Because they took care of fixing it quickly, and the hygienist who came in during her off hours even said that the dentist got her Starbucks for coming in to help (which I thought was lovely). So second visit. I received a text message asking if I wanted to schedule a cleaning. I clicked on it and the only option was for Emergency. I left it and scheduled. I was on vacation and started getting follow up phone calls and messages to call. I called. They wanted clarification about the "emergency" and I explained I just needed a cleaning. When I showed up for the cleaning today, they were confused. They whispered, had me sit down, then invited me back to the chair. The hygienist said she was there for the emergency visit, and I had to explain it all again. I told her that I was confused and she shared how she didn't work there, then went to get the woman from the front who then interred herself as the doctor. She tried to explain how they needed to do a pre-check on my mouth to determine the type of cleaning, "because insurance companies don't like to pay for a $99 visit." I told her that I just needed a basic cleaning. I was told that today would just be a screening. I left, and I felt like they had a problem with my insurance, so they didn't want to treat me. The whole thing was such a waste of my time and a huge disappointment. If you decide to book, make sure you get the details of how they operate at this place. Super sketchy and strange.

I've been a patient of Dr. Streelman's for a couple of years, but my most recent experience was…read moreenough for me to move on. At a prior visit, I had a crown that came loose more than once. I was surprised to be charged each time just to have it re-cemented, but at the time I didn't question it. Recently, an old filling failed, and based on my prior experience, I scheduled an appointment expecting to have a crown done. I arrived early, as usual, and was seated quickly--but then waited about 15 minutes before seeing the doctor. After a brief exam, I was told I needed a crown--which is exactly why I had scheduled the visit. After another wait, I was presented with an estimate of $2,300 (my last one here was ~$1,800 a couple years ago, so I understand pricing has gone up). I agreed to proceed. That's when I was told they didn't have time to do the procedure and I would need to come back and reschedule. This was frustrating. I had scheduled the appointment specifically for this work, arrived early, and still left without anything being done. What really pushed it over the edge was being charged for the consultation on the way out. I've since found a new dentist with a much more efficient setup--same-day crowns, lower cost, and a more professional patient experience overall. Where the heck did the additional charges come from? ----------------- Dr. Ybarra and Dr. Yuen are amazing dentist. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about them. They were a pleasure to work with and I wish i could continue going to this location. However, the billing department is a bit outrageous. $18 ,580 for one implant, some bone graphs, and switching a bridge to caps. This was my price out of pocket after insurance covered what it could. I know i was overcharged because i called other offices in the exact same dental network and collected their estimates. A different office explained it this way: There are set prices which they must charge for insurance legality reasons. But if it's not covered, the office has some leeway and can offer incentives like 20% off for new customer, seasonal sales, etc. to make the package more attractive. When I called OMD to ask why I was charged so much the office managers response was "our doctors are specialist, and they use specialized materials ". That excuse doesn't fly when the other offices in the same network have doctors whom are just as qualified and use the same equipment/resources/materials.
