When my 46-year old husband died, all I wanted was a cremation; not a funeral, not a casket, not a fancy urn, not memorial candles or cards, not any of the upselling garbage Ned was trying to hawk. He asked questions in a way that made me extremely uncomfortable and upset, as well as upsetting my friend the Reverend, my mother, my sister, and my sister-in-law. Ned reeled at how he'd have to "get extra guys to help" handle my husband's 300lb body and went into morbid detail about what kind of cardboard container they'd have to reinforce to hold my husband. He went on and on about how I was "lucky this isn't Texas because you'd have to embalm the body before cremation." I did NOT need any of this. I asked very specific questions and was treated like a child, with no specific answers given. As a brand-new widow, being treated like a child and charged nearly five thousand dollars to be treated like a child is mind-blowing, disgraceful, and an abomination. I get it, Ned, you're tired and are used to pushing people around who are grief-ridden. What you did was disgusting.

It was the second month of the pandemic- April of 2020. I had previously made several calls to different funeral homes asking for my father to be picked up from the hospital and buried. No one was offering this service. It was all about cremation at this time, due to the pandemic. I found John Crawford who was a lifesaver during such a terrible time. He was able to bury my father who had died from covid, which was my fathers ultimate dying wish. John came through for me when no one else did, and he didn't ask me for a dime upfront. He told me not to worry about it, and he trusted me and in this day and age its so difficult for anyone to have trust. I was unable to attend the funeral, but he promised me he would say a prayer for my father and sent me pics of the casket as it was being lowered into the gravesite. I'll never forget John. Been here on several other occasions unfortunately, one being last year when my cousin suddenly passed away. We are a big family, and a lot of us came to show our support, and it was rather comfortable in the place. Went here recently on Saturday May 13th for a smaller ocassion because my great aunt (my grandfather's sister), passed away. While we were a smaller crowd, it was short and simple. There was even a slideshow playing in the back, that was created by the funeral parlor. After the short wake, we waited in the waiting room area, where there was coffee, and bottled water. Suggestion is there should be a sign perhaps showing the water, because i didn't like the lemony water that was in the wake room. but overall beautiful place. Also though, the priest ranted on and on about god and had a very monotone voice throughout his speech. not a very good way to keep one's attention, and besides, not everyone is religous or grieves religiously.
