While driving down W Cermak Rd towards Western Ave I spotted Raymond's Tacos off to my right hand side. I am one that loves to bookmark any restaurant I come across when I get the chance, so I pulled in the nearest parking lot to bookmark it as well as take a look at their menu. Craving taco asada at the time, I have to say that it was a picture of the al pastor taco shared by Yelper - Diana J that really built that interest to visit the day of my discovery. If not for the plain, yet eye-catching orange banner with Raymond's Tacos listed on it, I would have driven right passed this restaurant. Options for parking are street parking w/ meter or within the neighborhood. With neighborhood parking I recommend being cautious of where you park because some portions of the street require a permit to park. Parking outside of the restaurant there is metered parking available for like one vehicle depending on its size. The rest of the space is part of the bus stop (Cermak & Washtenaw), a tow zone for vehicles other than a bus. I almost went for a spot within the neighborhood because parking along W Cermak Rd within a short radius of the restaurant is frustrating. But I remembered a time I got a ticket for parking on a street requiring a permit which gave me the courage to go for a spot along W Cermak Rd. Though Pan American Bank, the bank next door has a spacious yet empty parking lot, I would not recommend parking in it because there just may be someone waiting to make that call for your vehicle to be towed. For covid 19 precautions, wearing a mask is required to enter. Dine-in is prohibited, but there is the option for ordering takeout like the majority of the restaurants throughout the city. With dine-in being prohibited, there were no seats or tables in their dining area. And furthermore, there is a plastic shield that prevents employee to customer contact. As for my order I ordered a taco asada and a al pastor taco w/ a squirt which I already had in mind before I stepped foot in the door. My order was completed within a reasonable timeframe. Thank goodness because I kept checking on my vehicle because I parked alongside the bank on W Cermak Rd. Nowhere near a meter, I kept thinking that I would get a ticket or maybe a boot on my tire because I did not purchase a parking ticket for my brief visit. Those damn tacos smelled so good! I just wanted to pull over or in a parking lot and just devour them both, but for the goodness of Yelp, I just had to get a quality picture of my order to share. Comparing the two tacos, I have to say that I loved the taco asada which had a more flavorsome taste to it in comparison to the al pastor taco, but both did not disappoint. All in all, a pleasant ordering experience with Raymond's Tacos. I most definitely would not hesitate on visiting again while in the Little Village area. There's nothing healthy about these tacos and I'm completely okay with that. This place is more intimate. I always take my order to go. It puts me in the mind of a staple neighborhood diner. Tacos are made to order but the meat is precooked. The soft shells are double layered with a slice of American cheese in between. Ask for queso blanco if that's your preference. It's available but it isn't on the menu. The burritos, tortas, and tacos are really good. They're all I've tried here and I don't have any complaints. Sour cream is extra. This is actually Raymond's Tacos and Hamburgers #1; #2 is the one on Blue Island. I was here with a friend today and we both got some tacos and double cheeseburgers. The taco shells were a tad on the greasy side, but the char grilled steak was perfection! The cheeseburgers were excellent as well. This place tends to be a little too small for comfort - there's a counter and four booths. We were lucky that we managed to get a booth just as a customer was about to leave. Service was good given the crowd size and the number of employees working. The one critique I have is regarding their beverage sizes - there seems to only be one size if you get the lemonade, fruit punch, or horchata, which seems to be somewhere between a small and a medium. You will get thirsty, so plan on ordering more beverages as your meal progresses. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely check this place out - but plan on getting your food to go on the weekends. EDIT 2/22: I stopped by here and it was a busy Friday night for them... I had to wait more than fifteen minutes for my order (there were several large orders including one guy who ordered 20 tacos for 'taco night'); still, they were efficient and moved as quickly as they could. Never gotten atop a hamburger out of here I didn't even realize the net the name and titled I always assumed it was Taco related This is a must-have if you're coming through the west side for any particular reason or purpose I love this little place doesn't have too much curb appeal and you might miss it if he does if you don't know it already exists but once you go inside the tacos are unbelievable I even going with one chicken and one chop steak or steak taco I get all the fixes on it plus I had sour cream and they also have the green and the red additional sauces everything is pretty much wrapped and placed in the thinnest paper bag so you can get that grease filled the french fries are pretty good as well but mostly I just go for the tacos themselves they're just small soft cheesy goodness plenty of cilantro and has very a very have to take taste and each time I go I'm pretty much happy it can be pretty crowded so if you have the time to call your order in please do read more

Total hole in the wall Been coming here for years since some family used to live in this hood. The food is good, the service is nice and the prices are unbeatable. Two things in the menu for me: burritos de asada y tacos de asada with american cheese. And if yes that is unusual and not as authentic as many would argue, it works for me. Chopped up steak and onions on two tortillas with a slice of melted american cheese in between, topped with lettuce and tomato. Weird? yes. Good? you bet. Service always nice and chill. I would say this place is decent if you are in a rush, need some quick food, or maybe after a night of drinking. The tacos were ok. The meat for the al pastor would be better if it wasn't served in big chunks. Maybe take a bit more time to cut up the meat before serving. The steak tacos were ok as well. Nothing to write home about. I also found it interesting that the is the first and only place that I have ever known to use American yellow cheese in there tacos. I was in Chicago for only a couple days but this was near by Airbnb. Raymond's has a slightly diner-like feel, and is small and cozy. I am thoroughly impressed by how cheap the food is here, and for such a good meal! The hamburgers were fresh and juicy, and the service was quick. The servers here are extremely friendly too, and even recommended that we only get one order of fries instead of two, because it's a large portion. Hamburgers are $2.50 each and fries are $1.50...this is truly a great deal. I would recommend this place to anyone who is in the neighborhood! Great inexpensive Mexican food joint. I'm a taco gal so I ordered the al pastor and carne asada tacos, which were the perfect amount of food to fuel me for an afternoon of sightseeing in downtown. Mind, Raymond's Tacos (I don't know if it is alternatively known as Raymond's Hamburgers hence the Yelp name?) is by no means healthy--they saturate their taco tortillas with oil, making for no-nonsense, greasy grub that hits the spot. I've gone here 3 times a week. I run a home sharing business and have recommended this place to the thousands of guests I've hosted. I used to love this place and usually it's great, but today I felt so disrespected from a new cook. The cook that usually works there is great. However, today, I ordered a quesadilla with corn tortilla and the cook refused. At first he said he didn't have corn tortilla and then said that he had it but just refused to make it with corn tortilla. After I explained that I was just in here two days ago when a cook offered to make it and he made it, the cook expressed doubt that it was in fact this location that I went to. He shouted at me. Other guests that observed were swearing at me, though I didn't swear or raise my voice. After I took a picture of the employee he took out his phone and took a picture of me. Do the owners like employing disrespectful people who mistreat their customers more than all of the money I spent and have recommended thousands of guests to do the same? All because he didn't want to cook a quesadilla with corn tortillas instead of flour... I am throwing their togo menus away, which i have for guests. I love their greasy, non healthy food. Every now and then it's not a bad thing to satisfy the cravings. The yellow American cheese in between the tortillas and the carne asada in middle with avocado and cheese. Their salsa and a large horchata. Yummmmm! The cooks make everyone feel as if you just walked into their kitchen and you feel welcome always. I've been going to this place for years and their tacos al pastor are hella good so I give them a minus 3 because the two new girls they hired to pick up the phone and take orders and do some side work don't know wtf they're doing. Multiple times they fuck up my order. Tonight is no different. She never put in my phone order so 20 min later I'm waiting. then they run out of pastor which is what I wanted. If she had put my order in like she was supposed to I would have had my tacos. She never apologized and pretended like she didn't remember taking the order and blamed me for possibly calling the wrong place. I've been calling forever and now all of a sudden the number saved in my phone is different? Nah. While the morning rapidly grew colder and colder, as if Zeus suddenly summoned a mighty wind down California Avenue, only the quest to find a restaurant -any restaurant - open early for breakfast gave me any incentive to soldier on. Was there a hashhouse hidden along this gray/black stretch near the Cook County Courthouse? Perhaps a greasy spoon could give me something I didn't have to look at, but could easily swallow to stay fortified. Maybe...just maybe, there was a friendly tacqueria that would welcome this Spanish-language-challenged stranger in his time of need. OK, this may sound like a bit much but when you fall down the rabbithole and begin a day on jury duty with no lunch in hand and undetermined hours in court ahead, you want food fast and fulfilling. After a fruitless walkdown down California, I head east on Cermak. Two guys walk out of Raymond's. It couldn't hurt for me to walk in. Great call. As I enter, I can hear the sizzle of chicken and steak strips coming from the grill behind the counter along with the words "Kobe Bryant." It is the only English I hear for a minute. Smiling guys at the counter are getting that delicious sounding meat put into taco as I wait to order. The TV is on ESPN Deportes, but sports is a universal language, right. I order. No problem, of course. Everybody's bilingual but us native born gringos. I don't know if this is Raymond behind the counter making my pollo and al pastor tacos, but it wouldn't surprise me. He knows his requlars, possibly family, and in a second my food is ready to go. Nice. I rationed those tacos over two days just in case. Raymond's came through at a time of need.
