The Peugeot 3008 was a very comfortable car in like-new condition and we had no issues with it whatsoever. We will rent from them every time we come to England. They are so much better than the large corporate companies.

My intial enquiry was dealt with very efficently, and I arrived early on the day of collection to find that the paperwork was ready, the van was ready and I was on the road within 10 minutes. Their Gatwick premises were immaculate, and the hire fleet were in a similar condition - I did not see a vehicle that was over a year old, or other than pristine. Upon return - which was out of hours - the facilities to leave the van and keys was effortless, and I received an email from them early the next day - Sunday - confirming that they were happy with the condition that the van was returned in. I did not have any preconceived ideas of what to expect when hiring a van, however Mercedes / Audi levels of efficency and customer service, and an immaculate hire fleet was far beyond my expectations - and they were the cheapest too. I can't recommend them highly enough! 11 out of 10 stars.

I received a very warm welcome which was so appreciated as I was very stressed. The Son of the company was a complete star, polite, helpful, informative and speedy everything was explained to me in easy to follow detail and within a very short space of time I was mobile again! I had the car for 3 days at a much more competitive rate than the other company were offering without having to pay a deposit just credit card security hold, no excessive excess fees and when I returned the car I received an equally friendly welcome and was even driven back to my garage free of charge by a lovely guy whom shared a touching storey with me. I would thoroughly recommend this lovely family run business to anyone and incidentally should you have to extend the duration of your 3 day hire the cost is so reasonable, great company.

My experience of car rental companies to date had been so so at best. I was stunned that they called me within about 5 minutes of my insurance company approving the rental to me over the phone. They offered to collect me from my house as they knew that my vehicle was not roadworthy and when I got there, they offered me a choice of vehicles. They told me that a set rental had been agreed with my insurance company but that they would liaise with the vehicle repairers and extend my rental as necessary. When I spoke to them on the phone and when they showed me round the vehicle they were incredibly thorough and professional. All car rental companies should be like this.
We needed a car to get out of London for a day to do some exploring. The only requirements we had…read morewhen searching for a vehicle was that we wanted an automatic transmission (husband drives manual but I'm not confident driving manual myself in case I needed to drive). And we needed a roomy backseat as we have a toddler with us and need space for a car seat. We selected a Lexus GS from their website completely missing the detail that it was an electric car. Upon arrival, they didn't have the Lexus but had a Tesla ready for us. Unfortunately this didn't work as we'd would be passing by some rural areas so we did not want the hassle of being required to charge the car, much less have to find a charging station. They were flexible in allowing us to get another car and we ended up with a Jaguar without incurring an additional cost. Pick up was easy as well as dropping off. We got back during the evening and since our hotel didn't have overnight parking, we made arrangements to drop the car off at the garage that night after they'd closed and then come back in the morning to drop off keys as they don't have a key drop off box. A bit of a hassle to have to come back in the morning but better than having to pay for parking at some random spot and worry if it's parked in a safe location. Things to note: they do not offer child car seats here (we ended up having to buy one) and the pedestrian entry point to get from the street ground level to the underground garage was difficult to find around the perimeter of Hyde Park. We were told to look for a big "P" which we later find out more than one exists. When made it to the garage, we didn't see Enterprise. There are other car rental agencies and when we asked around an Enterprise employee gave us a lift over to the correct area on the opposite end of the garage. With a jetlagged 3 year old in tow, that really helped.

I have never waited long for a terminal bus in either direction, checkin has always been efficient, they seem to have lots of staff and check you in from a tablet as soon as you're off the terminal bus, no standing in lines. Returning has always been as efficient and friendly. Yes they inspect the car, but touch wood, I've never had an issue.
ADVICE: TAKE TONS OF PHOTOS (EVERY ANGLE) AND VIDEO OF THE CAR YOU RENT!!! (You'll read several…read moreother reviews that give this advice based on their experience as well). If you don't document absolutely every possible piece of damage, no matter how small or insignificant, they will try to lay the damage on YOU. After arriving in the UK from the U.S on a 10 hour flight, we took an Enterprise shuttle from outside T-5 to the Heathrow Enterprise office and lot. We had pre-booked the car through a well known membership store. The branch was very busy, as you might well expect being at one of the world's busiest airports and it took us some time to get our car. One member of your party lines up in the small office while the other(s) stand outside. It's somewhat chaotic. A rep walked us over to the car and the three of us looked over it for damage, the rep explaining that damage had to be 'bigger than a golf ball' and showing us a circle cut-out on a piece of plastic for demonstration. One of us took a few photos, which later ultimately saved our bacon. When we dropped the car off at a different Enterprise location, (we had the car less than 24 hours) they walked around the car and claimed the black plastic that goes over the wheel well was 'popped out'. Looking at it, you could barely see it. It definitely wasn't something we'd noticed picking the car up, but if you stood at the right angle, you could see it was SLIGHTLY protruding. Long story short, the rep at the drop-off location filed a report. Fortunately, we had some photos, albeit, not the best angles. At this point, we were BOILING MAD since we'd had the car less than 24 hours and had NOTHING to do with the damage. We were about to spend a month on vacation on a cruise and in the UK. Over that month, we spent many hours (and wifi data) on communications between ourselves and Enterprise and our credit card insurance, trying to straighten out the situation. It really took a toll on our vacation enjoyment. Fortunately, after about 3 weeks and much mental anguish and aggravation, due to our photos and explanations, the claim was waived, really only due to the fact we had photo evidence. However, I'm sure some unfortunate future customer will have the same claim put on them. I would avoid renting from Enterprise as reading reviews, this seems to be a standard practice.

Unfortunately they didn't have a lot of automatic transmission cars to choose from (I can't drive manual). I just needed something small and cheap for the day, but unfortunately had to pay a bit more to secure an automatic. The pick-up went very smooth. The clerk was friendly and it only took a few minutes to process everything. Both the car and the GPS we reserved were ready for us. The car was very clean, with full tank of gas ready to go. Car ran well, no problems at all driving through London or the highway outside the city. When you return, there's an Avis lot a few hundred feet down the road that you can park in, then just walk back up to the office and turn in your keys. I had heard horror stories about Hertz and some of the other big names, so I was pleased at how easy and painless it was to deal with Sixt.

That's when these car co's may be of use. There are two that I have come accross, streetcar and Zip cars (which I think is American). Basically you pay a yearly fee of around £50 and then you can just book a car - the same day if you wish - and pay around £6 or 7 an hour to use it. With Streetcar you pay by the half hour and you get 30 miles free per 24hrs (so you don't have to pay for petrol within those miles) with Zip you pay by the hour but get 60 miles per 24hrs free. I'm not really sure if these are better than a cab - for short jouneys or a regular hire car - unless you are gonna use them a lot and so are cutting out the admin - but it's your call, good idea, but maybe not cheap enough to really make it a go-er.

Trains are 30 minutes apart on most days and are often late or cancelled at a moments notice by tannoy. This is very annoying. Trains go on past Wimbledon or Sutton to Streatham, Tulse Hill, Herne Hill, Farringdon, Blackfriars and St. Pancras. The station is good for Morden, Merton College and the next door Mosque.
