The client hires the attorney, not the other way around. It is not supposed to work where the client must accept only what the attorney wants. Needs work on knowing the law, communication and how the courts work. Arrogant, withdrew simply because I questioned something, how dare I? I ask a lot of questions to really understand what I'm doing and I didn't get a lot of sensible explanations. However, I did get ridiculed and a huge bill for all my questions. I paid for an attorney to ridicule me, ignore my suggestions, and take all my money. Lesson learned. Will never hire another attorney as long as I live. Horrible experience. When I reported them to the ARDC I was told to hire another attorney to sue this attorney. Are they kidding? Yes, the corruption lives on. Lawyers are much more intelligent and important than the average person?? What a joke. Find a firm with good reviews that will treat you with professionalism. Lawyers have a bad reputation exactly because of firms like this. I will gladly provide documentation of my court records to prove my point. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE.

Someday, I wouldn't be surprised to see his son's up there too. This isn't just a law firm -- it's a legacy. Respected by fellow attorneys, but more importantly, by Judges and GALs. That matters. Chuck isn't just a winner -- he's part of a winning team. Rick is rock-solid, and Jennifer, their paralegal (and organizational superhero), knows my case inside and out. She's sharp, thorough, and makes sure nothing slips through the cracks. Meanwhile, my ex has burned through half a dozen lawyers. Me? I've stuck with Chuck and Rick through thick and thin -- and I'm glad I did. Did they win every single motion, big and small? Yes. Every. Single. Time. That's really all you need to know. As for Chuck's son Rick... Rick is a bulldog that doesn't take diddly-squat from no one! The cases he builds are clobbering, and his defenses are impenetrable. Rick's best quality is his honesty and ethics - always accounting for what's in the best interests of my children. His second best quality is he's not only super intelligent, but he works his butt off for you. Rick always comes fully prepared, and his comprehension of the issues is magical. His third best quality is he cares. He's been there for my children and me through thick and thin. I would never have guessed that someone would go so far out of their way to help my family. He always knows what the right thing to do would be. He communicates clearly, often, and responds quickly. Thank you especially for looking out for the best interests of my young children. As a father to special needs kids, it was very important to me that I got decision making - thank you! That, plus no child support or alimony from me. I'm very proud of my attorney team - Chuck Roberts and Rick Roberts are great men of honor - and they're your bulldog winners! Now, let's talk about money - my ex has to pay full price for her 1-man-shop attorney who charges full price even if it's just to make copies for her - with limitations of a 1-man-shop, time is short and mistakes are inevitable. I don't have to pay hundreds an hour when Roberts PC has paralegals, secretaries and administrators, and junior attorneys, and their office is directly across from the DuPage courthouse, so no travel fees. Be smart - and save on your wallet - they're efficient and on top of their game, a well oiled machine both saving you on attorney costs, and saving you child support and alimony. I was down on my outs and in tears when I started searching for a new attorney to take my case seriously and to take me serious. The day I started calling attorneys I talked to Jim Roche on the phone. He was one of 6 attorneys I spoke to that day. Out of the 6 he was the only one that stopped me from crying and gave me hope. He actually cared what I had to say. It wasn't just a case. I followed up for an in person interview with him to go over my case. My case was far from an easy one. I knew this in advance. When he spoke to me, he didn't care how hard the case was or how much the laws were against it. He took it on. Over the next year I would come to realize something really amazing about this office. The entire time Jim Roche was on my case I never felt out in the cold nor did I feel ignored. His office staff were always there to answer my calls and ease my anxiety. Specifically Kim Mazuc. There were plenty of calls to her while I was breaking down in tears that she is was kept me from crashing. She kept my hope up. Same as Jim. As my case went on I knew the chances of winning were slim to none. The laws in Illinois were against me. That didn't stop them from fighting for me. I was blown away by every single thing Jim did to keep my case going and how detailed and efficient it was. There was a time when I read a response he wrote and I literally broke down in tears. For so long I felt like I was fighting alone. But they changed that. I was no longer fighting it alone. I didn't win the case against the landlords however we received a judgement against the tenants. If I was ever asked since I didn't win against the landlords do I regret picking Theisen & Roche as my attorney office, I would say 100% NO! I wouldn't have it any other way. No one else would have fought for me the way they did. No one else would have felt like family calling. No one else would have been able to stop the tears and the anxiety. This place is not only highly respectable they are great people with great hearts. You won't find another attorney who will fight for you the way they do! You won't find office staff anywhere else that will treat you with the compassion they do. I promise you. This is where you want to go! Thank you Jim Roche & Kim Mazuc and everyone else from Theisen & Roche, LTD. 100% THANK YOU!

When you need someone to have your back.. you get a brawler…read more It's a Sunday morning, we answer the door and a perfectly good day in May 2014 is tainted by the foul, fetid stench of the beast on my stoop... Mr. Woodbury? It asks.. "Yes", I say. "you've been served" What the...? I had neglected to immediately inform a homeowners association of my change of address, I rectified it (acknowledged in writing in 2013 by the association) but they never made the change someplace. They raised our fees $20 a month, but because we didn't know, we happily kept autopaying monthly thinking that "all is right with the world" We were less than $300 in the hole and a phone call, letter.... email (same email since 1998) would have taken care of it. Instead, satan's spawn (just kidding, he was just a regular guy) showed up with a summons saying that they had amassed a lot of costs trying to get this money from me... just about $3,000 worth of attorney and late fees. This was the first that I'd heard about it. My regular Attorney couldn't get anywhere with them, they told him that if we go to court the costs will keep going up. Well, he's no dummy and he knows this situation makes no sense* so he tries to reason with them (he's doing this as a favor, it's not his kind of law) but they ignore him. We make an offer to settle... because I know that I owe and that there will be late fees. They tell us.. "See you in court" So I tell my friend that I think I need to get a guy that specializes in this kind of stuff.. a tough guy.. a LITIGATOR. *it actually makes perfect sense now, it appears that the association has something against landlords (I've had the same great tenant for the last 5 years) and are making things harder for us. I work with a lot of Attorneys, but most of them do family law, traffic court, real estate etc.. I saw Dave in the courtroom when I was setting up my trial date, he was representing a Plaintiff. We talked briefly in the hallway. Dave and I scheduled an hour to go over the case in his office. We met, and he informed me that I have an excellent case and that I should consider putting a very short time limit on the settlement offer that I had made the association.. so I did, and... They ignored me. Dave became my attorney, filed our appearances for court and sent a copy to the opposing counsel. Suddenly, the other side wanted to negotiate and came back with an offer. Now I have costs, so we told them "no". We made a low ball offer back... and they said "See you in court". We said OK. They asked what it was going to take... Dave told them... The F bombs were flying from the other side :) They settled for far less than I had offered them the week before. I was able to pay Dave Clark and the association and still have enough money left to take the family to Gibsons for a steak dinner over what I would have paid in my previous offer (wish I had called Dave sooner) Dave thinks we would have had even more success in court, but the settlement was close enough. A trial (however short and easy) is a bunch of aggravation that I prefer to avoid. A couple of things.. When we first talked I was thinking that my case was too small for Dave, he's participated in some pretty large cases. But i never felt that way. Outside of the courtroom, Dave is a nice guy. After our meeting I was confident that I had the right Attorney. He's comfortable in his own skin, patient, competitive (The dude has run a marathon in all 50 states... seriously, who does that?) and is able to argue facts appropriately. Hopefully, we never need him for personal injury problems, but I'm glad to have a guy that does Business and Contract Law as well as Landlord/Tenant stuff.
