I am so grateful for Susan Hicks. I had a UTI. I'm an adult female in my 50's and this is not my first rodeo. A wise provider knows this and asks the right questions. She is the first provider who has ever asked me, "What has worked for you?" When I told her the medication, knowing it has side-effects others do not want to prescribe it because of, I expected an immediate push-back. I told her, "It's the only medication that actually works for me." She didn't even blink. She agreed to prescribe and said, "As long as you know the risks associated, I am fine with prescribing what works for you." I did not go to urgent care for 3 days because of the battles I have fought previously with providers to get the medication that works for me. They always want to try different ones despite my stating over and over, for 30 years it hasn't worked, so it won't work now (Surprise! Even though they are always insistent that maybe THIS TIME it will work, it doesn't!). I appreciated being respected as a patient who knows her body and knows what works for her. I will go back here going forward! What a change to be respected as a patient. read more
