David is professional and thorough, and has helped me navigate several technical and complex legal issues in negotiations and in court. He has also reviewed documents from an attorney I hired prior to him, and helped me navigate the negative consequences of a poorly drafted separation agreement. In addition to his technical expertise, David has taken the time and care to really understand me and my family so that he keeps our core values and priorities in mind at all times. He does a great job explaining all of my options to me, giving me his recommendation, then giving me room to process and make a decision. I know that I will have his full support no matter which route I decide to take, and that he will always advocate for me. I have felt truly understood and cared for, and that I have sound, accurate legal advice whenever I need it.

After years of representation and substantial fees, my experience did not match what they promote. I retained Sodoma Law for an interstate child‑support matter. My case proceeded all the way through a trial, where it was confirmed that my child support should increase from $98 a month to $865 a month, along with arrears. After years of litigation, preparation, and expense, this outcome should have been the resolution of my case. Instead, the most serious failure occurred afterward: my child‑support modification was ultimately **dismissed for lack of subject‑matter jurisdiction**. Because the matter involved UIFSA and an out‑of‑state order, a proper jurisdictional analysis should have been done at the very beginning--long before trial, long before years of litigation, and long before tens of thousands of dollars were spent. Instead, I pursued a modification North Carolina could not legally decide. At no point during those years did anyone at the firm communicate that jurisdiction was uncertain, that the modification might not stick, or that there was any risk the court lacked authority to decide the case. There was no warning, no strategic discussion, and no indication that the entire effort could collapse. I only learned of the jurisdictional problem when the court dismissed the motion outright. This was especially devastating because the trial outcome had already established a significantly higher support amount and arrears. None of that could be finalized because the jurisdictional foundation was never properly addressed. Sodoma Law also promotes strong communication and client support, but my experience was the opposite. Shortly before important proceedings, the firm moved to withdraw and stated in their own motion that I should not expect a continuance despite being left without counsel. They will leave you high and dry without any concern. I also discovered that my client file was incomplete. Only after I questioned it did the firm acknowledge that documents had been "inadvertently not copied over" and then added additional materials. For a firm that advertises meticulous case management, this was troubling. Most concerning of all, when I raised fee‑related disputes connected to the jurisdictional error, *he firm simply stopped responding. Navigating the consequences of their mistake became a long, difficult, and unnecessarily burdensome process--one I had to manage alone, despite the substantial fees I had already paid. For a firm that markets itself as client‑focused and communicative, refusing to address fee disputes tied directly to their own error was deeply disappointing. If you are considering Sodoma Law, I strongly recommend not to.

Thank you so much for your help with our situation with the Internal Revenue Service. I had…read moreprepared and paid my taxes correctly each year, but the tax service I used for 4 years did not file them properly. Instead of penalizing my tax service, the IRS penalized me, even though I filed and paid my taxes every year. Originally, I considered hiring a Tax Resolution Service to represent me. But, after reading reviews for those companies, it appeared to me that many of their clients were simply trying to reduce their tax debt. In my case, I had done everything right, and I did not want to be labeled or looked at as someone who was just wanting to have their taxes reduced. I wanted the fines eliminated!!! At first, I tried to explain my situation on my own to the IRS. They denied my request the first time to eliminate my fines, as they said that even though I used a tax service to prepare my taxes, the results were still my responsibility. Finally, I hired this law firm to represent me in an appeal. I have no idea how you explained the situation better than I did, but I just received letters from the Internal Revenue Service stating that my account for those years was settled and paid in full. Thank you!!!! Thank you!!! Thank you!!!! I was facing around $15,000.00 in fines, and those fines were settled with the work you did representing me. I hope many people read my review and see what you could possibly do for them Sincerely: Danny Smith Statesville, NC

We worked this way several times, then I received a $5500 surprise bill for 6+ months of work without ever being notified of the charges. Not to mention that the overpromising and underdelivering on how long things would take was extreme (was promised several times she would have things done "next week" and it took several months). Will not be working with them again. They are now forcing me to pay for services rendered without ever telling me how much it would cost. Very unethical and disorganized practice in my opinion.
