We were shopping around for a new washer and wanted to purchase from a smaller company versus a big box store. Our hope was we would find a great small business that is an all-in-one operation including standing behind their equipment if we needed repairs in the future. The staff here were friendly and yes; they do have a small service team but we were not satisfied with the quality of the equipment they were selling. We were looking for version of what we currently had - 20-30-year-old Kenmore built-to-last washer that was fully refurbished and ready to go. Well, they had the varieties of the equipment we were searching for but they were beat up pretty bad and God the rust everywhere even on the wash tub and the prices were as much as a new washer from the big box store. On one hand I have to say they are extremely overpriced; however, if you are buying the equipment for the parts or to refurbish them yourself that might be worth it in the long run. A new transmission for our current Kenmore 90 series machine is roughly $212, a basket drive $130, a wash tub $230, and a drive motor $250. If you can salvage some of these parts from an old machine to fix another one or fully refurbish what you got, you'll have a solid washer for another 10 or more years. They just don't make washers and dryers like these anymore! Well, Ray's has been around for a long time now so they must be doing something right. We didn't buy from them but if you're are looking for used appliances that could be fully refurbished, they definitely have a variety to choose from here. read more

I have purchased within two years 3 washing machines and 2 dryers. Now I have recieved 3 dryers becasue the last dryer broke within 90 days and they did bring out a replacement. Well the replacement less than 90 days in has broken as well. The issue Im having is that dryer they say has no warranty. Also the fact that I have had to purchase 5 machines from them and none has made it more than 8 months usually less than 6 months and they have no compensations for that. You would think that they would catch on that they are half fast fixing items then selling them for 250 to 500 a piece. They are stealing. read more

Rays Appliances sent out Rex to our non heating tumble dryer. Rex was great, diagnosed and fixed the dryer in less than 30 minutes. It works better now than it did before as all the heat settings now work rather than than 3 out of the 4 that it had always run on. read more

Called Rays appliance and made a appoi for 2 days later, waited all day no one called or showed up. Called them he had no notes from our previous phone call so he schedules another appointment no one shows up I call and ask what's going on he says they can schedule me for the next day I say I would like if they could come out today being that I was scheduled for the previous day and the day before told me he would call me back and he never did. very unprofessional. Rex came out to fix or replace my ice cube maker. I wanted it replaced since I had the last one for 5 years. In 20 minutes Rex departed for his next service call and instructions to call back if no ice in 24 hours. In four hours the ice bin was filling up with ice. Great job! 5 stars. read more

Called for my washer to be fixed, someone came out and in 15 minutes "fixed" it, charged 138 dollars and left. I go out to see if my clothes are done washing and the washer is dead again! I call only to be told "oh yeah well I thought it might have been the motor"....so you took 138 dollars, told me it was fixed and then when it died AGAIN, you tell me oh it was the motor...and that they don't carry my motor; but I can come buy one of their "refurbished" washers and put the 138 on it! Only for it to break every 3 months and have your company come out to fix it?!?! NO THANK YOU!!! Horrible!! I feel extremely ripped off and taken for a fool!!! My refrigerator quit refrigerating this morning. I called a few appliance repair businesses, and this was the only business I called where I was able to speak with a person who was familiar enough with repairing refrigerators to give me a ballpark estimate of the cost. I was really on the fence as to whether to repair it or go through the expense, hassle and work of replacing the old appliance. A technician quickly showed up at my house and was able to fix the refrigerator in less than an hour, at the estimated price! ***CONSUMER WARNING*** I bought a used stackable washer dryer in October of 2016 from Ray's appliances. The washer is now leaking water and Rays appliance is here for the 3rd time and told me the washing machine cannot be repaired and the entire washer / dryer unit needs to be replaced again. It is just wrong for an appliance repair shop to sell somebody an appliance that they know cannot be repaired without disclosing this important fact to a consumer. read more

I purchased a dryer yesterday for $155 and the total was $205 with the delivery from Sanford to Deltona. I wash some very thin baby clothes this morning and put them in the dryer and the dryer did not dry the clothes at all. I called Ray's Appliance and they told me it's not the dryer it's the vent when in actuality it is the dryer after going back and forth about three times I was told a technician would be out today between 3:00pm and 5:00pm. I would not reccomend this place! They are very rude and shady people! I purchessed a refrigerator from them and after 5 months it broke. They sent a tech out and after 45 min of looking at the refrigerator he told me it was the compressor. He told me my best bet would be to go to the store to see what they have. Went in the store and the guys were just rude. Told me that since my warranty was up they wearnt going to do anything to help. When I originally bought the refrigerator I also bought a washer and dryer spent $500 and I just thought they would be more help then they were. I got 5 months out of the refrigerator and I paid 200 for it! I would not buy your appliance's from here they are liars and in my opinion they sell shitty appliances for way more then its worth! My 3 year old washer suddenly started leaking water everywhere. Did internet search and found Rays and boy did I luck out! He was timely, courteous and very honest when he found a simple error on my part and just charted the $49 trip charge. He could have easily blind sided my by simply taking the machine apart and "finding" something. Its happened in the past with other vendors. It was nice to find an honest repair guy! Very helpful. Excellent, fast and very professional service!!! Our refridgerator started showing blinking lights and we knew something was really wrong. My husband called 3 or 4 Appliance Repair services and we think one was in India but they said they were in Texas. This wonderful company answered right away, asked very little information from us and sent someone within two hours. He as very professional and gave us options. I was very satisfied with Rays Appliance repair. I called them to evaluate my GE Refrigerator and they arrived 3 hours later and diagnosed the problem. I will need to order a part to correct the problem. Rays guy instructed me to first call GE Service to see if I could get the part at a discount. The part retails for $99.00 but GE agreed to sell it to me at cost for $ 35.00 plus shipping. Rays efficiency combined with timely communication made for a hassle free experience. We had an issue with my mother's washing machine and called Ray's Appliances to schedule a tech to come out and assess the issue. I explained over the phone the inside was smoking while the washing machine cycled. What sounded like the same gentleman came out and asked once again what the issue was. We explained the smoking and without looking at the machine or taking any measures to confirm the definite cause of the malfunction, he said it was the bearings malfunctioning but it would be too much of a hassle to take the machine apart and confirm. No additional information was given in person vs. over the phone, yet we were charged a $50 service fee. If you know the issue just based on our verbal description and won't even bother to troubleshoot in person, why not have the professional courtesy to say there is nothing you can do to help. Instead, charge a $50 fee for 2 minutes of your time. Disappointed in this experience with this local business. read more

DO NOT BUY HERE!! My gas dryer broke on a Saturday right before I was going on a long business trip. My wife would need it, so I needed a working Dryer ASAP. I called around and the only place I could find open and with a gas dryer was Ray's, so I went there and found a used gas dryer. They couldn't show me that it worked, as they had no gas connection, but "guaranteed" it would work. I told them that if didn't - I would have to return it, as I needed a dryer now. They said "No Problem." (Also of Note: Their credit card line was "down", so they only accepted cash). Guess what - it was a dud. When I went back, within 2 hours, they refused to refund my money. They said they would "exchange" it - but they had none in stock, nor did they expect any in stock. I left their broken dryer there and told them to mail my refund to me, if they were honest. They never refunded my money nor even called back to offer a working dryer. $200 out the window. So I ended up calling the gas company, who came out on Monday and fixed my old dryer, for less that what Ray's charged me for a broken dryer. Bottom Line: These guys are crooks, so you are taking your chances, if you buy there. read more

I called this company and the man who answered the phone actually knew what he was talking about! My Whirlpool double oven (2 weeks out of one year warranty) just stopped working the day before Christmas Eve. I explained my problem. He told me the computer was screwed up -- to disconnect the breaker and wait five minutes, then reconnect it. It worked! Meanwhile, the WhirlPool Appliance repair center is "closed for the holidays"; Sears Repair (from whom I bought the appliance) can get a repairman to my house by December 26 (for sure, said the customer service person who barely spoke English). And of course, they have no technicians to speak to. Christmas cooking and baking is back in business! Thank God for local businesses who actually provide service! read more

When I needed a washer and dryer for my daughter who was moving her bedridden grandmother here from North Carolina they were so helpful and gave me an excellent price for a heavy duty washer and dryer. Money was tight due to all the relocating expenses plus having to find them a house here to rent that was big enough. He was very fair on the price, held them for me an extra day, and even gave me an extended warranty. This was 1 1/2 years ago and the machines are working beautifully! I went by the Appliance Store to also check and was never treated so rudely in my life!!!! He didn't even acknowledge me walking into the store and there was literally NO ONE else in the store. Then when I let him know I was shopping around he started bad mouthing Ray's and told me to get out of his store after I told him that it wasn't a good idea to down the competion!!! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST! Rex the repair man came out on 2 occasions after failing to repair the dryer BOTH times. He was condescending and rude not only to myself but also to my mother. The dryer wasn't heating and he replaced a part and it worked for a day. During his initial visit he kept pushing this vent cleaning company on me saying the vent MIGHT be the problem (Im sure he gets a kick back for referring), we have a brand new house and a dryer that is 3 years old. In all of my years of home owning and others I've spoken to I've NEVER had to have someone on the roof to clean a vent. He left screws and bolts on the floor after he disassembled and sloppily reassembled the dryer so my toddler could have potentially swallowed a part. It was unsteady until my husband found out where they belonged and fixed it. The second time he came back to my home and my mother was there to let him in, he threw the card on the table and angrily said to her "I told her to call this company"! He worked on the dryer again and said he "fixed it" then slammed the door on the way out. If the vent was the problem then WHY DOES THE DRYER NOT WORK WHEN ITS NOT HOOKED UP TO THE VENT??? He showed up on time, was very courteous and knowledgeable, and after diagnosing the issue, informed me that I would be better off purchasing a new appliance.
