blanket. The tech came back to do the contrast IV. He did not take me out of the head contraption nor did he bring my husband with him. He couldn't find a vein and finally had to put the IV in my hand. I broke out into a cold sweat. I told him this and he said "I know". No reassurance. He did it answer when I asked where my husband was. He put me back in the machine and I a few minutes later I felt nauseous. I hit the panic button and. I one came. I hit the panic button twice, no one came. Finally I kept squeezing the panic button and someone ran into the room. I said I needed to use the bathroom and they told asked if I could wait 2 more minutes, the exam was almost done. I knew this was a lie and got up to run to the bathroom. When I returned, they finished the exam (not 2 more minutes). The front desk staff was nice but please train your techs to be more compassionate. read more

My experience with the Arlington location was mixed. The front desk staff is.. well... not trained in customer service or customer care and are very transactional. Shame on management for this oversight and lack of training. To start off, I was given an appointment at 11 50 am on a specific Saturday. A few days before I got a text reminding me of mt 12 Noon appointment. Wonderful! I figured 1150 was the show up time that the woman gave me... so I showed up at 1145 am... and when I checked in the woman at the front desk said wow you are really early youll have to wait... im like... 20 min is not really early .. and she said... oh no your appointment is 1240. WHAT? She said the system has people arrive really early.. yeah no...my appointment was scheduled at 1150 and shes like well sorry... that happens sometimes...so I made a new appointment for the following Friday. I fill out all the paperwork so that I dont have to do it my next visit... and The system sent me a reminder for 20 minutes before... that works! I get to the appointment 10 minutes before ( vs 20) and the woman at the front desk tell me Im late...what?? she then hands me a clipboard to "fill out the paperwork". I kindly say Ive dont that... she looks at the system and "humps". "Ok fine". I offer my credit card and she humps... im not sure why... she takes it... and proceses my papyment. And as I waiting for the paper to print that she says I need to sign I ask for the parking pass and she humps again. Ugh. She throws the pass onto the counter. I put it in my car, come back and still waiting for the paper to print. NO worries. I sign it and sit til 15 minutes after my 5 minute appointment and am taken back. Now, the woman who did my procedure was great.. I mean really great! I walking out the the man at the counter says, mame you need to pay before you leave... ?? I say I paid on the way in... he says well let me check... and 10 minutes later he says... you are good to go.. UGH! read more

Went to do MRI today and got no images. They blame me for moving, while I was not (in my opinion). Insisted on seeing the blurred images and tech parameters. they refused to give me any images saying the machine did not save them (Bevery). I would like to examine the images and the parameters, but they refuse. I am not spending another 30 minutes in this machine. Also, what about the technician? I did not get any indication during the scan that I was moving from him. He said he needs "additional" images after the scan. I refused. At the desk at 8AM they said they only have three images, and it is not enough!!! so they will not save them! Follow up: a represenative called me two days later and told me that, according to the technitian1)I was not on time and came late 2) I got scared and did not want to stay in the machine full time for the imaging 3)was moving my toes so the fronal? images are blurry and they do not have any other images4) refused to provide me any images or a written report saying, "it is enough for you to get a phone call". I request whatever images I have and the year of the MRI mashine was made ad the parameters the technitian used on my foot MRI. I insist that I was on time (arrived at 6:45AM, signed all paperwork at 7AM-the date and the time is on my consent, my exam was at 7:30AM, the technitian came to me at 7:50 AM with the request of "additional" images. I refuse to give them another chance since in allocated 25 minutes they could produce any(!) good image. I was offered to redo the test, but I will not do it at this facility. read more

I felt like things went well on the day of the scan, but it turns out I was wrong. After completing the whole process and receiving the images on DVD, my doctor received no report. In their system they said that the test was aborted. When I called RAYUS to find out what was wrong, they claimed that I had been claustrophobic and the test had been ended early and I had been sent home with whatever images were available. I have no idea what they are talking about. When I said to the person on the phone that this just did not happen, she said she needed to get the office manager involved, then left me on hold and I eventually hung up in frustration. Fortunately, because I had ALL the images, the doctor was able to see everything they needed to see and the whole thing was okay in the end. I almost never post reviews and I'm doing it because (1) I didn't even know to worry about stuff like this, so everyone remember to get your DVD of images and don't trust them to get things right on the back end; and (2) anyone with less helpful doctors and/or worse insurance might have experienced a total loss, MRIs are expensive. read more

What a great facility! They squeezed me in for a contrast abdominal MRI. From arrival, I was in the imaging room within 30 minutes. My technicians were Donta and Genet....two wonderful people. They were professiona but calm and friendly. I was nervous...not about the MRI (I am not claustrophobic) but mostly about the catheter and what the radiologist might find. Turns out, Donta is a wizard with the needle and Genet talked to me the whole time. The entire procedure went off without a hitch! Total time. About 2 hours. And get this! I had my radiology report by the end of the day. So far, so good. Follow up with my regular physician in a week. I can't recommend this facility enough! will definitely go back if I need any other procedure. Very satisfied. read more

Overall, a truly horrible experience. When I called to make the appointment, the woman who answered the phone said "that's it?" when I told her the reason my doctor wrote on the MRI order. My appointment was scheduled for 6:00am and they asked that I arrive around 15 minutes early to fill out some paperwork. I arrived at 5:45am to find that the door was closed and the lights were off. Once the receptionist finally arrived (around 6:15am) he did not acknowledge me or the other patient that was waiting alongside me. No apology for any inconvenience or anything. When I was finally checked in, I was told that there was no paperwork to be filled out so I sat and waited. Thirty minutes after my appointment time, a different man called me back and said "hurry up" as I limped to the door (I have an injured knee and am unable to walk properly). Finally, after my scan was completed, I was handed some paperwork to complete. This paperwork consisted of a medical history as well as a consent form. THEY DIDN'T ASK MY MEDICAL HISTORY OR HAVE ME SIGN A CONSENT FORM BEFORE THE SCAN! Unprofessional, rude, and I'm fairly certain illegal actions by each member of the staff I interacted with. I dont like giving terrible ratings, but perhaps this will help someone. Worst experience EVER. Let me start the best with the best thing about this office. There was a gentleman and a lady working at the front desk that were very cordial and friendly. The man, who was subbing for someone that was out sick, gave me great directions after Google Maps sent me to a different street. He was pleasant and very gracious, as was the lady who was also working at the front counter, checking patients in and out. However, everything went downhill after that. The facility is under construction which I completely understand, but there has been no thought as to how to manage the customer experience and keep things organized. Things are stacked up everywhere, which would normally be no big deal but it's indicative of a larger problem with staff and management. I've been to countries that have socialized health care and this office looked EXACTLY like them. I was led to a hallway while the technician asked my weight? He then handed me scrubs (presumably based on.my answer to the weight question) and told me to walk down the hall and "find him" after I put them on. The "changing room" was an exam room full of equipment. Here's where it gets interesting: The most disturbing issue was that the technician had the wrong paperwork ( for someone named Elizabeth?? I found out later), and was INSISTING that I needed TWO separate tests- one that was 20 minutes and one that was 45 minutes, and THAT one included an injection (with contrast). He also told me to think of a " happy place" and to go there when putting me in the very small, closed-in MRI machine. I didn't realize I was claustrophobic until I went in and then I had to push the alert to get brought out, almost immediately. There was a larger machine, more open there, but it was not available. It was not until I was leaving and talking to the front desk person then I realized that the attendant had SOMEONE ELSE'S PAPERWORK as he was CALLING for me in the waiting room. Then I got angry and asked him for my paperwork and he hesitated in giving it to me. He had used SOMEONE else's PAPERWORK for ME, possibly named Elizabeth??!!. That's just basic incompetence. I didn't realize how pleasant an MRI could be until I went to MRI of Reston yesterday. Completely professional staff. Pleasant surroundings and the polar opposite experience from this place. I called the next day to 1) make sure I was not charged for this debacle and 2) to let someone know what had happened. The young lady that answered the phone promised to have a supervisor called me. It is now 5 days later and I have not heard from anyone. Frankly, I'm not surprised. SHAME ON YOU. Patients go to you when they are hurting and need help, not more frustration and incompetent, insensitive staff. Run away and DO NOT use this facility! Go check out your competitors, Insight Imaging, you could learn A LOT. Oh, and by the way, my out of pocket costs were less than half of what this place was planning to charge. read more

Both front office and technology staff are friendly and professional. However the chairs in the reception area, and even in the back, I noticed, are worn out and visibly dirty - the furniture is badly in need of deep cleaning or replacement. Insight imaging was fantastic due to their amazing staff. I went here there the evening and was well greeted by the woman who was the secretary as well as by the technician. They have such a amazing and clean office space. Perhaps I must say this is one of the best Imaging centers I have been to in the DMV area by far. I was here two years and I must say they have a much friendlier staff and cleaner office space. They also have a nice little coffee maker as well as some hot chocolate. It's best to get your imaging done after 8pm (they close at 11!) there is nobody here after 8 pm which makes the wait time a breeze! We had to stay right till 11 pm and I'm very happy how the staff didn't rush us and did their job in a professional and patient manner. I will be back again as I mentioned before evenings are best here. I would recommend this spot because they accommodate to those with busy schedules and are flexible due to being open till late! read more

I went in for an MRI. I was immediately checked in and then taken back. I had previously filled out the forms on the online portal and I wore metal free clothes so we went straight to the scanner. I injured one of my arms. My doctor thought that the injury might be more serious than he originally evaluated, and sent me to do an MRI. I wish he did not. I will describe my experience here, and knowing it, you will make your own conclusions. When I made an appointment, I specifically asked if I need to prepare anything before the appointment - not eat, drink water, and so on. I was told that all I had to do was to arrive a few minutes earlier to do the paperwork. When I arrived (on time), I found out that I was supposed to be there a half hour before the appointment in order to apply the contrast medication. The staff told me that they have to rush and that I will have to do my paperwork after the appointment. I was taken to a changing booth and given clothes to change into. I was told to leave all of my clothes in the locker. When I opened the locker that was offered to me, it was covered in black dirt. When I touched it, it made my hands dirty. I did not want to put my nice clothes into a locker like this and ended up giving them to a family member who came with me. When I changed and arrived at the room where they apply the contrast medication, the staff told me that they gave me wrong clothes and to change again. Please note - with an injured arm putting clothes on and taking them off is not painless, to put it mildly. Nothing was explained to me about the procedure. I was introduced to Dr. Djamil Fertikh who was going to apply the contrast medication. From there, things went from bad to really bad. Because the staff did not let me do my paperwork before the procedure, they did not know about the preexisting conditions and did not bother to ask. Dr. Djamil Fertikh applied something that looked like a large napkin over the area for injection, and that napkin covered my face as well. Dr. Djamil Fertikh then proceeded to inject one dose of lidocaine into my shoulder. Without bothering to ask whether or not the lidocaine worked, Dr. Djamil Fertikh injected a long thick needle into my shoulder joint and started applying the contrast medication. Had Dr. Djamil Fertikh bothered to ask, he would have known that at least 4-6 dozes need to be injected for the anesthesia to work. Exposure to prolonged period of very severe pain caused an usual reaction - my blood pressure dropped to almost zero, and my heart started stopping. Dr. Djamil Fertikh did not notice that, probably because he did not care, even though I screamed from pain. But my face was covered by his napkin, and he could not see it. I did not want to die from an MRI procedure, and had to (repeatedly!) ask Dr. Djamil Fertikh to stop. After that, the nurse tried to apologize (Dr. Djamil Fertikh did not, he just left the room) and tell me that "he is really good". No, he is not. Needless to say, when I was told to get up and wait for the actual MRI procedure, I felt extremely dizzy, could not see almost anything, and started falling over. The support staff escorted me to the waiting area and tried to force me to put my head between my knees. Again, not knowing a thing about preexisting conditions. Had I let them, I would have likely experienced a stroke. During and after the MRI procedure my arm stopped working altogether. Now, 48 hours later, I still experience severe pain and loss of function. With my physical therapy, we are basically back to square one. All long and hard fought for progress is gone. My insurance will only pay for a certain number of physical therapy sessions. If I have to exceed this number due to the damage caused to me by Insight Imaging and its careless staff, I am going to retain services of an attorney, file a lawsuit, and have Insight Imaging pay for any additional treatments. Mariam was very helpful and kind on my call into the office to schedule two MRI's. She was very patient and entered my contact information. I was offered an appointment the same day if I was available. She was very pleasant. Mariam made a note for the billing office to contact me with my co-pay amount and I received a call very quickly. Jackie called to remind me of the appointment and answered any questions I had for my upcoming appointment. She was very pleasant, kind, and gave me all the time I needed. She made sure I was comfortable about locating the office and kept me informed. Dewey, the Technician, was very kind, knowledgable, professional, and answered all questions before, during, and after my MRIs. I felt fully informed of the process and what to expect during the procedure. Dewey cars about the experience and it shows. Office parking is excellent and both the front desk and mri areas run very efficiently. read more
