My husband, sister, and I did a sampling of Benvenuto's entrees, appetizers, salads, and desserts on a Saturday evening. As we pulled into the carport, a valet greeted us and parked our car. As we entered the restaurant, we were offered a glass of sangria. A wicked thunderstorm knocked out power shortly after we arrived. The gracious staff kept us informed from time to time that we would be seated as soon as everything was up and running again. Our wait was worth it! We started off with Shrimp Cocktail, a Mixed Green Salad, and a Caesar Salad. Next, we were served sample platters of some of the Hors d'oeuvres we will choose for our party. My husband and sister tasted the Mini Crab Cakes, Mozzarella Sticks, Chicken Mini Pot Stickers, and Beef Empanadas. I was able to enjoy several gluten free selections including Crispy Polenta, and some Mini Avocado and Tomato Tacos. The service and food were fantastic! Some warm, fresh bread and butter also was served. For dinner, we each chose a different entree. My sister ordered the Filet Mignon. It was done medium rare just like she requested. My husband tried the Coastal Snapper and enjoyed his choice as well. My pick was the French Cut Chicken Breast served with Black Beans, Corn Salsa, Rice, and Vegetable Puree. It was fantastic! Everything tasted hot and fresh and delicious with generous portion sizes. Throughout our meal, our table was regularly cleared when needed and our drinks refilled promptly. We were rather full after dinner (we took home some leftovers!) but of course we had to have dessert. The Key Lime Pie, Vanilla Creme Brulee (gluten free), and The Granny Smith Apple Tart finished off our feast in sweet style! We toured the facility and also peeked in on a family reunion party in another room. My siblings and I decided to book our mom's 90th birthday celebration at Benvenuto after our visit. Their location is close to I95 in Boynton Beach and they work well with the venue of the wedding so that was added confidence in knowing that the flowers will be fresh and delivered as promised. THE FOOD...The food was sooooo good! The freshness, the textures, the flavors.... it was magical. I ordered doubles and just thought "if all vegan food was this good, I'd be down 3 dress sizes" I also got the soft, flakey roti with stew chicken. There are two types of roti but I forget the names. It was so flavorful, comforting, and made with care. The chicken was tender and the soft, flakey roti just soaked up all the sauces. I'm not going to go into all the details, but this center has been around for a very long time and I have lots of great memories from it. A long time friend of mine had her baby shower there and it was nicely done. The center provides the place for rental and the rest is up to the client on what they want to do with additional fees. The decorations were adorable and the tables were set up beautifully with the food and gifts. There was group about 50 people and it was more than enough room for all of us to move without pushing one another out of the way. The cultural center is one of the main buildings out in the western communities and it's ideal for hosting events such as parties, showers, dances, games, etc. It's very clean and there is a lot of parking available. It still reminds strong and standing for over twenty years and it's a great place for the local residents to consider if they want to have an event or celebration.

One of our group chartered a yacht for six of us, and we spent about four hours cruising and swimming along the Intracoastal. It's a great format for a small group--guests bring their own food and libations, and the crew takes care of everything else. The charter includes a captain along with a stewardess/deckhand, and they were excellent. Attentive without being intrusive, and clearly experienced. They kept things running smoothly, made sure everyone had what they needed, and handled all the serving so we could fully relax. They also added to the experience by pointing out sights along the way, including some of the more over-the-top waterfront homes and yachts--Jerry Jones' (Dallas Cowboys owner) massive yacht being a standout. The boat itself was fantastic--well-maintained and very comfortable, with plenty of space to spread out. Between the bow and aft seating areas, there was room for everyone to lounge, take in the views, or just enjoy being out on the water. They also provide the ice and mixers, which is a nice touch and makes planning easy. From there, it's just show up with your group and whatever you want to eat and drink. All in all, a seamless and very enjoyable experience. It strikes a great balance between feeling a little indulgent while still being relaxed and easy.
