This was one of the best stops on our tour of Ireland! The owners are amazing people, incredibly warm, welcoming, and obviously passionate about their farm and work! Watching the sheep dog trials was fascinating--it obviously takes years of work and it was just so neat to see this specialized skill done right front of me. What a great insight into the Irish sheep farm life!
There is also a cafe and gift shop on the grounds, and the shop includes a lot of stuff (crafts, jewelry, weaving, paintings, etc.) from local people. They also have a really nice selection of coffee, teas, and scones...and the scones were served with fresh clotted cream and jam! I have dietary restrictions, and it turns out they even have gluten free options available, which was just another unexpected perk of the visit. The cafe staff were just as friendly and personable as the owners, and it was really nice to just sit in warm cafe and enjoy a quiet moment in the beautiful countryside.
I can't say enough about both the people and the place--this was by far one of my favorite parts of the trip! I highly encourage everyone to take the time to visit! read more
