I scheduled an appointment seeking compassionate guidance for a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). To my surprise--and dismay--Dr. Michael D. Kelly and his nurse practitioner denied me service without even reviewing my medical history. My last C-section was six years ago, yet instead of taking the time to listen, Dr. Kelly dismissed my request outright. As a patient, I expect at least a thoughtful conversation. Instead, I felt rushed, unheard, and judged--like I was being penalized for asserting what I believe to be a reasonable birth plan. The nurse practitioner's bedside manner only deepened my frustration; their off-putting demeanor made an already stressful moment feel untenable. At the very least, I hoped for professionalism and empathy. What I encountered felt the opposite. Seeking a respectful discussion about VBAC shouldn't result in denial of care--but here, it did. Disappointing indeed.

Patricia, who claims to be a manager, acted like I was lying, offered zero apology, and just told me to wait another two weeks for a new appointment and that I'll be added to a waiting list for a sooner appointment if that happens to happen. She didn't try to help, didn't apologize, and wouldn't even give me a management email to file a complaint or send any written confirmation for my records. She blamed a "change of team" and said she couldn't find out who helped me before. Completely unacceptable experience, no accountability, no professionalism, and no real solution.

Tracey Turner was a top candidate both in her background and her convenience, distance wise to my home. So I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best when I first booked an appointment to 1st Choice Obstetrics and Gynecology. It's a very calming office, generally always quiet when I come in. They are quick to get you checked in and even more so quick to get the ball rolling. The nurses (I've had 4 different ones) have all been super friendly and personable, even when I'm not so much of either but more so half dead, it's gotten worse as months progressed. Pretty sure it's a fascinating thing to watch a person's energy and life being sucked out of them, haha (kids start that routine even before they are around!). Doctor Turner has by far exceeded my expectations; as though I can have any given this is my first pregnancy and I don't know what really to expect other than it takes a daunting, long, drawn out, 9 months of being a human vessel. She is thorough with answering all questions and giving out additional informative information every step of the way. Very personable and friendly, you almost forget you're in the doctor's office, until you think about the idea that you can see the entire morning traffic racing down 45 and the blinds are all open wide and they tell you bottoms off today. Maybe that parts just me it just makes me laugh in an odd sort of way, you're on the 4th floor by the way no one can see you... I hope.

Between the feel ups after my exam was completed while the female who stood in the room with him turned her back to put away the tools used and the inappropriate staring / assistance insisting on helping turn my gown around when I was fully capable of doing myself but he insisted and stared at my nude body and joked about not seeing anything. In addition I've also never had an office do as much as possible to charge you and force you to come in for results to gouge more money out of you. Then to have such an out of date system you're standing there for 15 minutes just trying to get the card reader to take your payment. After vocalizing the inappropriate behavior presented by dr Morgan and confided in another doctor about what I experienced the whole office even the front desk lady knew about what I in confidence confided. So unprofessional all the way around and will never return or recommend anyone go here. Also if you want to wait an hour after showing up EARLY to your appointment then be my guest. We had such a great experience at SGF with Dr. Shah and his team. We had our initial consultation…read moreat the end of April 2024. We welcomed our little blessing in June of 2025! It took me a very long time to write a review because I have terrible anxiety but I would like to share my experience in case someone else is thinking about going to SGF for treatment. We had visited a different fertility clinic in the Houston area but it seemed to me that all they wanted was our money and did not care about the outcome. The experience at SFG was much more personal. We filled out the online form on a Wednesday and had our consultation two days later on Friday. From our first consultation with Dr. Shah we felt safe and comfortable. We felt like Dr. Shah really listened to our needs. Once we went into the office to get diagnosed Dr. Shah wanted to make sure we had the best possible chance at getting pregnant. During a scan he was able to see that I had a polyp in my uterus and wanted to remove it to give us a higher chance at pregnancy. Dr. Shah performed the surgery and found another abnormality when he did. Once a biopsy was performed, it was discovered I had cervical cancer. Dr. Shah connected me with several oncologist so that we could begin treatment/surgery whatever needed to be done to make sure I was ok. With in a week I was able to get an MRI and CAT SCAN. I was still able to get my egg retrieval done despite the diagnosis. I had a conization to remove the cancerous cells and once I was cleared we continued with implantation. In September 2024, we implanted an embryo and we were able to get a positive pregnancy test. Throughout my pregnancy Dr. Shah checked on me. During my treatment at SGF, Rachel also made sure to answer any questions and was very responsive. I am so glad we came to SGF, I didn't see myself getting anywhere with the other fertility clinic we had visited prior to SFG. The only downside we did experience was with Elizabeth in billing. We had asked about a military discount which she said we would qualify for and then later redacted her statement saying we did not qualify because we did the Shared Risk Program. She also declined to bill our insurance when we asked her to. Either way, Dr. Shah made a huge impact on our life and we are very grateful for him and his team.

Dr. Shah would even made a personal call himself just to check on me when I felt overwhelmed and asked for a break on the treatment. When I explained why I needed an appointment with the doctor, she simply said that what I described was normal and that everyone who called said it was urgent. She then asked me about my health insurance, but before I could even answer, she warned me that they don't accept HMOs; however, my health insurance is a PPO. So I will look elsewhere where I can actually find the care I need.
