I had Don review a small asphalt project in Cambria. A 12' x 12' fill and asphalt job on our driveway for our house in Cambria. Worked started in March 2025. I noticed a problem with the work and settling of the asphalt starting in May 2026. The asphalt has settled and started cracking. The soil was not properly compacted and has got significantly worse. I reached out to Don after the 4th of July weekend. He came out to take pictures and confirmed the problem. No plan no action to fix the problem. read more

Crooks ! Said it's cheap and easy, went to property but quoted me twice the actual size !!!! Took 4 weeks and dozen calls to get a quote of $19k to asphalt 2,625 sf.... Space is 75' x 35' and quote is $19k. Go elsewhere.I asked the size be recalculated as they measured a good concrete area that was not part of job. They do not return calls.HE HAS NO EXCUSES ! Ramsey Asphalt is the very best professional, quality service and value for your money you can get from San Luis Obispo to Santa Barbara counties. We had them scheduled to replace our whole parking lot along with the striping with handicapped assigned parking signage. They showed up on time, got to work and finished that very same day! All in one day! So impressive to watch them work. The whole crew was polite, professional, cleaned up after themselves and very committed to their work . We are so in awe of this company from the start to finish. Erica in the office for scheduling, Don the site manager, Oscar the site supervisor. You will not be disappointed using this in-creditable company with any of your paving needs. Thank you Ramsey Asphalt ! Kay and Mary Arroyo Grande local Commerical building owner. read more

Excellent job completing our road, upgrading from gravel to asphalt. The job was professional from the time they showed up till completion. Communication was the only challenging part. Always a lag from questions to answers read more

Huge thanks to Ramsey and the crew! I watched Scott's Chip seal informational video on their website, and I decided at that time, I want these guys to surface my driveway. I have a very long driveway (800ft) and large parking area, and it was important to me that it be done right, such that it lasts. I watched them carefully the entire time during preparation & installation, and they obviously knew what they were doing - all in one day! Good, coordinated crew that works well together. If you don't know exactly what you want, Scott can also help you with that. He offered me a professional solution to a drainage problem I was having. Again, done right, not something that will be a lot of on-going maintenance. I highly recommend Ramsey. read more

Amazing chip seal job. Really attentive to quality work and customer satisfaction. Have used them twice and will again ......

"Demonstrated strong efficiency and professionalism, delivering clean, high-quality asphalt and concrete work."

Working with Ramsey Asphalt was a seamless and professional experience from start to finish. We were honored to be brought onto one of their recent paving projects to remove several large pine trees and install 12 beautiful Chinese Pistache trees. Their team entrusted us with a big part of the transformation, and we're grateful for the opportunity. Ramsey Asphalt's organization, communication, and attention to detail made the entire job flow smoothly. It's clean they care about quality and partnering with professionals who share the same standard. We're proud to have played a part in enhancing the site alongside their paving and striping work. Looking forward to more collaborations in the future! read more

Just had our 3rd project done by Ramsey Asphalt! Highly recommend this company for their quality of work, timeliness and professionalism! They are the first and only company we think of when it comes to paving or concrete work! read more

Ramsey Asphalt restored & repaved a substantial and complicated shared driveway for me and my two neighbors and did an excellent job at reasonable cost. They were prompt and professional from the first call, understood the task, provided a good solution, communicated well and accommodated our scheduling requirements without any problems. The job was done completely and on-time, and the crew & foreman were excellent, willing to adapt to circumstance, and very attentive to doing high quality work. We did discover changes that had to be made after demolition but they held to their schedule even with the additions, and were reasonable with an upcharge that did not take advantage. I would not hesitate to use them again, and recommend them to others. read more

I recently requested a quote from this company their estimator came out and provided information and it did not line up with the other two quotes that I had I called and spoke to the owner and he scheduled a time with both the estimator and me to meet back at the property I cancel the sailing engagement to meet with them on site confirmed it with the office in the morning the estimator shows up at the end he then tells me that the owner is now out sick today and can't meet and could I meet at 2 o'clock on Monday I think it was inconsiderate but I thanked them on the front end for showing me the lack of respect that they have for their customers communication is 100% of the game if you don't have that quality and price mean absolutely nothing I would not recommend this company read more

Hello Scott, Your team was wonderful to work with. Lisa and I do our family bills every Weds night and will pay you tomorrow night. The communication from Alex and the team he worked with was great. From the moment we walked the site and discussed what the project and how we could move a couple plants to make both your teams work and the team who will be brining in our 15'x8' swim spa in it went so very smoothly. I was up before 7 and your crew was there and ready for action. Whenever they had a question that could improve the results they spoke with us and we were able to make decisions with ease. We have already recommended you to others and have heard from friends who have used you and been very pleased. The quality of the pad you provided will ensure our new swim spa has a great foundation. May 2022 bring you, your employees and your company health, wealth and continued success. Wish we had know about you for our concrete we did 10 years ago. I will work with Lisa to leave a positive review for you online. Kindest regards Bill Bodrogi read more

Scott and his team did an excellent job repaving our association. He took the time to come in and explain the process and overdelivered on his promises. Being a large company they were able to come in with several crews which limited our down time and made for a quick and painless completion. Would highly recommend. read more

The other day in my haste I posted a five-star for Ramsey asphalt talking into the phone out on a job site in the bright sunlight I've then notice later some of the spelling errors please forgive that. Ramsey asphalt is an outstanding outfit they stand behind their product and they truly do care as I tried to say they are the best business I have dealt with in the Santa Ynez Valley or at least equal to the best you will not go wrong using them. read more

My experience with Ramsey Asphalt has been excellent. We had them build a chip and seal circular driveway in our front yard and we couldn't be happier. The crew worked quickly clearing trees, moving dirt and working with our landscaper to re-route the irrigation lines. The supervisors, as well as the owner, checked in with us regularly to make sure that the work was consistent with our expectations. The entire job took 3 days with a minimum of disruption. After the work was completed, a supervisor came by to look for any issues and make sure we were satisfied. The job was excellent and we are constantly getting compliments on the quality of our new driveway. I would recommend Ramsey Asphalt to anyone who values a high level of professionalism, customer service, and competence. read more

Ramsey's Asphalt Construction is a very professional and responsible company. They did an outstanding job on the slurry seal for our parking lot. It recently became necessary for me to replace my old 400' asphalt driveway that had deteriorated beyond repair. Ramsey Asphalt Construction was able to pulverize my old road, add additional road base, pave the road and add curbing the entire length in a single day. I couldn't be happier with the finished product. The entire Ramsey crew was very professional during the entire process and addressed all of my concerns. Before they left for the day, they took the extra time to blend this new road into my existing landscape, leaving everything in perfect condition. read more

We were extremely pleased with our entire experience with Ramsey Asphalt, from the time to get the proposal to the scheduling of the job and then to the completion of the job. We have a long commercial driveway with parking spots that had not seen any attention in years. The driveway was actually falling to pieces in areas and had large holes in various spots. We had previously went to the company who originally installed the driveway and was continuously put on delay. We then got a bid from a second company that pretty much did the same thing. After four months of being put off, we went to Ramsey who responded right away, got us a bid and put us on their schedule. They showed up when they said they would and knocked the job out in one day. This is a very professional and very well orchestrated team. It is clear to us that they care about their image, performance and end product. It was a pleasure working with both John and Tim who both are very knowledgeable about their profession. We would not give a second thought to recommending Ramsey Asphalt to anyone, as a matter of fact, we have all ready done so. Bob and Jeannie Pudas Cambria read more

First Id really like to thank Mr Ramsey for all his hard work. The work he did at my Paso Robles place was great! Everything came out beautiful! Second, I had a really hard time getting along with the superintendent, Michael, on site he did nothing but argue with me the whole time and when he wasn't arguing he was sitting in his truck or playing on his smart phone. He's a very poor superintendent and doesn't contribute anything to the company. I did have a great experience with the Foreman of the crew, Tim. He did exactly what I wanted and explained everything to me before he did it. He is a big part of making the company great! In my opinion he should be the Superintendent because he was actively involved with the client and generally cared about getting the work done right on the first try, he went over and beyond, on what I expected him to do. I would definitely use Ramsey Asphalt again because of Scott Ramsey, Tim and the Crew. read more

How often does one find an ASPHALT company to rave about? Well, we sure did. Scott Ramsey and every member of their team that I met was nice, helpful, super hard working and remarkable. They claimed they could finish our 14,000 sq foot driveway in a day, and beat that impossible deadline by a couple hours. Their equipment is new and clean, they didn't take lunch until 3 PM because they didn't want to disrupt the paving phase. Their pricing was extremely fair. Honestly, they were easily the best or one of the very best of all the subs we used in our three year house remodel. Truly incredible, I can't possibly recommend them enough. Long live Ramsey!!! Scott Ramsey has a long list of references from satisfied business customers. Me? I'm just a local resident who needed my dilapidated parking area fixed and repaved. I obtained several bids and asked quite a few questions. Scott personally called and answered my questions - the day I asked them. He is personable, responsive and prompt. Ramsey got the job and boy are we glad we hired them! The Ramsey team was courteous, professional and seemed to genuinely love their job and working together. I can't say enough about this company! read more

We have a long, a bit under 1/4 mile, narrow driveway in ojai that hadn't seen any attention since the 50's (read rocky, dusty, seriously water worn in places and stunningly uneven). it also has a couple of turns that are too tight for modern trucks of any size. it was time. we got several quotes and all were effectively the same. we awarded the job to ramsey and they were wonderful. we had chip seal applied. the job was tough as the driveway is a circle and, because of the corners, the trucks had to do a tremendous amount of backing up down a winding and very narrow road. no one complained, there was no damage, the men worked hard and the finished product - 72 hours in - looks just wonderful. everyone has been extremely responsive and i cannot say enough. what was certain to be a very stressful project turned out to be much less so because of the workers (they were careful), the heavy equipment operators (who clearly knew what they were doing/comfortable with their equipment). i cannot recommend ramsey asphalt enough. very competitive price for good quality product - on time and kept to schedule. read more

Ramsey Asphalt recently (August 2018) chip sealed our driveway in the Santa Ynez Valley. First, let me say that the whole process from meeting with Scott Ramsey (owner) to the completion of the project was highly professional and exceeded our expectations. We have a very large driveway with complicated grades. The Ramsey folks had to do extensive grading before the chip seal to fix areas that my outdoor landscape contractors had left in a mess. The crew did excellent work in a short period of time to keep my costs down. The chip seal process went very smoothly. Scott wasn't entirely happy with the gravel color so they came back at no expense to us to do a special wash on the stones and add extra gravel. My project cost also came in below the bid. That never happens to me and after my very long, arduous and expensive outdoor project that consistently was billed much higher than budget, this last piece -- the driveway -- was a real pleasure. I would highly recommend Scott and his company. read more
