I have had five bikes serviced by Rays, including two friends' bikes, and my main road bike worked on and serviced twice by them (a top bike for its time but now needing more TLC given its advancing age). Mike and his team are exactly what you're looking for in a bike shop. They'll assess the bike, won't oversell you on what service it really does require, communicate promptly with you if anything unexpected comes up, and get it back to you within their committed timeframes, all for a fair price given the service levels (and I've done everything from a basic service to a full strip down and rebuild service with them). There's been absolutely no issues with any of the bikes post-service and they have ridden perfectly for ages thereafter.
Highly recommended, and I don't know what the other reviewers have experienced but the old adage of, 'you get what you pay for' does apply - paying a little more for an experienced technician to service your bike is a no-brainer when bulk shops are more likely to push it down to someone still learning the ropes. Why take your life in your hands on something like a bicycle service fault? But to be honest, their pricing is equivalent or less to any other good bike shops that I know of in the inner city area. All Rays' staff are extremely knowledgeable and experienced, and passionate riders too. read more
