What severely lets it down is the appalling breakfast experience. The mushrooms tasted of cheese, the hash browns were rock hard and my poached eggs arrived undercooked and raw. Don't even get me started on the serving methods though. Food is served in antiquated metal food trays and customers take them off and are forced to pile them up to get to each section. This is truly a surprise after such a great experience until this point.

It is just a short 10 minute walk to the city centre (a nice straight road too so there is no way that you can get lost, which I have a tendancy to do). If you don't fancy a walk to get something to eat, there is a TGI Fridays underneath the hotel which is great. The hotel is relatively cheap (if you book in advance) but can be more expensive if you have a last minute trip. The only bad thing I really noticed was the fact that you had to pay for the use of the internet. Breakfast is not included but at £5.25 for an all you can eat buffet, its not half bad! Overall I thought this was a great place to stay and great value for money!

But whilst talking to someone after Leeds West Indian Carnival he recommended the hotel. 'you know the owners. They used to own that delicatessen near your house.' that did it. I temebered the nice couple whohsed to serve Goyer cheese and salami. I also got my favourite polish caramel sweets from there. So i booked and got a lift there within half hour. They were welcoming and as friendly as I remembered them from 1972. Booking in was so good My bags were carried upstairs and i was wished good night. I watched tv for half an hour then settled in the cosy bed with pretty flowered bedding. I slept through till 7. A rarity for me. I felt at home.Breakfast at 8.30 was a wonderful experience in a spacious restaurant. I had a spoonful of each cereal and the milk was brought in a small jug. Personal service making me feel special. Toast was brought in on a plate and tea in a teapot. My breakfast was well cooked and on an oval plate.they asked if everything was ok, did I need anything else. I was even offered another pot of tea in case the other was cold. They took time to have a conversation when I said I used to buy ham salami and cheese from them. I Mentioned my favourite sweets too. I then went back to bed for half an hour. The other staff were as friendly as the owners. They allowed me to watch tv and charge my phone in the lounge though it was past checking out time. Everyone was So calm and relaxed. And someone even send them some flowers. All in all it was a wonderful experience and i can't wait to-do it again.

They provided a free room and PA system all we paid for was the meal and wine. The service was outstanding and the portions of superbly cooked food enough to satisfy any gargantuan appetite. Martin held control and in his own inimitable laid back style mastered the evening, truly amazing. The facilities at the Parkway gave our out of town guests the opportunity of using it as a base to visit family and/or the tourist attractions which they all took advantage of. A particular guest has back problems, the Parkway sorted out her bed and she had a wonderful stay. One can ask for nothing more.

It's a cheap and cheerful kinda place, that as Alexandra says, is open all hours every hour for those situations when you can't get home yourself, or when a few mates come down to see you, but there's no way you can put them up because there's someone already on the sofa, or you plain don't want them there. Accomodation is priced by room, and at £30 for a couple, it's a bit of a bargain. Even if it is very basic accomodation, it offers some of the mod cons we've come to love, wi-fi, car park, a telly, and NEED when away from home. It's not a grand affair, but it doesn't profess to be. And bonus, if you've been out on the lash, and this is your crash pad for the night...check out isn't until 11.30 am. woop!

It is open 24 hours a day and so even if it is 3am, your car has broken down and you are a while away from Leeds City Centre, you still have a 'sleep in a real bed' option. Hooray! They offer single (£25 per night), double (£30 per night) or family (£40 per night) rooms. The family rooms sleep 4 people. It is extremely basic and nothing special but could be very useful if you're stuck.
