I have both purchased computers and used their repair service. The most recent experience I had was with Lane at the Thomasville location. My computer failed to install an update halfway through the process and kept giving me a "stopcode" message. I dropped my computer off and explained my problem. Lane diagnosed the problem and installed the upgrade directly in the shop. The charge was nominal and he did not try to upsell me on a new computer. I highly recommend these folks for any of your computer needs.

I took the phone back to unlocked cellular where the owner told me it was not the battery and suggested I take the phone to the apple store to have them diagnose the problem. Apple genius bar associates said it was the battery and suggested the reason I had this problem is because the charger had a poor connection and may have not been charging correctly or caused an electrical surge that affected the battery. They replaced the battery and all is well for now. I went back to unlocked cellular to tell the owner what happened at Apple. He said none of this issue is his responsibility, he would not refund me any money. His customer service skills were very poor, not wanting be held accountable for supplying faulty chargers to his customers. I will never do business with this company again.

Maybe 4.5 would be more fitting but that's more about the situation than the business or John, the…read moreman who handled this project. After trying in vain to get my laptop fixed in Indiana, I came back to my mom's house and decided to look for a local repair place. My family had had a negative experience years back with this business but everything I'd read on line hadn't alerted me to any red flags and I really wanted to avoid having to buy a new laptop since the type I wanted seemed to be nonexistent. It turned out that John thought he had a screen that would fit (unfortunately it didn't) and the price was in line with what I expected. While repairing my screen, John said that one of the video connectors was also messed up so I needed a new motherboard. Fortunately, the quoted price didn't change and I was able to get this laptop back sooner than I feared I would. He was also kind enough to add more memory to the computer since the hard drive had almost none & was able to save the documents I'd had on my system before things got messed up. There's a reason this place has won local awards for good service. If you don't want to use Geek Squad, buy a new laptop or try fixing stuff yourself, you should definitely check out this place.
