This morning was my first visit in about 2 years maybe, and it started off good enough. BIBA…read more(brought in by ambulance) where I was immediately given a hospital bracelet, EKG, blood works, and fluids. That was when it ended, I was shooed off to the waiting room around 2:30 AM, and as of 5:00 AM I am STILL sitting here with a mini fluid vial in my arm with no sign of a doctor or nurse to see me. I'm angry, exhausted, hungry, and just want to go home. This place is awful and possibly the worst hospital in the world, they don't care about you, just want to get your money and leave you to rot in the waiting room.

Extremely Disappointing Experience at Salem Hospital Observation Unit…read more I recently spent two days at Salem Hospital after arriving at the Emergency Department with unbearable pain under my left rib and an inability to tolerate food or even water. First, I want to acknowledge the Emergency Department team, who were absolutely amazing. They were professional, compassionate, attentive, and thorough. They performed multiple tests, identified some inflammation on my right side, and recommended that I remain in the observation unit due to my ongoing symptoms. Unfortunately, my experience changed dramatically once I was transferred to observation. During my first day in the observation unit, no additional diagnostic tests were performed. A gastroenterologist evaluated me and explained that if I could not tolerate a meal, he would perform an endoscopy the following morning. I attempted to eat but was unable to tolerate the food. I was then told to prepare for the endoscopy the next morning. By that point, I had gone nearly two days without food or water, relying on IV fluids while continuing to experience significant pain. Bloodwork was finally performed on the morning of my second day. After another painful and sleepless night, a different physician came into my room and informed me that the endoscopy would not be performed after all. Instead, I would need to schedule it as an outpatient procedure. I was extremely disappointed and frustrated by this sudden change in the treatment plan, especially without a satisfactory explanation. What was the purpose of keeping me in the hospital for two days if the diagnostic procedure that had been discussed and planned was not going to happen? Throughout my stay, I received IV fluids, morphine, and medications to reduce stomach acid. While I appreciate the efforts to manage my pain, I came to the hospital because I was suffering and needed answers, not simply temporary pain relief. I understand that medical decisions can change, but there should be clear communication and coordination between physicians. One doctor explained that an endoscopy would be performed if I could not tolerate food, and another doctor canceled that plan the following morning. After two days in observation, I was still experiencing the same pain that brought me to the hospital, without a definitive diagnosis or a clear explanation of why the planned procedure was not performed. I am genuinely grateful to the Emergency Department staff for their excellent care. However, I am deeply disappointed with the lack of communication, consistency, and continuity of care in the observation unit. Patients who are experiencing severe pain and cannot tolerate food or water deserve clear answers, appropriate medical evaluation, and a coordinated treatment plan. I hope Salem Hospital takes this feedback seriously and reviews how patients are managed in its observation unit. I expected much better from a hospital that is part of the Mass General Brigham system.

This is a review for the gynecology office. I was seen in-person at Lahey Peabody by Corinne Prigo,…read moreNP and Dr. Michelle Gruttadauria. Both Dr. Gruttadauria and NP Corinne were extremely kind, empathetic, skilled, informed, and went above and beyond expectations. I would absolutely recommend them to any of my friends for gynecology care. Corinne was also willing to see me same day after my previously scheduled appointment was cancelled by another clinician, which was so amazing.

After surgery, my foot was left crooked and I developed a large open wound that was never explained to me. She put a cast over it without telling me anything. When I returned to have the cast changed and finally saw the wound, I almost fainted. No one had warned me about it, and at one point it was close to becoming necrotic. I had to stay in bed for two months because of severe swelling and fluid. Instead of receiving support, I was treated as if I was being dramatic while I was clearly in extreme pain and dealing with serious complications. I later learned that a screw had been placed directly through the middle of my joint, and I ultimately needed another surgery to try to correct the damage. To this day I am still suffering the consequences. I have difficulty walking and constant pain that now affects my legs and back. This surgery took away the active life I once had. Based on my experience, I do not recommend Dr. Lobo at all.
