I had Rocky Mountain chimney come out and examine it, and they were very thorough and walked me through why there were no issues. It is granted an unusual set up, but still within code and no safety issues. I also had them sweep it while they were there and they did a very good job. Pricing was more than reasonable for the inspection which took over an hour and the sweeping. The owner was very professional, and although he hasn't been doing this type of work for many years, I felt very comfortable that he knew very much what he was talking about and that he had been well trained. The job was also never completed, and we ultimately had to hire another contractor to finish the work. What makes this worse is how the payment was handled. The money came from our escrow at the time we bought the house. The check was cashed, and then we were avoided for nearly two years. We were told it was an accounting issue, but we could not get consistent communication or resolution. When Currie finally showed up, the job was still left incomplete. On top of all of that, the interactions were unprofessional. Instead of taking responsibility and making things right, we were met with excuses and shifting stories that felt designed to discredit our concerns rather than solve the problem.
