What drew me into the store were the Mary Lake Thompson cotton dish towels in the window. If you don't know these lint free towels, you must purchase them. All of the lovely artwork on the towels is done by Mary and her daughter and made in Oroville, California. 5 stars for service! The two women who were working here were extremely helpful in showing me choices for a cheese spreader. I didn't find my perfect match but my husband and I both found lovely gifts for each other to remind us of our trip to Mount Shasta. My husband's was a cool, double walled stainless steel mug with artwork of Mount Shasta by local artist, Cailin Henson. The special addition on this was a red carabiner which does double duty as a "handle" and an attachment. My gift was a pretty 2 cup ceramic teapot in sage green with a stainless steel filter. Both are from a British company- Price and Kensington. If you're looking for gifts for yourself or someone else while shopping in Mount Shasta, be sure to make a stop here. It definitely competes with most kitchen stores with the breadth of merchandise. The salespeople told us that the buyer has recently expanded this department. Great work! read more

Came in on a Saturday around 5pm. We were visiting Mt Shasta on a renovation project. We took a stroll down the main drag to check things out in this little town. This ace hardware was great and had a lot of things that everyone needs and wants. Glad to see this type of business in this quaint town. read more

Generally outstanding customer service; especially by the women, but most of the men working there are wonderful and so helpful too! Prices are generally reasonable when compared to other local businesses, and they have a great selection which includes a lot more than just hardware, power and electrical supplies. As I'm not a builder or living locally anymore, I can vouch for their products, and business practices overall, but I know when I had keys copied, they told me to bring them back, if the copies didn't work properly (& they worked perfectly). I've also bought cleaning supplies here and they have a varied including many environmentally friendly and natural selection. All the staff was great and super helpful. I came up for Labor Day weekend and ended up needed a few things. I ran to the nearest hardware store and luckily they were great. They had everything I needed. Everyone I talked to was helpful, even the young girl knew what she was talking about I was honestly surprised, she was so nice! The ladies at the front counter were orderly and fast as well. One of the girls at the front counter was a bit spastic though. She just kept talking to me even with a long line and I don't think she got the memo I was trying to leave. read more

My parents are elderly and shut in during the Pandemic. My mother looks forward to sending me to the hardware store every month to redeem the coupons she gets in the mail and at the bottom of the calendar she got from ACE. It just makes me smile. I was heading threw the area and stopped by while I was visiting family friends. Well there was a lady I believe her name was Jody. I was just browsing around when I over heard her talking to a customer so rudely and poor mannered to an elderly lady. The lady seemed confused as if she wasn't sure what she needed and was just trying to explain and Jody wouldn't give her the time of day and was very snappy. I tried asking for help as well and she brushed me off like I wasn't there when very loudly I said excuse me. read more

We visited this store on Super Bowl Sunday to get a toboggan before heading to Bunny flat. The lady that helped us was very friendly and helped us with what we needed. She even took time to make our baby smile and helped us recommending Yaks kaffe for a quick bite. (I'm leaving a review there right next to this one). We did not explore the store but by the looks of it it is a very well stocked and organized hardware store. We'll definitely come back on our next visit to Mt. Shasta ! read more

My wife and I purchased a snowblower, and brought it home only to find out it was running lean and required us to load it back up and bring it back to have Pat, the mechanic, address the issue. After a few minutes of inspection Pat concluded it probably needed a new carburetor. Let me remind you, it was already brand new and yes it needed a new carb already. I won't say the brand but it rhymes with draftsman. Pat went and got Thom. This gentleman took about 2 seconds to provide us with a litany of options, all in our favor, and literally took our problem away. It was fantastic old school service that you'd expect from a shop like this. We spent a little more on a blower that won't need to see the shop for years. Thom and Pat and the General Mgr couldn't have acted more professional, sincere, and accommodating. Thanks for the help gentlemen, you know we'll be back. read more

Bunch of young kids working, no coolers in sight, and the kids were too busy talking to each other to help. Didn't want to interrupt their very important conversation so I left. Truth be known, I like Ace rewards and their rebates. Get this, when it was all said and done I bought 20 pounds of birdseed, a squirrel stumper bird feeder and a 50 pack of heavy duty utility blades...all for the grand total of $0.79. So, when you add up all that savings, in the amazing world of "girl math", that means I can go out and by 5 bottles of my favorite Q tonic water and not feel once ounce of guilt. I was a tad bummed because I didn't get to see to the entertaining "Tony Robbins" hyper dude....oh well, next time. I think he only works at the front store (there's two). read more

Walked into the paint part of the store and two employees were talking to an obvious customer. They continued talking and ignored eye contact with me. Instead of waiting for them to stop, I just left in frustration. They could have abruptly stopped their conversation and ask if I needed any help. I would never have those two work at a store if I owned one! More customer relations training is needed! read more

This place has EVERYTHING! We honestly just came in here cuz we needed to use the restroom and they were super kind about it and directed us to where the restrooms were. While I was walking through the store I noticed almost every customer has an employee helping them out here and that was definitely a pleasant surprised. While there are some individuals who provide nice help, as other reviews have said some of them are over the top and often I feel some staff are too sarcastic and even condescending at times when helping you. Some people tout the great ACE Rewards, but that is not specific to only the Ramshaw's ACE. The reality is they are more expensive than other options in Mount Shasta and are definitely more expensive then the ACE in Yreka. Over the years, I now only go to Ramshaw's if they have a specific sale on something that I need. Otherwise, I go to Solano's Do It Best or wait for my next trip to Yreka and go to the ACE store there. read more

Serious, the biggest rip off place I have ever been in. Lots of things cost over twice as much as Home Depot. I bought a shovel there for 27 bucks it was an ok one. Found a stronger and better made one for 10 bucks at Home Depot. If you are going to spend over 100 bucks drive down to redding and you will save a ton of money even after buying gas and lunch. Sick of buying little shit there getting ripped off then have the owner say thanks. read more

we went to Ramshaws Ace Hardware in Mt .Shasta on Saturday 12/12/15. I was looking for a specific chainsaw and the wife was looking for a specific item. the guy helping with the saw was not only rude, he basicly told me I didn't know what I was wanting. I wanted a Stihl 461..he tried to sell me a Husqvarna and when I refused he says ok I have a deal. his deal was the wrong saw. I pointed out the difrences. he got irritated, condescending. I told him I would come back another day. he mumble something about whatever bla bla bla. I found the wife and she had a similar experience inside the main store with a woman. I said lets go. we will go to Solanos. at that store we were greeted by a ladie, Pam..so sweet walked the wife to exactly what she wanted, and it was 8.00 cheeper. I will buy my saw from Shasta valley chainsaw in Yreka CA. and will shop G&G Ace in Yreka as well. all I can say to Ramshaws...WE WILL NEVER COME BACK AND WILL TELL EVERYONE ABOUT OUR EXPERIANCE!!! read more
