I go for the water aerobics/ pool is super clean, well heated- and locker rooms are clean. Can't beat the sauna. Very friendly front desk and great customer service. There is an app to use to register for classes- makes it very easy to see schedules and book a class. Make sure to register as if less than 5 do the class get canceled!! read more

Building is somewhat hacked up, entry to the pool area is only accessible through the locker rooms. Narrow halls, weight area is at the very back of the complex. My boyfriend and I moved to the area last year and wanted a gym with more to offer than your typical gym. We decided to try out Raynham Athletic Club, and we LOVE IT! It's very clean, the staff is very friendly and they have group classes for everyone! My boyfriend usually does lap swimming for his workout and I get to use the equipment, so it's a win win. When there aren't classes taking place, there is a large studio upstairs that is great for people (like me) that like to do more private workouts. I've been a membersince September of 2010. I've only been a member of one other gym, so I can't compare too much with others but can sum up my experience here. 90% of the time I work out in a group class. They do have a lot of different classes and have classes most weekdays during the early morning (6am-7am-ish), the late morning (9am-11am-ish), and evening (5pm to 8pm-is). I need to classes to keep me motivated to work out for at least 60 minutes and really push myself. I love the weight classes and the Zumba classes - the Zumba instructor Jackie is reason enough to go to this gym! I really love the instructors and the classes. Some classes are really popular and because they have specific number of required equipment (spinning and Wavemaster boxing classes), you must sign up on-line ahead of time to reserve your spot. The one thing that I haven't been really excited about is that they've been changing the location of the classes quite a bit. Last week I asked at the front desk as I was arriving where a certain class was taking place and they said the big gym. I waited a couple of minutes because no one was there and then noticed people who are usually taking the class with me walking by me and going up the stairs to the smaller studio room. Sure enough, the class was actually upstairs. Also, they just announced that they are adding a new type of class, so I'm wondering if they'll be dropping something or really adding new classes. They do have a large exercise room with treadmills, elipticals, stationary bikes, and some weight machines. I've used the treadmills, elipticals, and stationary bikes and find them easy to use. I can program a workout on each of these machines for a specific amount of time and can vary the type of workout I want to do. Some of the machines, but less than half I would say, have a small color TV attached to them and you can either watch them using the closed captions or plug your own set of earplugs into the machine and watch. I find that watching the TV while using these machines makes the time go by so much faster. They also have ledges where you can set a magazine or book. Additionally, there are three large TVs mounted on the wall and each is usually tuned to a different channel. They have a pool that is open all year long - even in the winter. I've taken a water aerobics class and I've just gone for open swim. I don't use this nearly as much as I should, but I've enjoyed it when I have. The womens' locker room has different size lockers that you can lock (you have to bring your own lock), a few private dressing room, two toilet stalls, three sinks, and three showers. I've used all amenities, including the showers and I'm pleased with them all. I've never used the saunas. I can't really speak to the huge weight room - I've actually never really been inside it. I've never used the raquetball courts, but they seem to always be in use. I don't use the child-care room as I have no kids, but I've seen it and it looks fun. They have a lot of activities for kids including movie nights in the pool and Kids Fitness classes in the afternoon. Parking can be a hassle and oftentimes when it is busy you do have to walk quite a ways (less than a minute or two), but I just think of it as extra exercise! I signed up for a two-year contract and pay $29.99 per month. One added attraction to me is that the RAC is home to a Weight Watchers meeting site that meets at least 10 times per week. As a WW member, I can weigh-in, go to a meeting, and then go to the gym all at one location. read more

The equipment is in good shape, and the place is always clean. The setup of the space is kind of strange, though. It is tough to move quickly between floor work and machines or the weight room because the classrooms are on a different floor from everything else. I've lifted in a lot of weight rooms, and this one was especially clique-y. It was hard to get into the squat rack due to men sitting there on their phones, or doing exercises that don't belong in that particular area. There seemed to be a lack of urgency in the weight room, regardless of when I went, which just didn't work for my schedule. The parking situation is great, but the lot is fairly dangerous to turn left into or out of. That made me not want to go immediately after work. I also often felt like I was bothering the staff when I checked in. Most of the time, they wouldn't acknowledge me other than to see my card and scan it. read more

This is a pretty busy gym and I find it to be very big. There is a big weight room and a second room with treadmills and circuit training machines, a big gym, a classroom and a huge pool. The pool is in a bubble so it is inside in fall, winter and spring, and they take the bubble off for outdoor swimming in the summer. There is also a pretty big playroom for babysitting. The ladies that work there are really nice and it is very clean. I just returned to the gym after taking a year off while having my second child. I started taking classes and I am enjoying them. Zumba is pretty cool and I am loving the wavemaster kickboxing classes.They are really popular and you have to sign up ahead of time for them because they ar in such demand and there are only so many punching bags. I do wish there was more options for yoga here. There is one class on Mondays but it is more of a gentle yoga. I talked to the owner and he said there is just no demand for it. They used to have a class that was cancelled due to poor attendance. The staff are very nice and helpful. You can tell they enjoy working there and from what I understand once people work there they stay for years. They are always very busy cleaning and talking with everyone and the atmosphere is a good one. Parking can be tough sometimes when it gets busy, but luckily they have a gigantic lot so there is always room, you just sometimes end up walking far. I have found this to be an issue with the kids in the bad weather. It seems like employees are able to park close to the door which does bother me. The babysitting hours are a bit weird, with split hours in the morning and then again in the evening. No babysitting Friday or sat evenings and none at all Sundays. This can limit your ability to work out if you have kids. read more

reviewing solely on soin class on thursdays. my job teams with the RAC and has a work only spon class 1x per week. such fun! its in a dark black room, with black lights which makes for a cool vibe. also makes you feel comfy if you are nervous to go or are a first timer. no one pays attention to you, so dont be afraid! they play loud music which gets you in the groove, feel free to sing along! ive had 1 class with Kelly and 1 with corrine, i prefer Corrine, just feel like she goes a bit slower and builds up to the workout, kelly is a bit more intense but still really fun and believe me you will sweat with both. you can go at your own pace, and if you cant keep up dont worry everyone will push you and be interactive providing the push just when you need it! try it out! fun times, and who doesnt love a good sweat?! read more

For a small gym, it's okay. It has those new treadmills/elipticals with the tv mounted to them. For summer student membership it was a little steep at $99 for three months. I never used the pool. Tiny saunas in the locker rooms. There's aerobic classes, wallyball courts, basketball, "dive in" movie nights for kids/families, etc. Plus, their sign that Raynham officials supposedly hate humor me on my ride home from work on the weekends. read more

I was a member of the local YMCA for over 10 years and I finally just was fed up with them so I switched. I honestly didn't really shop around, as I knew WOW was too far away and other local gyms no one heard of, but I work right by the RAC and it always seemed busy. I went in right before New Years and got some more information. Before I even left, I signed up because I loved it. It had everything I needed, a pool, treadmills, and weight room. I've been a member there for a little over 5 months now and I have no complaints. I go in the morning, so I miss the crowds at most gyms, but even at 6am, the front desk is awake and ready to say good morning. I love that's its always clean and a very friendly environment. Just had a terrible expierence at the RAC. My younger brother who is 15 years old (A highschooler) was denied access to be signed in as a guest after paying the guest fee of 13$ a day for the last week. They told him his friend (who has a membership and is over 16 years old) couldnt sign him in because my brother wasnt of age. Where was this rule the entire week he was paying 13$ a day? I walked in and asked if i could sign him in because I am over 18 and this women said if i sign him in i would have to sit there and babysit him. My family was contemplating buying a membership and now they lost our service! Moral to the story pump some iron somewhere else! read more

A great place to work out, the pool is awesome and the staff is like family. I feel like it is my second home. They also are great for kids pool parties, my daughter had one there and she said it was the best b'day party she had. I do not recommend this gym to anyone. On top of the equipment being old and outdated, there are only certain times that you are allowed to use certain areas of the gym. If it was just the studio or Crossfit area, it would not be an issue. However, the limitation also applies to areas of the weight room and the pool, which are two of the selling points for this gym. In addition, the staff is unfriendly, which is the exact opposite of what is sold to you. When a payment did not go through due to a compromise on my credit card, it was not until I called the gym weeks later that they informed me of the missing payment and the service fee attached to it. I brought up with the manager the fact that RAC did not contact me to tell me about the missing payment. No email, no phone call, no letter in the mail. Nothing. She rudely snickered and explained to me that she does not believe me and that, because I am terminating my membership to move out of state, I am not an important enough member for her to assist with waiving the fee. Save yourself the time and money and get a membership elsewhere. read more

Joining the gym? Avoid Raynham Athletic Club. I joined over the summer for their basketball league. I hurt my back and had to quit basketball. I talked to the woman about canceling my membership. She told me I would need a drs note which was fine because my dr advised me to stop playin hoops. I got the note brought it in signed the paperwork to cancel my membership and they even took my membership card. Good to go right? Wrong. Couple months later I noticed in my bank statement that they were still taking out my payment. So I called and she said my drs note wasn't precise enough. So I asked why they wouldn't notify me. No phone call no nothing. She said my membership was until November and it would be canceled then. Bummer but good to go? Nope come November my membership wasn't canceled so I went down and signed the same paperwork again but it was November 12th and I would be billed another month because it was after the 10th so come January 1st another $42.99 taken out of my account. I called. No record of me canceling in November. Had to go down and cancel again for the 3rd time. This time I took a picture of my cancellation paper work on her desk. I was a member here a few times but with my work schedule it was very difficult to attend so I ended up canceling my membership. It's a nice gym but the hours are just not that great. I ended up finding a 24 hour gym in the area WOW (Work Out World) that's more affordable it just doesn't have the pool. read more

This is a horrible gym that I would not recommend for anyone. Beth, one of the employees, is one of the rudest people I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with and she is total bit**. Unfortunately I have been a member here for over a year paying $80 a month for my wife and I. The parking situation there is horrible and expect to walk a good distance if you plan on coming after work or anytime that there's a weight watchers or dance convention, etc. And don't even bother going during the summer because they are too cheap to keep the ac at a reasonable level so after one set or so you'll be soaked with sweat and that's if you can deal with the over-crowded lay-out, I was out of commission for about a month after whacking my knee on one of the poorly placed machines. **SAVE YOUR MONEY & A HEADAHCE & GO ANYPLACE ELSE!!!! read more

I've been a member there for about 3 years. The classes are awesome!!!. I don't use the basketball or racquetball but looks fine and seems to be busy with players. I don't feel uncomfortable there as the people working out are all ages. As far as the temperatures go I haven't had a problem and I do use the weight room. There was a time a month or so ago they had issues with the AC but was fixed in 2 days. Parking is the same as anywhere else. If your lucky you get right up front if not you have to walk a few yards no big deal. After all you are going to work out so walking a short distance from the back doesn't bother me at all. I walk further going to Wal Mart LOL Over all I like the gym and really enjoy the classes. read more

This is my second year at the Raynham Athletic Club. In my first year I particularly enjoyed the Aquarobics classes and when I returned this year , it was to attend those classes. I have now been to four Aquarobics classes this year and could not be more unhappy. The workout routines are great but the classes are not. The class is made up of a large clique of women who think they own the pool and who are most unwelcoming to new comers. New comers seem to last 2 or 3 classes at most before they feel unwelcome enough not to return. This clique of women chatter incessantly to each other during the workouts and will even chatter over you or through you as if you are invisible. The best place to do the wall routines are against the wall in the middle of the pool. If you take one of these choice spots, one of them will hover over you untill you decide to move. I am not unreasonable, I will move immediately if one of them agrees to bend down and kiss my rosy red ass. I am now stuck with a membership that I have already paid for at a club that I no longer wish to attend. The water may be warm but the atmosphere definitely is not. read more

My daughter who is 8 years old and I decided to go to this gym to sign up for a pool membership on Friday, July 15, 2016 because we had the same pool membership last summer along with Blue Fish Swim Lessons as well. I had won a "Free" one month membership to this gym and pool from the East Taunton Elementary School Fundraising Auction that took place in March of 2016. I wanted to apply the one month free membership along with purchasing a pool membership for the rest of this summer and had spoken with Cindy, who told me that she was the General Manager of the gym. She first said that the pool wouldn't be part of the one month free membership and I had told her that it is listed on the piece of paper that was given to me from the principal of my daughter's school. Cindy then stated that she had never seen what I had given her and basically told me that she would have to ask someone about it because it looks fraud. My daughter and I waited in the office for a little bit and then the "owner" of the gym named Dan came in abruptly with the piece of paper in his hand and asked where I got it from and then he introduced himself. He said that his gym would NEVER give out a piece of paper like that for a donation. I told him how I won it and he asked if I mind that he call the principal of my daughter's school and ask her about it and I said that is fine. I then gave Dan all of the principal's information. While waving the piece of paper in his hand he then proceeded to tell me that the gym was his "livelihood" and he needs to make sure that the principal of my daughter's school isn't printing them out and passing them around. I then took a deep breath and couldn't believe what I had just heard. I then said to him, "First of all your so called General Manager accused me of being fraudulent and also has the Customer Service skills that are awful. I don't appreciate being treated like that nor would she. Second of all my daughter's principal is the Wife of the Mayor of Taunton and I don't think that she would be sitting in her office printing off one month memberships to your gym and passing them out." At that time I gave up on the nonsense that was thrown at me and I gave the owner, Dan, my name and number and told him to do what he has to do to look into it and call me. He then offered to give a "free" pass to me and my daughter to swim that day because we were already dressed and ready to spend the day at the pool. I told him to keep it and that I wasn't in the shape mentally to stay there at his business due to the lack of Customer Service that him and his General Manager gave me and we left. To this day, Monday, August 8, 2016 I have not yet heard from him or his General Manager about my one month "Free" membership to his gym. Many people forget who people know.... And if you happen to be someone who owns a business you know first hand of how small this world is and what Customer Service skills you need to keep your business going. I hope that this business goes under because I don't want anyone else out there to go through what I gone through on that Friday. My husband is a well respected business owner and he would never treat anyone like this! This guy doesn't deserve to have a business. I am not rating this business at all because it was such an AWFUL experience!!!! read more

I recently moved to the Raynham from Boston with my fiancé. We belonged to a gym on Boston and it was ok nothing too spectacular. We heard from a friend that RAC was the gym to join around here. So we went over to check it out on the beginning of January. I was very surprised by the size, the amenities, and the crowds. All in a good way of course! It is a very large facility with a lot to offer for everyone. They have a basketball court, racquetball court, spin room, large locker rooms, weight watchers room, a very large cardio room, a great weight room, a very cool looking pool area and more. It is very clean and you always see the staff walking around saying hello and asking if you need anything. Their hours are great and if there are any changes to the schedule they email you right away which is great! I am proud to say I am a member here and will highly recommend this to all.
