My mom received some disgusting oysters that were probably left out for days, had literal BLACK MOLD on them (as seen on the pictures below). They smelled soooo bad (like piss and a garbage can that's been sitting out for a while). When we took them back to one of the managers there and I asked for her to smell them and she said she was ok and that she could smell it through her mask she had on. And trying to make things right I bought two chicken tamales and they were completely DISGUSTING! I have heard really bad things about this place but still decided to give it a chance. I called spoke to Maria (Manager). doordash order but this is not a their problem but the kitchens fault at rancho. never had an issue in the past orders. Stopped here going south on 101 to grab a quick burrito. I have been to this one before and others up north. I hate to say it but this is the worst burrito I've ever had in my life. The salsa was fine as was the beans, rice, salsa , pico - however the beef was horrid. The beef was so over cooked it was like trying to eat little bits of rocks - no Flavor except burnt and hard - like it would break your tooth hard beef. First time i visited cashier kept talking to me in spanish while he was socializing in english with the bagger(eventhough i would reply in english he still would talk to me in spanish??!!) At least the line wasnt too bad took less than 5 minutes to check out. Since then I have been there 3 or 4 more times from early afternoon to very late in evening and lines at checkout are stretching to ailes. The selection at the store is fair at best, the produce is cheaper than Safeway but not as high quality and FoodsCo in Soledad is far superior if you are looking for variety and price. Unprofessional staff. Waited in line for the kitchen department for over 15 minutes. When I walked into the store I noticed there was a sign that the kitchen staff should be back in 10 minutes so I shopped around and got what I needed. I then went to wait in line and still no one ever came. I must have been in the store for at least 30 minutes. I was in the area and stopped in. I found some hard to find items. The store is clean and well organized. If your in the area you should take a look. The cashier was friendly and if I was in this area again I would stop in. The only negative comment is there were lots of shopping carts all over the parking lot with no cart area to leave them at after shopping. read more

Whenever I drive on Hwy 101 on my way to Northern California, sometimes I stop here to eat traditional Mexican food. Its a supermarket next to the Walnut Ave exit in small Greenfield. My favorite meals are the chicken soup with corn tortillas and the chile relleno or bell pepper filled with cheese and fried with egg and Spanish rice on the side with no beans and warm tortillas. The meal is more nutritious than fast food, at about $6, and its served quickly. They have lots of clean tables and clean restrooms. They also have family meals for about $12 but its too much food for me. Customer service is not always great; I was about to pay for my take out meal when the manager showed up to refund a customer that was not even waiting on line. He was eating his meal while I waited about 10 minutes for the cashier who was trying to figure out how to refund the other customer. The cashier paged the manager twice before she appeared as I was about to pay. They had me waiting another five minutes until I had enough and walked out. read more

They don't carry some of the items Food Co or Safeway may have. Their produce as far as fruit are sometimes spoiled. The store is kept clean. The meat department is great. The food court area is ok. This store is deplorable. Nothing nice to say about the staff. The selection of products skewed toward a very specific demographic which neglects non-Hispanic customers almost entirely. The meat department always smell like rotten...specifically the shrimp and the chicken. The "fresh" baked items in the free standing cases Rarely have utensils so I've learned at this store you are supposed to touch and feel as you please which I know is a huge health concern. The produce, considering it is in a town that has a lot of farmers and field workers has low quality and frozen produce for a substantially high price all things considered. Management doesn't seem to care flat out. The cashiers seem to think that non-Hispanic people are incapable of understanding Spanish so they love to talk poorly about people to their face in another language when I was under the impression they are required to speak in English in front of customers, just like every other corporation is required to do so by law. I have no personal experience with this but I have overheard the cashiers, many times, tell people who use CalFresh (Food Stamps) and WIC, that they should not shop there because their money is not as valuable as the money of people who do not need assistance. I recommend leaving the area entirely. The only store worth shopping at within a 30 minute drive from this store is probably Costco in Salinas, otherwise save yourself even more hassle and just go to Monterey for everything and anything you can think of.
