We spent about 6 weeks with her looking at homes; we re-visited a number of houses multiple times trying to find the "right" house for us, all the while asking questions and changing our minds. Jennifer was patient, totally accessible, and amazingly responsive to all our phone calls, texts & emails. Many evenings, after my spouse and I discussed houses we had either toured with her or perhaps viewed on Redfin, we would email Jennifer with a question or comment. To our surprise (and delight) she would most often respond before we went to bed. As we spent more & more time with her looking at places and asking questions, she sensed what we were looking for and focused precisely on our needs and tastes. And finally - when we discovered a home that checked every one of our boxes - she calmly guided us through a very stressful bidding process on a house with multiple offers, culminating in a successful contract! This was not our first rodeo. For better or worse we have moved a lot; four houses and two condos in five different states, and we have generally been satisfied with all our realtors. I was instructed to visit their Rentals page on their website to view more. But when I wrote back telling the representative that I'd actually already done so before contacting them -- and that that page wasn't working. She dismissed it outright -- "we aren't having any difficulties with our website" -- and gave me instructions on how to work the Web page. [?] I responded with thanks, as I know that many people online can need assistance working websites -- although they shouldn't, if it's user-friendly. I also shared that I actually BUILD websites, so know how to work them (so that'd she'd understand that I'm an advanced Web user). I also shared the browser that I'm using (to help them troubleshoot the problem), and described exactly what happens when I tried several times to view the page. The rep responded yet AGAIN that everything was fine with the website, she'd "just visited" their website and "was able to access it just fine...and have had no other complaints." Um. I guess they don't know much about user experience, and that website problems can be BROWSER-DEPENDENT. It seems that they also don't realize (or care to) that "not receiving complaints" is NEVER indicative of user satisfaction. In fact, it's the opposite. Statistics show that the vast majority of people who experience problems with a website (or a company) simply LEAVE SILENTLY. (In this day and age, some of those users also go online to post reviews -- which is obviously not what you want.) Instead of taking this back to their webmaster -- even after I described the exact problem and reported my browser type -- she was adamant that it was just "user error" on my part. Oh well. If this is the aloofness displayed toward potential renters, I won't stay around to see if they actually care for tenants... or simply offload responsibility and imply that it's their own problem.

My wife and I have been living at Wakefield Glen for four months now. We left another apartment…read morecommunity in Raleigh we'd been at for 5 years. During our search, we went to over a dozen other communities, some more expensive than Wakefield, some cheaper. There was no competition, Wakefield Glen was the clear choice. Our tour was lead by Elisabeth. She wasn't the typical uncomfortably pushy sales type we had seen at almost every other community. She patiently answered our questions and let us tour the units at our pace. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgable, and quickly followed up with all of our post-tour requests. The units themselves are gorgeous. The bay windows fill the space with natural light, the units are in great shape from floor to ceiling, and the spacious balcony is one of our favorite features. The grounds are impeccably maintained, covered in trees and flowers that enhance your privacy without compromising aesthetics. The Wakefield neighborhood is neatly tucked away but within 5 minutes of most anything, you'd need. There's plenty of trails and parks to enjoy within walking distance. But the real competitive edge Wakefield Glen has is its staff. Since moving in, every interaction I've ever had with the staff has been positive. It's not just one or two really outstanding individuals, but truly a fantastic team of people. They respond quickly, genuinely work to be as helpful as possible, and go above and beyond any other apartment community I've lived in. Service requests are filled on time, they email you reminders when packages arrive for you, they're vigilant about enforcing the community rules which are far more flexible and welcoming than most communities, and they're an excellent resource all around. Thet engage with resident like they're neighbors. After four months, I can say with confidence that I made the right choice moving here. This complex has really gone down hill in recent months. When we moved in our dryer was not…read moreworking for the first 2 weeks we lived here. We were even paying extra to get a "newly renovated" unit. The paint needed to be redone as well within the first few weeks. Our air conditioner also went out within the first few months. Following that our breaker went out and took days to get it fixed so we had consistent power in our unit. Our ceiling was also peeling and had to be fixed twice. Our banister on the porch was also dangerously loose and the wood was rotting. The repair consisted of a few nails. It is still not very secure. We have also had the same roof leak addressed and it continues to be an issue during storms. Most recently it took multiple maintenance requests for loose steps on our third floor apartment to be fixed. We spent over a month with steps that were dangerous to go down and had a small baby to navigate them with. Over all very disappointed.
