I had a new sweep this year and he thought There were some serious issues with the chimney. I had Rocky Mountain chimney come out and examine it, and they were very thorough and walked me through why there were no issues. It is granted an unusual set up, but still within code and no safety issues. I also had them sweep it while they were there and they did a very good job. Pricing was more than reasonable for the inspection which took over an hour and the sweeping. The owner was very professional, and although he hasn't been doing this type of work for many years, I felt very comfortable that he knew very much what he was talking about and that he had been well trained. We will definitely be using them again, would recommend them.

Had them come out and unfortunately was told that my fireplace insert was not up to code, a fire hazard, and unfortunately no need to even preform the cleaning and inspection because it fails already. I was given a few scenarios for removing the insert and it was a "worst case to best case" which was like $20,000 to $0. No chance we would fix a $20,000 repair but figured on the lower like $500 side for a new damper would be worth it. So we had them remove the insert, do a cleaning and inspection. Now here's where some unethical companies may have tried to charge something, anything. But Wise Hook completed the inspection and everything was good and safe, no additional items needed! Seems very honest and came highly recommended, so now I am highly recommending them to you!

I have a shorter, wood burning chimney and had burned creosote buster logs prior to them coming to clean.i had purchased a chimney sweep kit from Amazon but didn't want to get on roof and wanted the top inspected as well so I hired them. They only spent 15 minutes cleaning and inspecting everything. Apparently, it wasn't that dirty although I hadn't had it professionally cleaned since I purchased the home 6 years ago. There was still black marks on the visible portion of fireplace which I thought would be removed for the $230 I paid. I got a generic inspection report but pictures of inside, just chimney cap. I'm glad to hear it was in good shape but disappointed to pay $230 for 15 minutes of work.

I will never use fountain valley mechanical again. I used them to install a new boiler less than a…read moreyear ago. At the time they installed it, they removed the backflow preventer that was connected to the boiler and forgot to reinstall it. This had been installed on the previous boiler and was required by law. It was laying on the floor. I called them back, told them they needed to reattach this as it is required by law and they came back and put it back on. Now approximately six months later, I had a RP backflow inspection that is required annually. The backflow inspection failed and it leaked in the brand new boiler Fountain Valley had just installed. The inspector noticed Fountain valley made a mistake putting two backflow preventers on the boiler now, instead of just the single testable backflow device that should be attached to the boiler. There are now two devices, one that is testable (the one I had them reattach) and one they installed that does not need to be there and is not testable. If someone at fountain valley knew what they were doing they would not have installed the non testable device as it was redundant. I didn't need it and yet I was charged for it. In addition, they turned both valves to the backflow device off causing water pressure issues. I called fountain valley and told them the backflow preventer is leaking and my inspection failed. Matt, the owner came out and proceeded to start yelling at both my plumber and me. He swore at us and used extremely vulgar language claiming they did nothing wrong. They obviously didn't know what they were doing. They installed a duplicate backflow device that isn't testable, messed up my testable backflow device and turned off both valves to the device. I had to pay the inspector/plumber on site to fix all of their mistakes on a brand new boiler. Ridiculous. I will never use them again.
