Two months ago I attended LB1 at the beautiful Rapport Leadership International retreat in Alamo, Nevada. The moment I stepped in the doors, little did I know how drastically my life would change for the better. I had no idea what to expect and it was definitely THE best experience of my life! I gained so much confidence in myself while learning the proper techniques with which to better not only myself , but those around me. I learned the core values of teamwork along with personal growth. I was taught new methods of thought process which enabled me to step outside my comfort zone , think outside the box and just trust the process. These classes are so full of enthusiasm and synergy you can't help but come out a winner ! I HIGHLY recommend RLI classes to everyone looking for ways to improve themselves for whatever purpose. The training and tools I was taught to use have improved my life, not only professionally but personally as well. I am looking forward to attending LB2 and Power Communications in the near future. I attended a couple of their trainings and became close with a couple of the employees at that time (been a few years). Here's the breakdown: 1. Yes, the tactics seem manipulative, as they are, but it's not about pledging allegiance or joining a cult. I believe the trainers genuinely want people to grow in leadership. Do they keep you up late? Yes, because you'll more easily access your emotions the next day. Are the trainers a bit offstandish? Yes, because they want you to form bonds with your team. Do they keep things "secret" and not provide an agenda, etc? Yes, but it's to keep you on your toes. Everything seemed to have a reason behind it. 2. It's less about leadership and is more about stretching you as a person. The "Leadership" they teach is basic and common knowledge. They just put you in processes to "practice" and to take action and not sit back. 3. The company is a MESS. Their entire history is full of people stealing money from the company, inter-office affairs, people fighting, etc. The leadership DOES NOT practice what they teach in the trainings. It's not a good company culture and struggles financially A LOT! My friends always seemed torn about whether to go or stay at the company. 4. Not everyone needs it or will benefit from this training. From what I saw in my classes, it was really beneficial for certain types of people, especially ones who have never spoken up and stood up for themselves and their beliefs. 5. The trainers are not officially trained as coaches, nor do they even have their own business/leadership success. Some do, some don't. They're trained by other trainers at the company, not coaching professionals. What they are is woefully underprepared to handle any sort of mental health crisis or trauma experiences that may come up. I remember in one of my classes, a guy mentioned that he had been "locked in a room as a child." No one knew how to handle that. 6. This training can trigger unresolved issues, trauma, or open up old wounds. For some, that might be okay, but no one in the room is ready or trained to handle it. They do also set up a very dark room for a hugging process that is just weird - eyes closed, hands by your sides, and you have no idea who's coming up to hug you? and you can't talk? No thanks. If anyone has been a victim of SA, this isn't the place for them AT ALL. 6. Also, I don't think the trainers even are CPR certified, much less even first aid, and some of the training is quite physically demanding. 7. Most people only take the first training and never come back. If the trainings are that amazing, why do most people not finish all the other courses? I hope all this info helps. read more

Rapport Leadership is not a leadership class company, its a cult. I took their leadership breakthrough one course and I can tell you they use extremely manipulative tactics to break you down. For example the course I took was a 3 day course, each of the first two day's classes ended between 12:00 midnight and 1:00 AM. Classes started at 8:00 AM the next morning, and there was quite a bit of reading and "homework" to do in-between. So that's a 16-17 hour day plus time to do homework. Sleep deprivation is just one of the ways that they break you down. Another way that they manipulate is after every chapter in the guide book we used we would have to write a 1 page paper (exactly one page, no margins, no space left on the last line, they're super militant about everything). The paper had to be about what we got out of the last chapter. The problem with this was that the paper that we wrote was written in triplicate. One for us, one for the instructor who reminded us before we wrote each paper that the papers would be read in detail and graded (harshly I might add), and the last was immediately placed in a sealed envelope and sent to the person who sent us here. For most people that person is their boss. So they invented a way to guarantee positive feedback get sent to the person who is paying for everything. Trust me you wouldn't dare write anything negative on your paper for fear of being singled out and ridiculed by the instructors. Speaking of which, there was plenty of singling people out, yelling, creepy "hug each other in the complete darkness", and "share super personal details about your life" sessions. I'll end this review with a question. How does memorizing the song America the Beautiful and shouting it at the top of your lungs, alone, in front of a large crowd of people, help you become a better leader? If you think that's the pathway to exceptional leadership then this course is for you. However, if you're a sane, rational person, then you should avoid this company like the plague that it is. read more

This is not leadership development. They use classic "break you down then build you up" techniques. They use manipulation tactics like turning up the heat in the room when they want the participants hyped up and cool down when they want to calm things down. Too much self-disclosure and sharing with strangers. Many people in my class acted like we were super close family, after only two days! The reviews you've read about screaming and emotional manipulation are 100% true. I have NOTHING good to say about Rapport. read more

With the leadership skills I gained from this class, I learned to take control of my choices, take action, live life on the skinny branches, and share my enthusiasm for life! read more

These training classes changed my life! The tools that were introduced to me has taken my career to places that I never would have believed. I have used this training in my career, my personal life and truly all phases of my life. I am now wanting my young adult children to experience this, I do believe it will help them in every situation in life -in their professional and personal growth. In the last three months I have attended both Leadership Breakthrough 1 (LB1) and Power Communication (PC) The skills and perspective that I gained from LB1 were so impressive that I literally jumped at the chance to attend PC. This is not one of those things you attend and maybe get one or two good things out of it. This is a get you out of your comfort zone process that you get many positive returns from. PC also lived up to the hype. I work in HR, and have successfully applied many of the skills I learned in PC to my regular work day; and experienced amazingly positive results. Through these two classes I have better discovered myself, met lifelong friends, and gained a confidence to take action. I have already planned to attend Leadership Breakthrough 2 next year, and look forward to being considered a Master Grad. I highly reccommend Rapport Leadership International. read more

Not a leadership training school. It tries to create personal growth in an unhealthy way using traditional brainwashing techniques. You sign numerous secret-keeping disclosures and aren't allowed to ask questions. They create cognitive dissonance within unsuspecting individuals to achieve their desired results. read more

I graduated from Leadership Breakthrough One end of 2016. It is a very well organized and structured program. You go in one way and leave a totally changed person in a positive way. It brings out the leader within and was definately life changing for me. This program is a must for teens and adults. I saw some amazing transformations and breakthroughs. I was nominated for the Power Communication course by my employer and I dreaded it from the moment I was told. I made up my mind that I was not going to enjoy it and just "do my time" until I could get back to work to get caught up from the 2 days that I missed. What a life lesson I learned. I thought that I, at 41, had already matured and learned all I needed to know. This course and I my classmates changed me. Rapport+ teach us things that we already know, as members of a civilized society, but the way in which they point out how your narcissism affects people around you is heart wrenching. I entered as a closed off and bitter individual and left as an open and rejuvenated member of a "work" family. I know that we will keep each other accountable as we re-enter our work environment and I hope that I get to experience the magnitude of the change after ALL employees get the opportunity to experience this attitude altering class. read more

I found out about Rapport Leadership International from someone I interviewed for a position with my former company (Jeff). Jeff told me about how the training instilled confidence, absolute belief in oneself and a respect for teammates. He highly recommended it for teenagers as well. My son (17 at the time, September 2011) was blessed with God given gifts that he wasn't developing so I signed him up for the training. The training lasts roughly 48 hours and takes place 90 miles outside of Las Vegas in Alamo, NV. Participants generally fly into Vegas on a Friday, take a taxi to Rapport's office 10 minutes from the airport, meet their classmates around noon and depart together on a bus to Alamo at 1.00 in the afternoon. The bus takes everyone back to the Airport on Sunday afternoon, arriving between 5.30 & 6.00 that night. I attended the graduation ceremony and was absolutely blown away by the transformation I saw in my son and in the class of 18 teenagers. Training starts with attendees who have never met. We naturally "size up" people and make up our minds about who they are, about their value or lack thereof based on initial impressions. Through the training the group grows to be very close and each participant learns how to look within people to see good and to understand how we each have a great deal of value. Participants learn leadership skills and emerge from training knowing they can accomplish anything they choose to accomplish. Through the training participants learn what holds them back in life. Each of us are responsible for our own success. We make daily decisions to lead, to follow or to make ourselves irrelevant. The training teaches skills so that attendees understand how to choose to lead daily. I attended shortly after my son and have sent my other two children and my wife. Only my youngest went willingly...the others went very reluctantly. All were very glad that they went and will tell anyone that asks how valuable the training is. The training is intense. I've been to a number of graduation ceremonies and, when asked, 100% of attendees say it's the hardest training they've attended. I agree. Attendees also have 17-30 new very close friends (their classmates), they have a new outlook on life, are extremely happy and are ready to knock down walls. Rapport has a unique way to getting the best out of each attendee, never pushing anyone unnecessarily, but challenging each participant to be the best version of themselves. It is truly an amazing transformation. I reflect on what I learned regularly. This is unique in all training I've attended and has made an impression unlike any other training. read more

Before attending the Breakthrough Leadership retreat, I knew that this was going to stretch and challenge me--get me out of my comfort zone. I was encouraged to trust the process. my parents forced me to do this as a teenager even though i was a straight A student and never got in trouble and this shit was WHACK. they make you yell and sing and hug random people and get blindfolded. we even had to sit by a fireplace in the dark in a group in silence. and stare into people's eyes and get your ass chewed if you laughed or moved. and write letters home like you're in prison lol. the food was good though. the staff or whatever are complete assholes but that's the nature of the program. like military boot camp, break you down and build you up. so a lot of these participants come out like reborn enlightened humans because they've been forced to yell and do random embarrassing shit for an entire weekend. save your money, the programs are hella expensive. oh and they don't allow big groups of minors to have their cellphones. being bussed out into the middle of the desert in a state many of them are likely unfamiliar with... quite sketch if you ask me. strong republican vibes lol. so in conclusion, unless you have a victim complex, are a masochist, or want to be humiliated and screamed at for no reason, I do not recommend this place. But they should do DoorDash cause that food was fire tbh. read more

RLI is an inspiring company and I would guarantee that anyone who was unable to give a positive report about the school and the lessons provided either did not understand the message of each training course, was incapable of stepping outside their own comfort zone, or has never actually been through the classes. I am a master graduate, which means I have completed Leadership Breathrough One and Two and Power Communications, and have also done Eagle Quest. That's approximately 125 classroom hours! These classes were taken between 2006-2012. I also volunteer my time several weekends a year to go back and assist trainers with classes. I can say with all integrity that the benefit I have received from my training there is immeasurable. I have incorporated the skills I learned there into every aspect of my business and personal life, and continue recommending friends and relatives to improve their arsenal of experience by going through this training. read more
