My friend and I were staying in Jefferson and decided to eat at the closest restaurant in Louisiana (Largely so we could brag to our Austin friends that we went to a different state for lunch). The outside of the building looks a little sketchy to be completely honest... But the inside is pretty cute (especially since it is connected to a gas-station AND a casino). The customer service wasn't great... the waitresses were short with us and were really hard to call over. The food though? AMAZING! I got the crab cakes with sides of red-beans-and-rice and coleslaw. I devoured the whole thing in minutes! My friend got the fried catfish with fried oysters, same story there- she gushed over how delicious it all was! We'll visit there again next time we are in the area, hopefully the staff will be nicer!
