The host for the night was HILARIOUS, making jokes off the people in the front row like Chop Towbin AKA King of Cars! The opening act for Jimmy O. Yang was even funnier, and then for the main event - Jimmy O. Yang had me LAUGHING HYSTERICALLY! I hope one of his shows from the tour ends up on Netflix or Amazon! Some tips for first-timers to the theater: 1. Follow the signs for "The Mirage Theater." Aces of Comedy is in the back (like wayyy back of Mirage). It is pretty much a diagonal B line from the parking garage to the theater. 2. The entry process was a breeze. They scanned our electronic tickets and voila, you're in. All the employees were super nice and guided us right to our seats. 3. The theater is a good, intimate size. Stick with section 102 seats and you can't go wrong. The seats slope upward from the stage. We were in the orchestra section, EE 9 and 10, which was pretty dead center to the stage. To me, these seats were PERFECT and would be the seats I would want to get again! 4. The smell of movie theater popcorn will lure you! Fortunately, I practiced self-restraint as I knew I would be getting popcorn all up in the air as I laughed! Go to the Aces of Comedy and get your LAUGH ON!!! :)

When I found out he'd be performing at the Mirage Casino the same time I was going to be in town, it was a no brainer. I had to go. Fluffy had Martine Moreno and Alfred Robles open up for him and they were amusing but Gabriel was the reason I was there. It was a different kind of show because he shared a lot of personal stuff about what he has been going through recently. I can't imagine how difficult it is to go on stage and entertain an audience with humor when some really heavy changes are happening. Don't get me wrong, the show was hilarious for the most part but really touching as well. I don't want to spoil anything for you before you see him or his next comedy special coming soon. It will be different. Now the venue. The room is just large enough to fit a good size crowd but not so big that sight lines are affected or that you lose that sense of intimacy with the performer. Due to my current mobility issues I required some ADA assistance and the staff really delivered overall. There is a phone number you can call to have security meet you at the north entrance by registration and they will provide you with a wheelchair and wheel you to the theater which is a good distance from the self park garage. The security personnel was very friendly and never made me feel as if it was an inconvenience for them. They brought me up the elevator all the way to my seat upstairs. The staff member in charge at the theater was so sweet and accommodating. She made checking in with my mobile tickets a breeze and provided information on how I would be escorted back to the north entrance after the show was over. Be aware it takes a lonnng time for them to send someone to help you though, before and after the show. ADA seating was very comfortable with wide rolling seats and lots of open space. Even though the seats are in the last row, the view was excellent. Important note: the ushers are hardcore (even the older ladies) and will have you thrown out for talking too loud or yelling at the performers or even worse, recording the show on your phone. They may look like grannies but they will come at you like a pit bull if you act stupid or break the rules. Granny don't play dat'.

It's quite the trek from the garage (pretty much as far as you can get from it) but it's easy to find. Walking up to the door, the people working were super friendly and helpful. The line is well organized and I liked the decor. It felt like a real night out with the old school glamour. Checking our tickets was quick and easy. We were guided right to our seats. There really isn't a bad seat in the house and seats themselves were comfortable and easy to relax in. You pass the bar as you go into the venue, we didn't get anything to eat or drink but the prices seemed reasonable for the strip. The woman in front of us ate two bags of popcorn so it must not be bad. The show itself was great and I liked how they ran things. I'll definitely be back soon.

Tonight I caught the early, 8:30, show headlining Trixx, with Brandon Vestal, and the MC, whose name eludes me now. Vestal was quite good and Trixx was rather good too. The venue supposedly seats 250, and the layout still seems pretty quaint. I don't think there would be a bad seat in the house. That being said, I had purchased a Gold Circle seat and was seated right at the stage. I'll be back next time I am in town.

I frequent another comedy club in town and came here the first time and my group and I were not impressed with the acts. The show was set up more like an open mic night than an actual comedy show. Compared to all the other shows going on in town, this one wouldn't be one I'd recommend.

Was told to hit the box office for my ticket. I waited in line & told the girl I was there to pick up my tickets and had my ID ready to show her. She told me to show my email to the guy @ the showroom enterance. So my man & I went over to the guy and showed him my email. He then asked for my ID & checked my name off the list and told us we were all set. We walked into the showroom (the show was in progress) & there was no one to great us. We had no idea where we were suppose to sit????????? Every other time I have gotten my tickets from this local group we have been greeted by an usher & have been brought to our seats. As we stood there for a few minutes we noticed a security guard & called him over. I asked him where we are suppose to sit & he said "anywhere." So we found us a booth, off to the side wasn't the best view of the stage. The comedian that was performing is who we thought was the main guy but come to find out it wasn't him. LOL He was just opening. He was good too! A cocktail waitress happened to come over my way so I place a drink order. A double vodka, soda & Jack and Coke. She asked if I wanted to leave my tab open I said "sure, as long as you come back." LOL She said she would and she did. We ordered another round of drinks but I got a single vodka this time. I had asked for my tab. She ran my card, brought me my tab & it was $60 and some change. I was shocked! I'm on Freemont street which is a lot cheaper then the strip & we only had 4 drinks, one being a double so lets just call it 5 drinks. I had added a tip on and then asked her to bring me an itemized copy of my bill. I really HATE when a business just brings you the total. I want to see what I'm being charged for as people do make mistakes. I get the itemized copy and 20% gratuity has been added on. WTF?!?!?!?!? The waitress, ANA didn't even bother to tell me that gratuity was added on and I ended up tipping on top of it. Let me tell you I wasn't very happy & found this to be very sneaky. So I went up into their tiny bar to the bartender & said. "Either you guys can take care of this issue for me or I will have my bank." I told the guy my situation & told him I wanted to be refunded my tip that I left since gratuity was added on already. I told him how wrong that is to do without being told. He told me it was on the show tickets. I told him I didn't get a ticket due to the company that I got it thru. I got an email confirmation and I doubled checked it when I got home and no where dose it say that gratuity is automatically added onto drinks. I gave my experience a 2 star rating. One due to not being told that we needed to seat ourselves and that gratuity is added onto your bill. They should have a sign up front when checking in since not everyone is notified of this. Not sure if I would go here ever again for a show.

Their humor and comedic timing were on point. Their energy was next level but still somehow kept everything grounded and fun. My friends and I went to the Comedy Sportz show at Mom's Basement Theater last night and it rocked…read morefrom start to finish. At one point I shouted "golden rocks" and suddenly everyone ran with it. Before I knew it we had "platinum pebbles" and "silver stones" being used in the next bits. The whole show was on a roll and really rocked the crowd. I was laughing so hard! The sound board guy has the best laugh. The ref walks around asking the audience for topics and you just shout them out. They take multiple ideas and use whatever you say for each game so your suggestion might become the bedrock of the next scene. I shouted "Dungeon Crawler Carl" and realized instantly that my choice was way too niche. Still, I stand by it. Anyone in the improv world really should listen to those audibles because there is so much comedy gold in it even though it's a litRPG. When the teams are close the ref calls on the audience to decide. One team said "bear belt" instead of "bear gi" and somehow still got the point while the other team said "paragliding" instead of "hang gliding" and didn't. The ambiance is very inclusive and it's a small intimate venue. They have simple concessions, bottled or canned non alcoholic drinks, candy, and cookies. We also got the chance to stay for the next show for only $5 more, which is a deal since tickets were $15 each. If tickets were a little cheaper we would definitely go more often. Regardless we are already planning our next visit. Maybe next time I will dig deep, find my inner quartz, and be their VIP because this show truly rocks my world.
