Cold and wet. To be honest, a bit musty. Lots of tired youth. Def would not recommend.

My father in law was a resident in the facility for just over a month. It was a clean and safe…read morefacility. The employees were exceptional with him as well as with us as a family. Sharonda went above and beyond to help us navigate his discharge. Dallas was funny, kind, caring and went above and beyond his job description to accommodate our needs. Tucker was my father in laws favorite employee. He made him feel safe, loved. My father in law said he needs to go to nursing school bc he would make an outstanding nurse. He truly cares for his residents. Sherry was so helpful. Every single employee we encountered was exceptional. If we needed anything someone was available to see to our needs. I cant say enough good things about the facility. And once my father in law was discharged home. Sharonda and Dallas personally drove him home and got us all set up and showed us what to do. It was a great experience. Thank you Oakview Nursing facility for loving your job and your residents.

Just last week I made a visit to a friend who is a resident of Oakview and I was pleasantly…read moresurprised to find the interior clean and fresh. Please don't think badly of me but my previous experiences with convalescent centers/nursing homes had mostly been fair to worse. The predominant odor was stake cigarette smoke and most likely coming ftom the staff since everywhere I could see were No Smoking signs posted! The employees I interacted with courteous and helpful. After signing in and answering the obligatory questions regarding my COVID-19 status I was allowed to wheel my friend outside to visit. The patio section was small but did function as intended. My friend informed me that she was very pleased with the care and treatment received here. Also said the meals were much better than across town in her previous site. Overall she gave Oakview a good rating and in my brief time there can only concur!

No qualified nurses on duty!! Blood sugars are NOT monitored and insulin is not administered as it…read moreshould be. They use a system in their computers that allows them to be able to fully lie about checking or not. They fail to physically report any glucose reading for diabetic patients. They house over a half a dozen diabetic patients and don't even offer dietary diets for them. This place is a danger to any person that steps foot in the filthy doors, patient or not. Management is nonexistent and the DON-Tamesha avoided any type of resolution or responsibility and refused to speak to me because it was her "day off". She stated she didn't want me to have her number but happily gave her coworkers number up to avoid all responsibilities. It took calling an ambulance to the nursing home to check my family member out for someone to even talk to us. The staff do not care about your family members being here. They believed a renal failure patient with a blood sugar of almost 600 was not a crisis and allowed him to sit there all day without intervention. The employees are completely unqualified to be running a unit with physically impaired patients that require assistance. Night shift is nothing short of a dangerous situation with the lack of intelligence assigned to caring for these helpless patients. Staff failed to provide continued IV antibiotics causing my family member to get a secondary infection in the lungs causing respiratory distress and requiring draining and a chest tube. PT consists of moving to a chair and being left alone immobile for 2-3 hours. Call lights ring constantly and no assistance ever arrives. My family member waited 2 hours for bathroom assistance and no one ever came, he urinated all over himself and the urine remained on the floors for over 24 hours without anyone cleaning up. Patients are not bathed or assisted with so much as teeth brushing. The residents are smoking in the bathrooms which are connected to other residents rooms and stink up the entire facility. The utter disregard for the safety of these patients alone should warrant it be shut down. Not to mention the staff lying about what their positions are they hold. They attempted to make me sign a AMA form knowing it would instantly drop my family members insurance for his rehab and he would have no where to go. If this wasn't a Medicare facility these employees would be jailed and the facility would be shut down. MALPRACTICE AT ITS FINEST. Don't send your loved ones here unless you want them to die.
