    Customer for life - We were on vacation in Texas when our…read morerental car had a flat tire. We were 2 hrs from the closest rental facility. Luckily, we were close to Discount Tire, 7906 N Navarro, Victoria, Tx. We called the rental company and they wanted to send someone to change the tire. I told them that we were at Discount Tire and since I was a long-time customer, they would fix the flat for free. When the tire was removed, it had several finishing nails in the sidewall and couldn't be repaired. The rental company first told us to drive it to the nearest rental facility to exchange the car but that was not an option since it was 2 hrs away. Thanks to Arlan Mayfield, who provided us with a tire, we were able to be on our way quickly without having to be delayed anymore by waiting on the rental car company (& let us keep our cold food in the company fridge)! Thank you, Arlan!!!

I recently had an issue with a set of 40,000-mile rated tires I purchased which showed unusual wear after only two years of regular driving in town and a few out of town. This wasn't a minor issue; the wear was well beyond what I'd expect under normal conditions, and it raised safety concerns as well as questions about product quality. As a long-time customer, I expected better performance and durability, so naturally, I was concerned and disappointed. Unfortunately, when I first brought this issue to the attention of a service rep, he didn't acknowledge my concerns as he brushed them aside. It was obvious that the problem was being minimized rather than addressed. I felt I was being dismissed because his response felt more like a formality rather than a genuine attempt to investigate or assist. I was looking for a fair assessment of what had gone wrong and what could be done, so that initial interaction left me feeling overlooked and disappointed. That experience left a bad taste and made me question the level of support I could expect as a customer. Well that question was answered, and my perception changed when Discount Tire Store Manager Arlin got involved. Right from the beginning, the tone of the conversation between Arlin and I shifted entirely. Arlin took the time to personally review the situation. He listened carefully to my concerns and what I experienced without interruption. Arlin inspected the tires thoroughly, reviewed my tire maintenance history, gathered all relevant information and went to work. What stood out between the previous interaction from this was Arlin's genuine intent to understand the issue and do right by the customer. Arlin never dismissed my concerns, nor did he recite policy or rush through the process. He was attentive, respectful, and genuinely interested in getting to the bottom of the issue. He owned the problem and made it clear he was there to help. What impressed me most was how far Arlin went to make things right. Arlin treated the situation with professionalism, empathy, and care. He recognized that something wasn't right, and more importantly, he took ownership of finding a solution. He went above and beyond to ensure I felt heard and valued, and he did everything within his power to resolve the issue fairly and efficiently. Arlin didn't just offer a quick fix or a generic answer -- Arlin went through the computer and showed me what my options were and when I agreed to a solution, he took action. His professionalism, integrity, and problem-solving mindset reminded me why I chose Discount Tire in the first place. He ensured that the resolution was fair and it reflected the company's commitment to standing behind their products. You see, Arlin didn't just fix the problem -- he reaffirmed the values and Mission Statement that Discount Tire claims to stand by. In an age where customer service is too often reduced to scripted responses and surface-level gestures, Arlin's approach was refreshing. He restored my confidence not only in their products, but in the company as a whole.
