First you choose your base ingredient for example rice or noodles then you choose the fillings let's say chicken, shrimp and mushrooms and after that you choose the sauce let's go with tikka masala. Yey youre all finished and ready to wait :) Food: I've eaten here a couple of times and also had take out. Portions are rather large and you have to be really hungry or fit freak to eat it all at once. Have to say that the dishes are really tasty and they are not sunken in to grease and the sauce is there just for the taste. So if you want healthy food custom made this is the place. Environment: Place is kinda small. There might be around 15 seats. A lot of people order by phone and take out. Interiors are nice and inviting. Service: Downside here is that they have a really small kitchen in the back and normally there is only one guy working and sometimes two so getting the food can be a bit of a wait. Last time I called ahead and they said that it will be ready after 15mins and when I got there 15mins later they hadn't even started my order. So I ended up waiting for 30mins in total. So call ahead if you are in a hurry and you have to understand that the dishes are really custom made for your order. Price: Not the cheapest place around Tampere especially if you compare to some chinese restaurants but still the concept is unique so you really can't compare. The dishes run around 10€ and up. I have to berate the waitresses though. Granted, there was only two of them but unless you called them quite graphically they did not stop by to ask if there was anything we needed. Positive things: - Good ingredients - Good basic level - Alternative for cheap Chinese restaurants - Asian flavored - Good location Negative things: - VERY slow service (we took a menu with two main courses, we had to wait the second main course 20-30mins after the first one) - Pricey: this is not yet fine dining but the prices are high. Maybe due to use of the famous chef - Some food not quite the general standards (ribs were very chewy for example, wasabi was very mild...) Like my companion said afterwards: she prefers Maruseki over this at any day, which is one of the few compatible restaurants to Masu in Tampere. ps. I had a French fish soup - with vegetables, salmon, clam shells and French baguette with a melted cheese and some sauce on the tope of that miracle. I liked it a lot! I decided on the pepper steak which was a 200 g serving with a a 3 peppercorn sauce with cognac with potatoes au gratin. The pepper sauce on the steak was amazing but I wish that the steak was bigger. For dessert I had a smallish French toast dish served with a scoop of ice cream. Dining was a pleasant experience and we had good service here. Four stars!
