I told Dr Paquet I didn't want the result to be too noticeable; he did such a great job that my husband could barely tell. I can tell of course, but I still look like me. When I went in to the surgery center they were so kind - and my anesthesiologist was amazing. Surgery went very smooth. When I left the center I had about 48 hrs of discomfort and couldn't do much, but on day 3 I was out of bed doing a few things for myself and no longer needed pain meds, only OTC. I never had dark bruising!! Only a little yellow appeared on day 4 through 6. On day 7 I was getting antsy to leave the house, all bruising gone, and on day 8 I had the splint removed and immediately loved the look which has only gotten better with time. My neighbors came over the night I had my splint off and did not notice, they were amazed I had surgery only the week before when I told them. Mind you another doctor emailed me saying he could get it close to invisible for $2k. Dr. Chasby told me that it was permanent but refused to make a record of his medical opinion which I needed for my law suit, saying it wasn't as bad as other scars he's seen. Just because it isn't as bad, doesn't mean it still isn't a permanent ugly bite mark on my body that I do not deserve and will have for life. It's my body, and I WILL BE THE ONE who decides what looks 'fine' on MY BODY. He then stated that he "could not give me extra padding if I planned to file a law suite." No sir, I am not requesting that. But I am requesting you make record of the professional opinion you gave me that I am indeed permanently scarred. He then had the nerve to tell me that my legs looked great regarding their muscle tone attempting to distract me from my frustrated tears. I quit calling him Dr. because to me he hasn't earned that title, only man that didn't handle his mistakes probably. Even at our last appointment before he moved to Arizona, giving me packets of gauze telling me to change the dressing myself as I was in pain and oozing.. but he was moving to Arizona and I wasn't his concern anymore, or so he thought. I went to the emergency room myself that night had two different infections they admitted me immediately. I was lucky to live through the Serratia from unsterile medical equipment and other infections. My whole life was changed forever. I couldn't return to my normal job ever or ever have normal boobs again.. I am still not normal and think of him every time I have to look at my boobs just praying they will be normal to some degree again. My recovery after he moved lasted over 2 years. First there was a series of open wound treatments, 3 weeks as an inpatient in hospital and numerous other medical procedures. Oh yeah let's not forget having to insert interventions antibiotics 4 x's a day myself through a pic line because without it I would have died. After all these years, I am still finding forgiveness hard, but moving forward with my life by helping others make informed decisions. I hope the best for him and his new patients and hope no one has to endure what I did. If you call the medical assistants and leave a message they'll call you back in little time at all - you will probably never have to follow up with another phone call. My mom, being my caretaker during my downtime- assisting me with breast cancer my diagnosis /surgery / aftercare feels the same way. She's had to call for me too while I was recovering, and they treat her with the utmost importance, compassion and care. We're both super impressed. Noteworthy- I didn't think I would see him on the day of my surgery because he was the second half of the surgery, But he walked in, greeted me before surgery and prepped me and my mom Which just helped with peace of mind.
