Can't say much about the business side of things here, but this funeral home is gorgeous, and…read morepretty accommadating. Been here on several other occasions unfortunately, one being last year when my cousin suddenly passed away. We are a big family, and a lot of us came to show our support, and it was rather comfortable in the place. Went here recently on Saturday May 13th for a smaller ocassion because my great aunt (my grandfather's sister), passed away. While we were a smaller crowd, it was short and simple. There was even a slideshow playing in the back, that was created by the funeral parlor. After the short wake, we waited in the waiting room area, where there was coffee, and bottled water. Suggestion is there should be a sign perhaps showing the water, because i didn't like the lemony water that was in the wake room. but overall beautiful place. Also though, the priest ranted on and on about god and had a very monotone voice throughout his speech. not a very good way to keep one's attention, and besides, not everyone is religous or grieves religiously.

They said his cremation was covered in order for me to sign the papers. It wasn't. I found out later that you have to go to the VA for that and it's just a small amont. I feel so swindled by them. I managed to pay them from my father's medicaid account ( he died with nothing) and they were paid!!! They didn't even send me a copy of my dad's death certificate and gave me the runaround just to be spiteful or they are just unprofessional. They ignored my emails and just decided to be cold and heartless about all of it since they didn't get the full amount they hoped for. Every phone call I made, everyone said the same thing, "the funeral home is supposed to give you a copy". I hope no one ever has to use this place. I was referred by my father's nursing home and I will let them know that it is not a good place to do business. Especially not for the grieving. Shame on them. I'm letting my Legion Post know about this. They only want your money. Find another funeral home. This is one is rude, cold and unprofessional.

John was so understanding ,compassionate and friendly and he prepared me for what lay ahead. Once mom died he swiftly put everything into place with grace, clarity and impeccable care. I didn't feel alone - and he made it easy to choose the best option ( financially and otherwise) for her funeral/burial in record speed....which was of utmost importance in our religion. He made this experience so effortless for us so I could concentrate on what mattered most. I will be forever grateful for all he did for our family.

It was the second month of the pandemic- April of 2020. I had previously made several calls to different funeral homes asking for my father to be picked up from the hospital and buried. No one was offering this service. It was all about cremation at this time, due to the pandemic. I found John Crawford who was a lifesaver during such a terrible time. He was able to bury my father who had died from covid, which was my fathers ultimate dying wish. John came through for me when no one else did, and he didn't ask me for a dime upfront. He told me not to worry about it, and he trusted me and in this day and age its so difficult for anyone to have trust. I was unable to attend the funeral, but he promised me he would say a prayer for my father and sent me pics of the casket as it was being lowered into the gravesite. I'll never forget John. God puts angels in our lives! Thanks John!!! The Rosado Family.

We met with Nick, discussed what was desired in our family member's funeral, and he guided us to explore the different options. While difficult, Nick made it as easy as anyone could possibly make it, and did not attempt to influence our decisions one way or another. He simply presented the options and allowed us to decide. Once done, he prepared a detailed quote. While their full service funeral service is not inexpensive and there may be less expensive options, we found that Nick and team managed every element of the process and ceremonies very well and were professional from start to finish. We have no regrets and recommend Nick and team at Hodder Farenga Funeral Home.

We were mourning the death of my mother in law, it's stressful and who has the mind to think? Everything here is over priced. And things on the bill are repeated just worded differently, so ur basically paying for the same services a few times. But not only that, you pay over $3k for things such as supervision and for someone to direct the guests, that wasn't done, everyone was walking in the wrong direction causing traffic in the room. They also asked us which flower arrangements we wanted to keep after all is said and done, we told them which arrangements and we put it on a side table and they promised to set it aside to pick up after the funeral. Well that wasn't the case, the next day when we called to let them know we were picking them up, we learned that they sold our flower arrangements back to the other florists they work with. He then told us he would replace them but he never did. They return your phone calls before they get your money, but once you pay, your on your own. There was only one person that was a good guy and that was Carl. Everyone else there is disgusting. They are patronizing and condescending and don't give a crap about people that are mourning Bc it's something they do everyday, they are like robots. Oh and on top of it he said he would take off $200 off the bill, because the hair and makeup charges were over $500 which is ridiculous... when it was time to pay he didn't take it off the bill, instead Nick played stupid as if he was going to do it at the end...we had him recalculate everything Bc the total was way above what we agreed on. We made him break it all down. then he adjusted to the correct number. Then he just took $125 off the over calculated bill. We were so tired and stressed that it wasn't even worth arguing at that point. Beware of this place. Make sure you do your research on prices before you shop around. We chose that place Bc of the location, wasn't even worth it. Nick Farenga your a disgusting pig.
