I was there as both a patient and employee, and the dentistry is great but the admin/management is absolutely abysmal. I was unexpectedly fired through email while I was out recovering from surgery... not even the decency to get a call or meeting in person with such a delicate matter. This was followed by being unadded/blocked on social media by the managers Pete and Kymber when I simply asked if we could speak on the phone regarding the matter as professionals. Weeks later when I requested to transfer clinics, they withheld my patient records for over a week stating that they had to be reimbursed by my insurance first. My whole life I have had bad dental anxiety because of my childhood dentist. I have pushed through every 6 months because I know it's necessary to go. When I first moved to Germany a friend told me about Ramstein Dental Care. I decided to make an appointment have my teeth cleaned. I have now been three times and it's been awesome. The two hygienists I have seen were SO gentle. I had no pain whatsoever. I have seen both Dr. Rubino and Dr. Eastman during the exams and they are both very professional and nice. When I needed a filling touched up, I was able to get into Dr. Rubino's schedule very quickly and she was amazing! Very fast and so sweet. My experience with Ramstein Dental Care was an absolute nightmare! I have never had dental anxiety before, in all my life. I left there last year after several visits, including one of the root canals done incorrectly. This led to excruciating pain, visits to a neurologist, an MRI and a final diagnosis of Trigeminal Neuralgia. No apologies, no suggestion of what could be done to help, nothing. I am now going through procedures to try and put some of these issues to bed. I cannot begin to tell you of all of my several negative experiences with Dr. Backman. Think twice please. This place is the worst dental practice in the KMC area. I've had friends over the years complain about them too. Our experience, my wife went to have her tooth evaluated. She sat in the chair and the staff said there was nothing they could do at this time (no more than 5 min). We made and appointment for later. Well, that five minutes, cost us 45 euro! Why! Another friend was getting a crown for one tooth. The staff messed up on crown and had to do another. Well, my friend was charge for TWO crowns on the same tooth, again WHY! DO NOT GO HERE. I wish I could give them NO stars. HORRIBLE and just out for a quick buck. I was told all my molars were cracked and needed to be fixed right away. The amount they wanted to charge was unbelievable. I later went to my German dentist and asked her about my teeth and told her what Ramstein said. She looked at me as if I were a crazy person. She took x-rays and showed them to me, showing me there was not a thing wrong with my molars. I have taken my son there for braces and what a joke. The doctor is very hard to understand. Even his helpers have a hard time understanding him and often have to ask him to repeat himself. This is not a place you want to go to. Go on the economy if you can and get better care for 1/2 the price. If you are civilian like us you have to pay Ramstein Dental upfront and you might just have a heart attack with their pricing. Here are some examples. Tooth extraction: RD: 100 euros p/ tooth ( they are not putting you under) My dentist on the economy: 25 euros p/tooth ( not put under) Filling: RD: 100 euros p/filling My dentist: 35 euros p/filling Cleaning: RD: 250 euros My dentist: 30 euros for regular cleaning 100 euros for deep cleaning. For a whopping 50 euros my dentist cleaned and sealed my sons teeth. Just because these people are American with the exception on the orthodontist does not mean they are the only dentists in the area. Do your research and find someone else. read more

Dr. Bachman, Dr. Rubino and their team are amazing! I love the ambience of the office. My family and I have always felt cared for while attending this practice. I've gotten cleanings, fillings and wisdom teeth extractions here. Not to mention the location is very convenient. It is awesome to know that there is an American dental office right off base. They may not have the benefit of being "in-network" like stateside offices, but they always helped me get my reimbursements back from my insurance company. I love this office! read more

Saw the first review and was a little discouraged. I was in desperate need of care after I found myself with a horrible toothache. I called and was seen the same day. Came back shortly after for a procedure after I had time for the meds to kick in, and have been back a time or two since. Every time I have been there I have been pleased. There is always a little bit of a wait to be seen (isn't that typical of most dr offices though), never has it been excessive. I have seen two of the dentists and several other staff members. Everyone has been very thorough, kind, and friendly. Looking forward to my cleaning in a few months. read more

For those reading the reviews on Ramstein Dental, please look at the 4 reviews that are not pulling up. Most are one star since you have to give it some kind of a rating. I wrote the review about Dr. Bachman, who arrived late, and "not quite right." After I had two other dentist look at my molar, they felt that it never needed a crown in the first place. The orthodontist clinic also told me that I needed to start my daughters orthodontic treatment all over again at a cost of 6,000 Euros. Not true. Horrible clinic! Don't use them! My husband and I stay in Stuttgart aria, and we do not have here any American doctors and dentists (except on post). So, in "Stripes" magazine we saw a commercial about Ramstein Dental Care Clinic and decided to make appointment with them. I do need some Implants and teeth corrections, and I had great experience back in America with dentists. Therefore, I will not mention how we drove to Ramstein with all this traffic, and how we wore frustrated with it. When we arrived to clinic, stuff on reception was very friendly and helpful with paperwork. Dental assistant invited us to room and prepared me for doctor consultation. She said that we have 30 minutes for all questions and doctor will be there soon. Dr. Gressell late 20 minutes and stated that he one of the best in this aria and he knows everything because he has a lot of education and experience. He looked and my panoramic X-ray and quickly said what he wants to do, for example pool out about six teeth and put implants there. I asked why he does not keep those teeth, he changes subject immediately. Our entire visit (about 10 mins), he showed that he has no time to waist. He was all that and could do everything, obviously not. Here's a hint, If a patient questions what they are going to pay 25,000 euro for, the doctor's response should not be "TRUST ME" and "don't question me!" Implants surgery is very series and complicated, that is why doctor supposed to explain things to patient and make a surgery strategy. Dr. Gressel was completely unprofessional and arrogant! We already decided on the way out the door not to let him touch my teeth. In a few days, I received E-mail from clinic and they said: "Dr Gressell has reviewed his notes from this appointment and has decided your required treatment is too complex for a general dentist. He suggests you to be seen by an implant specialist for further consultation." "Trust me" and "don't question me!" Are you kidding? Thanks for wasting my time. Worst 41 euro I ever spent for an idiot's advice. He can expect a bad review on every website I can put it. P.S. To further add insult to injury, and attempt to appease the situation they refunded my doctors visit charge. Unfortunately, I believe this was only to save face and avoid receiving a bad review. This refund does not change my impression or opinion of Dr. Gressell at the Ramstein clinic. I would not recommend being a customer in this clinic! Better to try local dentists who do care about their licenses and their patients. Unsatisfied customer!!! read more

This is the worst dental office I've ever been to. The entire time I was in the waiting area, all I heard from the office staff at receptionist desk were them talking badly about their customers--by name! After our cleaning, which took all of 7-9 minutes total per child, I decided to give them a second chance and schedule a 6 month cleaning. BIG MISTAKE!!! We asked for a different hygienist, and was scheduled with a different girl, but when we arrived, we were given the SAME GIRL. The receptionist was very rude and even rolled her eyes at me when I questioned why they changed our previously scheduled hygienist. I WILL NEVER go there again, and I will warn everyone of this terrible place!! read more

I had been to Ramstein Dental on several occasions. I have had teeth cleanings, fillings, and crowns done there. If you are considering going there I can only warn you that it will be very expensive and the quality is slighly lower than what you would get for a fraction of the price at any other German dentist. I would also advise that you take your credit card with you because you are required to pay at the end of each visit (A cash register is setup at counter) and it will be more than you expect. Dr. Bachmann is a passive/aggressive type of person and at first impression very likeable. For me the problems come down to trust and value for my money. . One negative incident that occured at Ramstein Dental was when Dr. Backmann was removing one of my amalgam fillings and there was no water at the staion he was using to cool the tooth (A big no no when drilling almagam because of possible mercury leeching from the heat) I had so much dust going in my throat that I coughed in his face. I will not return to Ramstein Dental and I would never suggest them to anyone. read more
