The visit was quick and painless. The PA Stephanie was very knowledgeable in identifying the issue.

Beware of their billing practices. I was quoted $150 out-of-pocket to remove a single milium,…read morespecifically because insurance would not cover it. I paid by card that day. I later learned they billed my insurance $289 for a separate office visit from that same appointment, which hit my deductible. My records show two notes for that one appointment: the milium procedure, signed the day of my visit, and a second note for facial acne, signed the following morning. The claim was for treating acne vulgaris on my face, a condition I did not come in for, was never told I had, and was never diagnosed with out loud. Tretinoin was raised by the doctor as an option for the single milium, and it appears in that first note. My asking her to prescribe it apparently became a second, billable visit. When I called to ask why a self-pay cosmetic visit had been processed through insurance, the billing manager told me this is simply how they do things and asked how I could not know that. He agreed to waive the balance but said he could not void the claim, so the charge and diagnosis stay on my insurance record. He then told me I was no longer welcome at the practice. Get it in writing, before your appointment, what will and will not be billed to insurance, and check your EOB afterward against what you were quoted.

I called because I had an issue with my prescription and wanted to see if it could be resent. Unfortunately, the person who answered the phone was very aggressive and defensive. I was simply trying to explain what happened, but she repeatedly interrupted me and told me I needed to redo my exam, which was not true. I had never taken the medication because I had lost it before I was able to start it. I also mentioned that I had called the day before (or possibly the day before that) and hadn't heard from the pharmacy. Again, I was interrupted and told that the office wasn't open yesterday. I understand that working in a medical office can be stressful, but I was completely courteous throughout the conversation and did not feel the way I was spoken to was appropriate. It's especially disappointing because I live just a block away and thought I had found a very convenient place to receive care. Unfortunately, after this experience with the front desk, I don't feel comfortable coming back. Dr. Nadimi was great, but the front desk experience was enough to make me look elsewhere for future care.

She is so compassionate and doesn't hesitate to prescribe the strongest medications available for my severe eczema. She is knows all the latest eczema medications. She understands how difficult it is to have eczema and I can tell she genuinely wants the best for me. Plenty of free 2 hour street parking in the residential streets or paid parking in the attached garage.

However, my recent experiences have left me quite disappointed, especially considering the sensitive nature of the services provided. In February, I decided to get a biopsy for a mole that was growing. The staff promptly took a sample for testing, which I appreciated. However, I was left without any follow-up regarding the results. I had to reach out myself to get the information, which I initially brushed off as understandable due to their busy schedule. Fast forward to my follow-up appointment on July 7th for another mole they had initially flagged. Again, they took a biopsy, but here we are over six weeks later, and I still haven't received any updates. I've tried calling, but unfortunately, I've reached out on days when the office was closed. It's disheartening that patients have to chase down their doctors for updates, especially when it comes to something as critical as skin cancer testing. The communication process needs significant improvement. While I really like the office's location and have had positive interactions with the staff, including Amber, who is always sweet and attentive, the lack of follow-through on biopsy results is concerning. In cases like these, timely updates should be standard practice to provide patients with peace of mind. I hope they can address these issues because I would like to continue my care here.

In fact, just writing that combination of words makes me wryly laugh since it's close to impossible. Sounds like a fairy tale right? Made up. Like go find a four leaf clover and make sure it's purple. Prior to my visit I would have told you that it is indeed equally impossible to find such a doctor as finding this four leaf clover. "So," old me would have said, "go stuff your expectations for this dermatologist into Elon's SpaceX rocket since there's no place for them here." In other words - give up (especially on the Westside). However, and I say this rarely, I was wrong! There is one person out there who justifies and surpasses those expectations. Dr. Roberts is the happy ending to my quest for a dermatologist who is trustworthy, intelligent, thorough, up-to-date, and experienced, with a lovely bedside manner. But on top of that her staff is unbelievable - my paperwork wouldn't come through and Patricia was so helpful, and shockingly patient (I would have gotten tired of me and my emails). During my visit, she and her staff were actually KIND, as in genuinely nice with their interactions, which I had pretty much given up on in the world of westside dermatologists. Her nurse, Brielle (sp?), was sweet to me. Seriously - actually sweet. I know - get back in your chair because you fell out of it. I was able to go through all my concerns and questions. Dr. Roberts actually diagnosed me and prescribed medication instead of selling me some multi thousand dollar treatment featured in US Weekly, but this was what put me in a Disney movie ... wait for it ... they offered to bill my insurance to get me a reimbursement since my visit was medical! I literally almost fell over. A dermatologist asking for my insurance card. I was so unprepared, I didn't even have it with me. Truly a shocking experience, due entirely to how pleasant and helpful it was.

I come to my appt 4 months later and right as I walk in the door they tell me Dr. Roberts isn't even at the office. They do not know when she is coming in either. They said they could try to fit me in around 1pm with the other doctor when my appt was at 10:45. It's pouring rain outside and I had to park blocks away since they do not validate parking in their garage. After paying for parking, arriving soaking wet through the rain, they almost told me I couldn't wait for the Dr. in the waiting room. I asked for a chair to sit outside in the hallway and they obliged my request to sit in the waiting room. This means my $100+ deposit to secure my appt is a loss for me and gain for them, and it makes me wonder if this is happens to others. I asked the front desk lady about what they plan on doing about the money I had already paid or if my visit today will be discounted based on the issues and she shrugged her shoulders in response. I chose Dr. Heather Roberts based on the reviews I've read, but unfortunately I was not one of the ones who received that treatment. I understand emergencies may happen, but the office should've been more professional and proactive phoning those with appts hours before their time. Especially those who have been booked for months. I cannot justify paying full price for a visit that's already cost me a great deal of money, but most of all time I cannot get back. Word of advice: CALL the office before you drive to your appt to make sure the doctor is there- because the office will not call you in time.
