Return policy is extremely strict. I bought a jacket there and the zipper broke within two weeks. Took it in to return and was no longer able to return it without having to go through an extensive return process. The manager wasn't understanding at all and not at all empathetic toward the situation. After being disappointed with Work n Gear I went to Rasenick's. This was a great experience. They had everything I needed even off season. I work in a refrigerated warehouse where temps get to around -10 and I needed a new warm coat so I came here and they had all the cold weather gear I needed. This isn't just for men's clothing. Rasenick's is working people clothing - women have at least 3 safety toe boots to choose from. I went with composite Timberland's for $125 and 2 pairs of merino wool blend boot socks for $8. I' They have quilted hivis zip up hoodies, coveralls, and knives. They really know their stuff in here. I gave the counter guy sizes and specs for boots, (8 inch, no steel toe, wide, insulated) and he went in the back and came out with every pair that met the requirements. I gave him measurements for arctic bibs, again he brought out all the pairs that would fit. They are really pricing lower these days. The Carhart bibs I bought cost the same as the best deal I could find online through Midwest! And the boots were $40 off! I was floored, their pricing was really competitive. This place has a great selection of work clothes, and the prices are very fair considering the top quality brands that they sell. Both my cousin and I were in agreement that this was a great place to find well-made clothing for both work and leisure. We walked in planning on buying a pair of boots, and we ended up with much better boots than we expected (on sale) and about two big bags worth of great clothing. Stopped in the other day and picked up a few things. There prices are maybe a little high but exuberant. I prefer to try things on and know it fits than ordering online. They have a big selection of work clothes. The prices are a little high seeing that sears is a half block away and is a lot cheaper. The owners are always there and make it seam like you are bothering them if you ask a question. I bought a pair of overalls there and that night decided I should of bought a bigger pair, of course they wouldn't take them back! All the tags were on them and I had the reciept. Been coming here for a couple year's now and am always happy with them. There are reviews here complaining about the pricing, but if you need quality work gear then you know your going to have to pay for it. Besides that yes, you probably can get it cheaper on Amazon if you wanted. Personally, if I'm going to drop $200+ on a quality pair of work boots then I want to see them, try them on, and see similar options in one stop. I'm not a hipster running up and down the Blue line trying to compare prices with the Carhartt store in Wicker Park. Like many of you I need something to get the job done and I need it now! I was a 15+ year customer until recently. I've brought numerous customers here over the years, not to mention all the money I spend there too. About 6 months ago I spent 200+ on some clothes. Well I got sick and lost like 40 pounds and due to illness , I couldn't fit into clothes anymore. Mind you tags still on . Never worn. I couldn't make it to store to return within the 30 day time. Well worth the drive, wherever you are! Great selection of work gear, including hard-to-find specialty shoes. Mostly, if not all, made in America. When I had an issue with my purchase, the current generational family figurehead behind the counter (after 100 years of Rasenick family business) did everything he could to fix the problem, eventually offering a complete replacement. Racism still exists! I have been a long and loyal customer to Rasenick's and I have never ever been treated the way I have been treated today. Today being January 16, 2016 I was looking for some clothes to purchase, maybe some Carhart vest but they didn't have the size I needed. So I started looking at some steel toe shoes that I wanted to buy and the sales person that was there, an older gentleman, rather not a gentleman, ball headed with glasses , was hounding me like if I was going to steal something, or like I wasn't a Long time paying customer. I understand it was almost 5 o'clock and they were ready to close but I would think they wanted to make a sale on a pair of steel toe shoes / boots rather than try to kick me out and leave five minutes later after making the sale. Maybe he was intimidated by my size and my nationality which is Mexican and I am 6'3" tall. I was trying on a pair of shoes and he asked me are you going to still try on those shoes because we close at 5 o'clock and I was like yes I would like to try on the shoes to possibly purchase I told him don't you guys want to make a sale and he said no we don't need to make a sale we need to get out of here at 5 o'clock, and I said wow you don't want to make a sale before closing up and he says it doesn't matter to us if we make a sale or not!!!! I was totally shocked and normally I am not treated with such disrespect or racism but obviously my size didn't intimidate him, which I didn't try to do I was just there to buy some shoes and some other Carhart stuff. But they have lost a long time customer, who and which owns a construction company and does multiple subcontracting out for other companies. I have always bought or recommended my workers the store to buy their work gear, but I will no longer be doing that. Thank you Rasenick's for showing your true colors .
