Been there twice for prime rib and it was huge and delicious. The baked potato was also huge, the size of a small football. This time I had the Italian beef and it wasn't good at all. Seemed like 2 or 3 times more cheese then small bits of beef. Could not taste beef at all, only cheese. Should be called a cheese and beef bit melt. I'll definitely go back for the prime rib but will be hesitant to try anything else now. Wish I could gave 5 stars. But not after that sandwich. read more

Best pizza around! This cute little bar/restaurant is located right off of Highway B inconvenient to Hayward and Winter. It's definitely a little dated inside but the pizza is amazing! The staff always seem to be a little short, meaning they could use a couple more, but they're friendly enough and if you're in the area, like pizza, I definitely recommend you stop by! PS: They actually have a pretty extensive menu however we got hooked on the pizza and haven't deviated yet. read more

Stopped in last night, Saturday for dinner. It was unusually quiet for a Saturday night, but hey, that's my wheelhouse. To get to the dining room, we had to walk through the bar where there was maybe three or four people. There was a pool table, a Ms Pac Man and a couple other games in the restaurant side and an "arcade" between it and the bar. My mom asked me to split a burger with her, I declined with an "I'm really hungry". Each of burgers came w a pickle spear, a small cup of coleslaw and a plethora of fries. We both brought home half of our burgers. My cousin opted for the Chicken Cordon Bleu and my aunt for the shrimp. We all enjoyed our meals in the quiet atmosphere. Our server, the bartender, Connie was friendly and helpful, when I asked her how she liked the burger? Our food came out quick and hot. We got a chuckle during our meal when the lights came on and then a bit later shut off again. There were several windows to provide ample light. Update, today we decided to give Ray jays another shot for the all-u-can eat fish. Well unfortunately we got the same absolutely worthless server again! This time the place was almost empty. She had a total of 3 customers including our table of 2. We ordered 1- fried fish and fries, and one baked fish and fries. Order came out after approx 20 mins. It was completely wrong. It was all fried and with baked potatoes. We reminded her what we ordered. After 20 mins it came out wrong again. Our waitress got mad and kicked a chair as she walked away and left the wrong food. Went to this place several years ago. At least an hour drive from our cabin, but we heard it was so good and it really was!! Decided to go back a week ago. Holy shit! Awful, just horrible! Service was laughable, it was that bad!! Don't know where she kept disappearing to, but finally we gave up! Our food never came, she never came back to take another drink order. Don't eat here unless you want to wait 2 hours on a Wednesday for all you can eat chicken. When I say that I mean it was 2 hours before we touched any kind of food. The salad was out in 10 minutes and the fries in 15. 2 hours later I asked where the pizza was and was told it would be right out. 5 minutes later the server came to the table and told us our pizza order was just being made and it would take another 1/2 hour. I had high hopes for this place. Our total time there was 2 hours! The appetizers took 30 minutes(ok that's fine.. I guess.. Everything was deep fried..) all the appetizers were delicious, broccoli bites, cheese curds and poppers. The entrees took another 45 minutes to come out we ordered 4 burgers, chicken fingers and I had a chicken sandwich. EVERYTHING was overdone! The burger/chicken sandwich buns were so hard it hurt my throat to consume it. The chicken sandwhich was so over cooked the chicken inside was hard. The burgers were so over cooked they were pretty much inedible. The establishment should have higher standards for the food they serve. I had heard this place had an excellent fish fry, so I gave it go with my family. The restaurant was fairly busy with only one server, but she did an adequate job at greeting, and taking our order. The wait time was a little long for our main course. The fried fish was dry and very ordinary. The baked fish was bland and seemed like it was under the heat lamp for too long. Definitely wouldn't go back. We went there on a holiday weekend, and the first thing we were told when ordering a pizza is "the pizza oven is broken". Um...ok. So we proceeded to order 2 different dishes. Both of our entrees came with fries. An absolutely ludicrous amount of them. Generous is one thing, but this was downright wasteful. It would be one thing if they were any good, but they were clearly frozen and slightly freezer burned. My sandwich was ok...nothing great. The burger my better half got was extremely greasy and the only discernible flavor was too much salt. The service was friendly, but very slow....I'm talking the kind of slow where you start to think that you'd have been better off cooking at home(or the cabin) on the deck. As we were leaving, the party next to us(seated about the same time), got their pizzas brought to them? "What?! I thought the oven was broken?" Apparently not - the person was a seasonal 'regular' who was ok with cheddar on their pizza instead of mozzarella. So it seems that it was a bit of fiction that the oven was busted - for some reason they didn't want to fess up to being out of cheese. How that can happen on one of the biggest holiday weekends is beyond me. We were going to order cheesecake to go, but the rate things were moving it would have been another 30 minutes. You know we almost didn't go here because of some of the reviews we read on Trip Advisor. After we decided to try it I have to say that I do not know what some people expect. We had the chicken, my Wife had the fried, I had the smoked and both were freak'n awesome. The smoked was tender, juicy and perfectly done. On top of the awesome food, we sat at the bar, had great service, and chatted with the owners who were great. We swapped Dog stories and talked for an hour. This place USED to be great but no longer! We went in on a Thursday and were told no pizza for over 2 hours as a large carry-out order was placed and overwhelmed the kitchen! We stayed for the all you can eat chicken and watched as dozens of people came in for pizza and walked out in disgust after hearing pizza was unavailable! We saw the gravy-sucking pig with Minnesota plates (expensive SUV) pull in with his daughter and pick up 8 pizzas and walk back in to pick up 1 more. No tip for the wait staff and all of us us paying customers in the restaurant left tips as normal but walked out unhappy! We had a pizza which was really good with nice stretchy, gooey, real mozzarella. The beer battered shrimp were good also and there had to be a pound and a half of shrimp to the order, very generous. The shrimp and a salad would have done it for the two of us. read more
