Very unorganized and take a lengthy amount of time to get things addressed in the rental homes. As a renter, I am doing more of the property management. I have been forced to have to make decisions for the homeowner that I should not have had to make. I also have been responsible for following up with the service repair people because no one else does it. Truly dissatisfied. read more

Ray Realty exemplifies a complete lack of professionalism. As a prospect renter, I have seen 7 of their rental properties. They were all in atrocious shape, carpet falling apart and dirt everywhere. One place still had clothing remains of the previous tenant. Did they even prep this place? Of course not. Run a vacuum real quick to get the "clean" feel and presto! I think not.. This company has personally called me and made threats of calling police on me for having "stolen" property. I went to them and asked to see ONE rental property: - They copy my Drivers License, take my cell# down - Hand me the keys! I spent 3 hours looking at 10 different properties across the myrtle beach/conway area, one of them being their poor excuse of a rental. I get a phone call after 3 hours and am told how inconsiderate I am and I reply with apologizing for having the key for 3 hours, it was not my intention, I am on my way in to return it. They then expect me to stay on the phone with them to be disrespected even more. 1. I did not sign a single piece of paper regarding what time the key should be back. 2. They did not verbally tell me to be back before a certain period of time went by. True to word, I went in to their office to return the key and what do you know? There was no one at the front desk. I say hello once, no one hears me. The bell even rings when the front door is opened, people... In a rush to get the rest of my business for the day complete, I simply placed the key on the front desk in the little glass opening as it would be impossible for someone to miss.. Someone as in the "sweet" old secretary. Instead, after hours of driving out of town I receive threatening voicemails on my cell phone, and on my family's home phone out of state. WOW! These people clearly don't have any regard to people who have hard earned money to pay for a decent rental home. They are AGEIST older people who treat those of us in their 20's (I'm 23) as children and inferior. I am just another human being (an adult not to mention) trying to handle my own business in a professional manner. The decision was made for me that with Ray Realty, I wouldn't get to have a professional experience. I have been working for as long as I was able and have always given strangers the upmost courtesy because THATS HOW I WAS RAISED. I was also raised by professional REAL Real Estate brokers and agents. I have grown up in this world and am appalled at how business is done in a sweet little town I have been living in for 5 years. I pretty much agree to the last person who posted.. Very unorganized and unprofessional, and the managment is ignorant. They expect you to follow the terms in the lease but they feel as though they dont have too, like the lease clearly states landlord must give a 24 hour notice before entering property, and this has never happened once. If your looking for ignorance, ray realty is perfect for you. read more

As a tenant, I called them several times and left messages but never received a call back on more than one occassion. I was transferred to another city with my job and could not make contact with anyone. When I finally spoke to someone she had an attitude with me like I was a terrible person because I had to break the lease. In the past when I have been transferred due to work, the other places have been very kind and returned all deposits due to job transfers. However, Ray Realty said I would not receive my deposit back, which was a very large amount. I would not recommend this company if you want to rent from someone who actually cares about your stay in their place. They are really nice before you sign the lease, but afterwards, they could care less!!! read more

Renting from Ray Realty was the worst renting experiences that I have ever had. I have lived in Easthampton, MA, Boston, MA, Burlington, VT, and Conway, SC in 7 total apartments/houses and have never had the kind of issues I had while renting from Ray Realty. We lived in our Conway home for two years and experienced all of the things the other reviewers experienced (non-response to our issues [including frozen pipes twice], shoddy repair people coming to complete work, and a dirty rental at the time of our moving in. All of these things were things we were willing to tolerate, however, that is until we moved out. We gave our month's notice, requested a walk-though with us of the property (which went unanswered), left our house immaculate, and moved out. After calling myself to confirm with Bonnie Grice that everything was left pristine, she had a few complaints about the property (dirty stove pans and oven, an untrimmed bush and tree undergrowth???, and unswept porch), which I explained I had forgotten to clean inside the oven and sweep the porch, but the other things were left in the same / better condition then when we moved in. All she said was, "Well, ok.." and that was the end of the conversation. Until we received our security deposit refund check which they kept $125 from!! I was livid so I called and left her a message. Of course she didn't bother calling me back. I called again the next day 5 minutes after they opened the office and spoke with her. To sum up what proves to be a very long story... this property company is a fancy slum lord. They will not maintain your property, and they will steal your money when you move out. I am currently FIGHTING for our $125 back because these allegations are absolutely ridiculous and I have photographic proof that the condition we left it in was the condition we received it in. HOWEVER, DO NOT RENT from Ray Realty. They run a racket and a monopoly on all the properties in the greater Conway, SC area, but do what you can to find someone else to rent from. This was the worst experience I have had the misery to encounter. read more

Do not rent from this company. They are the worst. They will not fix anything on time. I was warned but did not believe the person that told me. I just assumed because I was told "she had a poor pay record she was bad mouthing the place." I should have believed her. The only reason I stayed with them was because I did not want an eviction on my record or deemed as "a breaking lease person" as a reference. When my lease was up I moved. I was asked if I wanted to continue my lease for another year.....I politely said NO. The landlords I have now are excellent. Anytime I need anything fixed they send someone ASAP. Ray Realty gave me an excuse one time of that they have so many properties and only two maintenance guys. Well isn"t there a such thing as supply and demand. If you have a bunch of properties wouldn"t you hire more maintenance or better yet why are all these properties having maintenance issues?? The landlords I have now does meet my demands. I am happy. I went to Chicora rentals and I suggest if you are reading this you do the same. read more
