It was the second month of the pandemic- April of 2020. I had previously made several calls to different funeral homes asking for my father to be picked up from the hospital and buried. No one was offering this service. It was all about cremation at this time, due to the pandemic. I found John Crawford who was a lifesaver during such a terrible time. He was able to bury my father who had died from covid, which was my fathers ultimate dying wish. John came through for me when no one else did, and he didn't ask me for a dime upfront. He told me not to worry about it, and he trusted me and in this day and age its so difficult for anyone to have trust. My family worked with them to make sure that we were able to honor our child the way we wanted. The staff at Farenga was very helpful and above all, understanding and kind. These qualities were so important in this difficult time, where all we could do was grieve. We were so distraught and in a lot of pain that I was dreading our baby's funeral. It was something I never imagined I would have to do. However, the funeral service was a beautiful moment of peace.
