I have spent months struggling with health insurance, red tape, and clerical errors that weren't…read moremine but left me without insurance. I was at my wit's end recently after being told that I had missed open enrollment (despite having applied before the deadline), and that I couldn't get an exception made. I have medications that I had to stop cold turkey months ago and have been without, and have been dealing with health issues I couldn't really afford to get care for because I was told I had to wait until November for open enrollment to start again. I posted on Facebook asking friends for advice, assuming it was pointless. But then one of them said I should look into a broker - an option I had no idea was available, nor that it was free. I looked through a list of brokers and found Gary Franke and his team; they sounded good, so I requested help from them. And thank god I did, because I tell you what - after months of metaphorically pulling my hair out over how stressful the runaround of insurance was, especially when I don't have much knowledge on the subject - Gary Franke and Heffernan Insurance Brokers had me squared away in a few emails and a single phone call. I couldn't believe how simple the process was. Gary got my information - how much I make a year, what exactly I'm looking for / need help with - and narrowed the insurance plans down to two that he said would be the most affordable and the most helpful for me based on my needs. Then all I had to do was choose from the two, let him know, and he got me enrolled and activated. No fuss, no stress. He was friendly, empathetic, understanding, and answered all of my questions thoroughly and without judgement - even the ones I personally thought were probably dumb questions. He was even willing to discuss my options with a family member that has been trying to help me with the process of getting on insurance, if she had any other questions she wanted to ask him. Even after I was on an active plan, Gary and his team have encouraged me to come to them if I have any further questions, and made sure I know they're available for any other advice I may need in the future. In conclusion, I literally cannot recommend Gary Franke and his team enough. They got done in less than a week - and only took as long as that because I had to make my choice on the plans and slept on it - what I was on the verge of a breakdown trying to do on my own for months. If any of the many people I had spoken to on the myriad of phone calls with WA Healthplan Finder, or any of the insurance companies, had just once suggested a broker, I could have escaped so much stress. If you're on the fence about a broker - do it. It's so worth it, and you can't go wrong with Heffernan Insurance Brokers, and Gary Franke and his team. They are extremely knowledgeable about all this stuff, and genuinely want to help you with what you need and where you're at. There's a reason they have so many 5-star reviews here; and I promise that those reviews are telling the truth, because I know mine is. Reach out to them. I promise you won't regret it.

Buyer beware, Gary is unethical. Back in 2017, I moved to Bellevue Wa. and was in need of health…read moreinsurance. New to the game I was unaware broker's fees are paid by the health insurance companies. Tamara, who works with Gary, was the agent of record and did a good. However, months after I get a call from Gary stating, "Tamara forgot to bill you." Not knowing, I gave him my credit card info and was billed $75... Pretty slimy for a whopping $75. I would have sued if still live nearby.

I am purely sharing my experience with this agency so you can make an informed decision about where you take your business. For context we are two mid 40's drivers, no tickets, no accidents. We were carrying multiple policies (2 vehicles and home owners). We do not price shop insurances, bouncing around. We have carried these policies for multiple years with this agency. We chose a west Seattle agency because we reside in west Seattle. We have high credit scores. These are all important factors. We were just given a call that myself and the vehicle I drive would be dropped from our coverage. So here is the story of why I was dropped: I had to make a claim with State farm because while I was getting gas, a woman exited the convenience store jumped into her car and reversed into me. I was outside my car because I was pumping gas. She asked to make repairs off insurance. This made me very uncomfortable. We exchanged info and I made a claim to get my car fixed. Very cut and dry. At a gas station, not in my car, all on video. I had the misfortune approximately a month later of being rear ended. I was in stop and go traffic exiting off of I90 onto Highway 18. Anyone familiar with that drive knows you roll for miles before you can turn onto 18. So thats what I was doing, rolling for miles. For some reason, the driver behind me decided he wasn't going to stop and crashed right into me. I had my brake fully applied and had appropriate space between myself and the driver in front of me. So I did not bounce into them. We exchanged info, the driver apologized and I went home. I contacted his insurance directly but could not get a hold of anyone so I reached out to state farm. I was told it was best to go directly through his insurance so that I would not have to pay my deductible. However I asked them to proceed since no one would return my call at his insurance company. I paid two separate deductibles and was told that after they sorted the claims if I was not at fault I would get my deductibles reimbursed. I went to the shop they preferred. I did not claim my rental car reimbursement and I made no medical claims on either accident. The vehicle was repaired and I was eventually reimbursed both deductibles. I was then dropped by my insurance. They were very "polite" and blamed it on underwriting. So I looked into underwriting. This is an example for context not my particular situation. Just "3" claims is a lot of activity on a policy. I understand that something may "technically" not your fault, but when you see households racking up 3, 4 or 5 "non"fault" accidents something about their driving style is contributing this. I can drive down the street hitting my brakes randomly and someone will eventually run into me and it would not be "my fault," but my driving style did contribute to the accident. Insurance company know what the norm is and when you venture outside of that it is not financially smart to keep you as a policy holder. Be happy they covered those accidents and move on to a new company. Try to look at your own driving habits and style and see how that can be altered. People are hit by others and it really is "not-at-fault," but it reaches a point when enough is enough and they will set you free. That is a very fair assessment. Absolutely bad luck happens but absolutely you might also be a part of the problem. Apparently according to this agency I should have predicted while I was pumping gas someone would reverse into me. Perhaps I should have jumped in front of my car. And apparently even though I had been rolling for miles stopping and going. I should have predicted the gentleman behind me was not going to stop. Perhaps swerved into the construction barrier? And lets not forget that I didn't cause an accident in front of me. But I guess underwriting does not factor in that "preventive" driving. Do not waste time or money building "customer loyalty" here. It does not exist. More importantly, anyone who does do business with these guys and if you have had two no fault claims and were not dropped I would love to talk with you. Please contact me China Colton 4253437665

Farmers New World Life Insurance Company…read more I cannot imagine a worse customer response company than Farmers for Long Term Care Insurance, I am attempting to help with simile claims submitted per their process. Getting to know when they reimburse the insured for submitted claims, where are the checks they claim they sent, how to stop payment on all those checks that were never delivered and reissue replacement checks etc., for two elderly gentlemen in their mid 80's with Alzheimer's is like talking to a stump. I make calls and get transferer to what I assume are answering service persons out of the country who cannot help me and place me on hod for excessive periods of time only to tell me all the mangers are too busy to take my call and to give them a date in the future when they will call me. Insurance companies control a large amount of the world's finances, and it is evident they plan to control those funds by delaying payment as long as they can by not putting an individual on the phone who is incapable of answering a few simple questions. Ther are a lot of Long-Term Care Insurance Companies out there; don't spend over 20 years paying into a fund such as Farmers when their systems cannot answer simple questions.
