My dad is later picked up, ambulette and on the way to office, when I get a call from the office, staff said the doctor (Leon Chen) says if you get here at 12 , he would not see you. I told her , he was on the way, maybe someone else can be moved up on his place, she said no, to reschedule. How can I reschedule with them when they are not sensitive to disabled patients who depends on ambulette service to get them to appointments? Most medical offices know that dealing with ambulette companies in the city requires some grace. To the office- Please don't take it personal when an ambulette dependent patient has to be late to their appointments. They are dependent on others and most of the time , their family members take time off work to be with them and assist.

He performed the cerumen removal on Mom and made sure she was comfortable and could hear him (she barely could when we arrived). They also performed a comparative hearing test so we could have some documentation for the hearing aid fitting coming up. They also suggested a few services that she may need or want--didn't push anything, just informed her of options available to her. The offices are clean and we did not have to wait long to be seen. Everyone was cordial but professional and very respectful.

Dr. Kwiat has excellent bedside manner; she is kind, attentive, and genuinely empathetic. I highly recommend her if you are in search of an allergist/immunologist. She is also very communicative regarding medication follow-ups and maintenance. I work in healthcare, and I personally find her tone to be factual and professional rather than condescending. I noticed several reviews mentioning her demeanor, but I didn't find that she "talks down" to patients at all. She is simply very knowledgeable in her field. If your symptoms don't align with a specific condition that you are assuming you might have, she will tell you outright that the science and medicine don't back it up. Regarding requests for testing, she approaches them from a practical insurance and business standpoint to determine if a test is truly medically necessary before filing a claim or charging you. If there is a disagreement or a misunderstanding, it certainly isn't coming from a place of ill-will; she is just being direct. The practice itself is on the 3rd floor (there is an elevator available). The front desk staff are pleasant, and the waiting room is spacious, bright, and clean. There is also a restroom available for patients. Booking through their website was seamless. Despite my chaotic schedule, I had to reschedule several times and encountered no issues. They provided a reminder call on Monday for my Tuesday appointment, along with several text and email check-in reminders. I arrived 15 minutes early, but since I had pre-filled my forms online, I only waited about five minutes before being called back. The examination rooms are also quite spacious and comfortable. I even had to call the office after my appointment with a follow-up question; they took a message, and Dr. Kwiat called me back just a few hours later to address my concerns. Once inside I explained to the doctor my issue and he looked in my nose and was about to tell me right away the issue. After suffering for about a month without knowing what was happening I was relieved. The front desk gives you checkout summary before you leaves that explains everything about your visit, medications and when you follow up. Just a side note, parking in the area was challenging.

All because the referral needed to be faxed? Nonsense. So I left and went to NYU a week later in order to have my ear examined. Staff needs a lot of training. No patience or professionalism. For checkups and treating persistent issues, they're a good place to go. Always treated well there. I would recommend bringing some paper to take notes with - they give you a lot of important information quickly. There are some issues that make going here a pain, however. I don't blame them for this attitude - the waiting room is always packed and some patients are openly (and loudly) demonstrative of their impatience, but you should go in prepared to tell people to slow down. I was also disappointed in the way my outpatient surgery with Dr. K Kantu was organized. The surgery went off without a hitch,and I am very satisfied with the result, but the staff planning it made everything more difficult. Again, they went through too quickly, which led to sloppy mistakes that made it harder on me. Their instructions were also contradictory with respect to those given by the hospital OR, which was confusing. I gladly continue to go here, as the quality of medical treatment is excellent. It is important, however, to go in with clear eyes and ready to ask questions - or at least to ask them to slow down and explain things a second time.

Total loss of time. If they don't know, some people are actually working and have to take a leave from the job to see the doctor. Also, they have a smallest waiting area I ever saw. It's a very small space outside the office right between two doors and you cannot even see a receptionist from there. It's like they do not let you in and makes you wait outside hiding behind the closed second door. Apparently, patients are not good enough or noble enough to stay in one room with office stuff.
