My stomach did a big flip when I saw a Ramey truck pull onto my property. I did not hire them. My plumber subcontracted them to do the line work. I questioned this choice privately and was assured, "this is the good one". Okay. Fast forward to the recent ice and snow storm of January 27, 2026. I woke up to no water despite leaving water dripping. It was frozen where the line went under the house. Almost 50 feet of line lay exposed on top of the ground. Really? For the love of God, DO NOT USE Ramey Plumbing! I'm gonna post this EVERYWHERE- whether they've got an online presence ot not: Ramey came to my dad's house to inspect a leak in the living room ceiling on early Monday morning 1/8/17... They said that they needed to get something for the upstairs toilet and that they'd be back--- but they NEVER came back! All day on Monday, no one came back and no one called- despite me leaving a voicemail message. My dad and I both left voicemails Monday and Tuesday, which were unreturned. After leaving a final message in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, threatening a negative online presence, someone *finally* called us back-- but they were too late. We went with K. FARMER PLUMBING & SERVICE in Hillsville, Virginia. Lesson to be learned by Ramey: "Take care of your customers and they'll take care of you." Also, don't assume that, because your customers are 70+ years old that they don't know about Yelp, Angie's List, and the like... Because their kids and grandkids do! read more

This company doesn't even rate one star. I called to have a leak fixed in the hot water line going to my stackable washer/dryer. After calling several local companies and leaving messages (or getting no answer), Mr. Raney actually answered the phone. He was very nice on the phone and we made arrangements for hm to come the next day, late morning. He said he would call when he was on his way since it was about a half hour drive. By 2pm when he hadn't shown, I called his number. I got an answering machine that said his mailbox was full and could not accept any more messages. WHAT???? How can someone do business like this: leaving a potential new customer high and dry with no notice?? A small job done right, starting from the first contact, will always lead to more if treated properly. And that starts with respect.
