They don't do appointments so you have to take your bike down, to their place just off Hove seafront, discuss the problems, leave the bike and wait to be contacted to pick it up again. When I collected my bike, they fitted a new free-wheel mechanism and a new chain at a very reasonable price. I rode my bike home to Woodingdean, in light rain and the bike is as good as the time when I bought it new and first road it. They also offer a wide range of various bike paraphernalia (lights, locks etc), plus if they don't have what you require in stock, they are happy to order it in for you. Moreover, I recently had to return a relatively new halogen front light which had stopped working. It was immediately replaced for a brand new one with no quibbles whatsoever. I cannot fault the excellent service I receive from Gordon at Q-Whizz and I thoroughly recommend them for all your biking needs.

They still offer a lot of 2nd hand bikes and bargains as well as a huge range of brand new ones. The staff are really helpful and always happy to have a chat about any good trails nearby. Blatchington Road can be a pretty depressing place at times, so it's nice to see some shiny new mechanical marvels to brighten up your day. With top brands such as a Schwinn, you might find yourself forking out some serious cash, but then again, these are some serious bikes. If I was looking for a decent road, or mountain bike, I'd definitely check out Hove Cycles. With a small place like this, you also tend to get the benefit of knowledgeable staff, which is why they are still in business competing with the likes of Halfords, Bike Hut and the other biking big boys. It's nice to see they're keeping afloat and that passionate people still succeed.

To be honest though, this shop isn't about looks, it's quite simply a good, hard working, honest shop which deals in Bikes and getting those babies on the road. KTM and Yamaha road and Moto X bikes are displayed outside, and the Yamaha Virago especially took my fancy, looking a little bit like a chopper, I suddenly had the urge to throw off the constraints of society and go easy riding. But I didn't, as sleeping under the Californian stars in mid summer cannot be matched by the lovely, but actually quite cold, Sussex Downs in mid winter.

The shop looks small from the outside but as it is set over 2 floors it increases the floor space dramatically. The beauty of this shop is that it offers equipment for sports that you can otherwise struggle to find and they can give you a good insight into what equipment will suit you best. The 2 guys that own it I am almost certain are father and son and everytime I go in there they are both there involved in something. The first time I found out about this shop was when my friend took me to get his shirt printed with his name and number which they do brilliantly and can do all the proper lettering for most sports which really helps to make your shirt feel real. If you need something please go here first as this local shop really deserves, and has earned, our loyalty.
