Our school choir group came here on a tour and has a wonderful time. Our guide was wonderful in explaining how the farm operates and how Bailey the dog herds the sheep. The students got to bottle feed the baby lambs and afterward we were served delicious scones with homemade rhubarb ginger jam and tea! One of the highlights of our trip!

We made a stop here on our tour group, and I would encourage all to do the same. The farm is lovely, with so many cute animals. We saw 2 to 4 day old lambs that were just the sweetest! The owners of the farm are incredibly kind, and gave a great presentation on running a farm, wool, sheep herding, animals, etc. We learned so much! The highlights were seeing the young Border Collie herd the sheep, and getting to watch a few baby lambs being bottle fed. The visit ended with the most incredible scones and delicious homemade rhubarb ginger jam. I would recommend to bring the correct form of currency, as USD and credit cards were not accepted.

    Warm scones from the oven.

Every member of the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and their exceptional patience and encouragement--especially with the children--was truly remarkable. Great help from some of the young women who ride at the stable. The team's expertise and calm manner put even the most nervous riders at ease. They took the time to ensure everyone felt safe and confident, which made the experience enjoyable for riders of all ages and abilities. Our children, in particular, had the time of their lives and are still talking about the horses and the people who helped them. A special highlight was meeting the proprietor, Mr. Morgan O'Brien. His deep knowledge of the area's history, combined with his passion for sharing it, added a rich layer of storytelling that made the day even more memorable. Listening to his tales about the heritage of Castlefergus and its equestrian traditions was a privilege in itself. This was more than just a horseback riding experience--it was a warm, personal, and educational journey that we will cherish. I can't recommend Castlefergus Equestrian highly enough for families, history lovers, or anyone who appreciates genuine Irish hospitality.

She was in heaven. She rode Princess, a small white pony. That pony has some moves! She can jump her height. I'm 6'2" and they set me up with "Mr. Big".
