A brick chimney with a damaged metal cap at the top, with a piece of cloth hanging from the edge. The chimney is set against a cloudy sky, and the photo is taken from a low angle, emphasizing the height of the chimney.

What a disappointment! In July 2019 I contracted with the company to repair a deteriorated cement chimney crown and do additional minor roof work. There was a delay in scheduling the work. I was notified there was a mix-up in scheduling due to similarity of names of another individual which seemed odd but so be it. Finally, after a few calls, I received a response indicating the work would begin the next day, One individual did arrive the following day, who was onsite about 1 1/2 hours and left. He came back the following 2-3 days with the same work pattern. Little time spent and he left. On what he advised was the final workday for job completion he brought his wife/girlfriend with him who was actually on the roof to help him. I was dismayed but believing it was cleared with management at Ray St. Clair did not object. As they were preparing to leave my premises, I checked the work and found that they had not painted the roof valleys which was pointed out to them. For brevity purposes, I won't elaborate in expansive details but potential customers should be aware of the poor quality of workmanship on the cement crown. I contacted St Clair's quality service team shortly after job completion and an individual came out to inspect. He indicated the work was acceptable. Enough said in that regard. Now, the cement is rough and choppy looking from the deck below and the so-called crown coat water-proofing material that was applied has now bubbled and partially flaked off. In fact, a huge chunk last week was hanging down the side of our chimney. We had to climb a ladder to remove it from blowing in the wind as well as additional pieces that were loose. Needless to say, poor workmanship! So, be aware of who will be doing your work from Ray St. Clair and watch the quality!

A large, two-story house with a front porch and attached garage is situated in a spacious yard with green grass and mature trees. The gravel driveway curves toward the garage, and the sky is clear with some clouds. The yard includes a flower pot and benches, and a small shed is visible in the background.

Keep an eye on the workers they seem to be independent contractors. The I house staff seems to be competent.

What was supposed to be a 3-4 day project according to the contract ended up taking about a month, mainly due to poor communication, delays, and lack of project management. Our gutters and downspouts were removed and left sitting in our yard for three weeks, and our home went over a month without gutters, which led to water intrusion during storms--something we had never experienced before. The initial soffit and fascia work was also done poorly and required multiple follow-ups before it was finally corrected. Throughout the entire process, communication was extremely poor. We repeatedly had to contact the company ourselves just to get updates or have issues addressed. Promised callbacks from management never happened, and at one point we were even told our bill might be sent to collections while we were still waiting for the company to return our calls regarding unresolved concerns. There were also basic professionalism issues, including trash left in our yard by the crew, including fast-food bags that my dogs got into. The only reason this review is not even worse is because Robert, the replacement project manager, eventually corrected the installation issues, and Phil later took the time to listen to our concerns and offer a partial discount. Unfortunately, that only happened after weeks of frustration and repeated attempts to get someone to respond. Overall, the experience showed serious issues with communication, scheduling, and project oversight. Based on our experience, we would not recommend this company

We contracted Klaus Roofing for some roof, flashing, and gutter problems we had on our home. The…read morepricing was considered good for what we were getting, or at least was considered a good price at time of contract signing. The crew that showed up at our property was David (Site Supervisor) and Ricky the head of the "crew". During the initial inspection we were told that a supervisor/Project Mgr. would be onsite all of the time the crew was there, and we later found out this is NOT the case. The crew to me seemed very disorganized and did things haphazardly with little to no safety in mind. We were told at the inspection that they would be picking up after each day and running a magnet for screws, nails, and sharp items. We NEVER saw that happen and there was very little effort in picking up after themselves each day! We presented a sandwich bag full of sharp items such as screws and nails to David, David told my wife he was going to issue her a gift card, but that never happened! The job was supposed to be a 2-3-day job and became somewhat of a nightmare that lasted 11 weeks. Initially they were finished on 8/13/2024, which there were many problems that not only myself recognized being in the project management business, but my wife also picked up on. There was a list of notable issues to be fixed that should have been caught during install. Most of the issues were bent or wavy metal on the facia boards and the way they terminated the metal at the ends was below standard and what I called "sloppy". Other issues included terminating soffit vinyl into an existing painted, crown molding that not only looked bad, but also presented as a future maintenance issue. Also, soffit vinyl was loose in many areas and still is. The crew came back to fix the issues and in doing so created other issues and damage to newer house siding vinyl installed. During installing the facia covering they found areas that the facia board needed to be replaced. I gave them the green light to replace the damaged facia boards, and this was a huge mistake on my end as the facia board that was replaced was found to be installed incorrectly later due to the metal NOT fitting on the facia board. They corrected most of the issues and the damage they did to our siding, but as they corrected, they made more problems with bent and dented metal on the facia boards and some of the soffits were pitched in a weird angle and didn't look right, which is why they were back on 10/22, but as they tried to fix the "weird angle" on the soffit they cut the rake board to shreds with an oscillating cutting tool (see attached pic of damage to the rake board). Also, on 10/22 we showed David a few of the areas that needed caulk, missing metal, and an area in the rear that the metal was bent (hammer blows) and the drip edge was bent up, which he admitted to placing nails in the drip edge to "hold it down". When David showed Ricky the dented facia metal, he became angry and said "f**k this" and walked away, I showed the issues to David and he told Ricky to go ahead and replace the metal, but Ricky was very apprehensive about replacing that facia metal because they had placed nails into the drip edge and bent it up and there was no way of making that right without replacing the drip edge and the facia metal! So, the final "nail in the coffin", no pun intended was from them to give us $200 off - WOW after all the time I had to take off from work at over $400 per day and the issues to deal with! We took the $200 off due to the fact we didn't want any more damage to our home and to end this escapade! I would not do business with Klaus again and the reason I gave 2 stars as some things were done correclty - gutters were installed correclty and all the roof and flashing work was done well, but due to the problems encountered with the facia metal and soffit I would not use them again!

I just had my roof replaced a few days ago and everything seemed above board until the old shingles…read morewere removed!!! I had a bid around $10K for the roof replacement with a side note that an additional charge of $65 per board would be required if there was any damaged wood. I was told I need a whole new roof deck because there were 1/2" gaps between the existing roof deck, no mention of any damaged wood. It's now my understanding the 1/2" gaps are not uncommon. The additional charge was $3,750, which is a 38% upcharge to my bid. I don't understand how this is legal or ethical. Certainly, that kind of issue could have been identified prior to the day of installation with a simple attic inspection. Although the workmanship was great, this has left a sour impression for me. Unless you are roofing savvy, which I am not, these are the gotchas that can create a volatile situation. This type of last-minute upcharge is what give the contractor industry a bad name. Shame on you, Kraus Roofing!!!

Where do I start. My house was severely damaged due to a Contractor leaving my ridge line open…read moreduring a storm. DGK swooped in like they were saints and I used the to fix all the damage. They stated that they could have us back in my house by 18 December 2025 and if I pay 23,000 more work won't stop due to insurance. That did not happen. This issue started in July 2025 and DGK still had not finished my house when I fired them early February 2026. 7 months of them dragging my along. They would do very little work then ghost us for weeks. Ignoring text messages and phone calls. They kept saying they need more money. When asked to see invoices, purchase orders etc James Wocher told me that's not how it works. Really? I, the customer can't see where MY money is going. My final issue that set me over board was they neglected to put insulation in my roof during this record setting cold winter causing me to have Propane filled up 5 times now since December 8 2025. James stated it's not their fault and I must have a leak. I paid another contractor two months ago to check for leaks and weather my crawl space but James still won't take responsibility. Then more water damage was seen and DGK refused to send someone out to stop the leak instead stating I don't need their insurance information or license and bonding information. All required to be given to a client. After having MY insurance access the damage it was found that DGK did not install a proper ice and water barrier in the valley of my roof and since no insulation was in my attic the ice and water entered my home and destroyed more of my home. It was also identified that none of the insulation they did install is not up to code. The two vents they replaced for me in both bathrooms is also not up to code (not vented anywhere). This company is stealing money and not fixing what they were supposed to up to code. James claims the refund from the insurance for the 23,000 I paid belongs to them which is not even remotely theirs. I have not seen an invoice or anything proving they used all of the over 150,000 my insurance paid them. Do not waste money or time with this company. They also tried to instal a French door without insulating it. Really? There's plenty more to tell but I'll leave it at this. Update: James is again claiming false statements when all issues were identified by Insurance adjuster and licensed home inspector. I had to pay for the insulation myself which is over 5,000 dollars that was sent to DGK to complete. Where is my reimbursement for that. We will let the law decide who's in the wrong. All code violation are very real and the fact he chose to bash my review proves he's reaching too far on this. As for the ICE issue, we had three workers call us and threaten my family if DGK did not pay them for work done at my home. One stated they had no papers to be here is why James won't pay him then threatened to paint my house all black. I'd say I have a leg to stand on when it comes to that.
